DONOTWASTEYOURTIME! Came here for my birthday after some other horrible restaurants. Of course the woman night manager chose to close the restaurant early at 10:30 pm instead of being open till 01:30 am. What a waste of time for any occasion. Go somewhere that cares about their customers.

Keagan’s has a typical sports bar /Irish pub ambiance. They offer mostly pubby comfort foods along with a few more elaborate entrees. Service is friendly, but slow. I tried a Keagan’s burger which was supposed to come with bacon and cheese. I didn’t detect either. Skip it. They’re cheap with the side of fries, also. Prolly a great spot to meet friends after work. Outdoor seating in nce weather looks like it would be fun. Come for a drink, skip the food.

My coworker staying at the aloft decided to try and slip in here and grab an adult beverage. We sat at two empty stools. The bar tender looked at us and then disappears to another bar. We assumed he would be right back. After a literal 20 minutes of staring and waiting and actually laughing directly at employees ignoring us we got up and left and went to burger Bach and we had a beer in prob three minutes. Not exactly the type of Irish pub I’ve ever been too. First time I think I have ever left a bar with no service at all.

Crab dip was good, service sucks, and our main course meal was horrible. Dont recommend going here and wasting your money.

BLUF: Better than Applebees and Chilis but basically the same thing. I go back home to Richmond every few years and this area is completely new to me. Very impressive new development. Keagan’s is a popular(or so my 60 year old parents tell me) sports bar/irish Applebees. The place is huge with tons of seating both indoors and ourdoors. I do bet this place is awesome when the weather is nice for outdoor beers. Lots of tvs inside for whatever game you want to watch. The menu is huge and it all sounds pretty good. Beer selection looked average unless there was a menu i was missing. Not bad. I got the beef and beer sandwich and it was really really good. It looked small but with the side it was a good amount for a fair price. I got the cheesy potato cake(basically a fried ball of mashed potatoes). Both were really good. My wife got the chicken sandwich and it was pretty bad. Almost too tough to eat. My dad got the montecristo which he loves but in my opinion is a nasty creation. It is a whole sandwich deep fried and then covered in raspberry sauce. So basically a sandwich in a donut. I thought it was gross. He also got the mac an cheese which were average at best. Not much flavor. My mom got a burger and she liked it. I tasted it and it was fine. She got a side of mushrooms which were really good.. Overall the place is fine for an easy evening out for food. Probably is a pretty good place to go drink and watch a game. It is essencailly Applebees but slightly better.

Great place to watch football on sundays if you like cheap domestic beer. Their beer selection is pretty horrid. Mostly beers that were popular 6 months ago and they were late to the party. The bartenders are awful at waiting on you. The tall skinny guy with glasses took 15 minutes to even acknowledge we were at the bar the numerous times I have been. Very frustrating. Your best bet is to get a table because the servers do a great job at attending to you. Overall not a bad spot to watch some sports and drink bad beer.

Teriyaki Glazed Salmon! Yummm! Would be a 5 star review, but it’s never consistent. Sometimes I get the jasmine rice it’s supposed to come with, others I get just plain white rice(really?) There IS a difference ;-). Sometimes it comes with a medley of seasonal vegetables, other times just asparagus. Consistency is key, which they are missing in some places. Regardless, I usually enjoy it. I’ve had it every time I’ve gone– with the exception of one time I tried crabcakes— which were, at best, bland. Don’t go to an Irish pub and hope to enjoy crab cakes. I don’t know what I was thinking! Not like salmon is any better of a choice, but at least it tastes awesome! :-)

It was the only place with reservations available for Sunday brunch. I should’ve paid more respect to the reviews and waited somewhere else. Food was only ok and service was lacking. I had Kelly’s Benedict — the poached eggs were overcooked with hard yokes and the rest was average. Hubby said the bangers were ok and my friend said the corned beef was pretty good. Service was just bad. Hubby had to ask for coffee refill and she only filled his, not the rest of ours. She wasn’t around much. After waiting what seemed forever to ask for our check is when she offered coffee refill. I wouldn’t recommend this place. Might be a good bar, but I am not a drinker.

I stopped in one night while looking for a bite to eat. They were having a karaōke night which was fairly entertaining. The food was good as were the drinks. The service took awhile but the girl seemed spread thin so I can’t really blame her for that. I hope to check this place out again soon to get a better idea of the atmosphere on a non karaōke night.

I saw that Keagan’s had 2.5 stars before our visit tonight and I was very surprised because we have had pleasant experiences before. We arrived tonight with a reservation for 19 people. We were greeted and seated promptly at two separate tables. Our waitress took over 15 minutes to arrive at our tables. I was shocked that we only had one waitress for 19 people. On her first round she took drink orders. She forgot half of the drinks and had to be reminded. Then she took appetizers and returned about 30 minutes later to finally take dinner orders. Our food was delicious and almost everyone in our party cleaned our plates, however, our waitress needed to be asked 2 or 3 times to bring anything. It saddens me to give Keagan’s 2 stars because I really do enjoy the food and location, however, our service was so abysmal tonight that I can’t give them any higher. I feel like our waitress took full advantage of the fact that gratuity was added into our bill. I am normally a very good tipper, but her 18% was definitely not earned tonight.

Stopped in with a colleague for a couple Guinness and only got through one, regretfully now… as when we ordered the 2nd Guinness we noticed the male bartender was using his FINGER to scrape the head off the beer as it was being filled. Heath hazard and disgusting! Could not recommend the Pretzels either as they were without taste, over cooked, hard, and needed more salt. Overall, I’m surprised this place has an average 3 star rating.

We were staying at the Aloft hotel which is right next door so we thought we would try brunch. We arrived at 11:50 and had a little wait for a table but not too long. They were prompt getting our drink order but the waitress didn’t come back to get our food order, the hostess did. After waiting 45 minutes for our food we flagged the waitress down and asked her where our food was. She said as she rushed by that she was going to check on it. I saw her come I in and out of the kitchen twice but never came back to us. Finally ten minutes later we walked out. We were there 70 minutes and never got any food. Needless to say we won’t be back. Don’t go if you are in a hurry

Review for their Brunch and Service: Went here on an early Sunday around 1130 to have brunch with my son. I was pretty excited since we live in the neighborhood and my son loves brunch. Went in there, was not crowded at all and waited for at least 5 minutes to be seated(no one was at the front). Then, once we got seated, our order was taken and we waited another 30 – 40 minutes for our food to come out. Mind you, the restaurant was not busy at all. I ordered the crab cake brunch item and the scrambled eggs came out cold. I don’t even think they were real eggs… and they tasted nasty. I couldn’t even finish it. The crabcake was alright, but didn’t come with any sauce. To top it all off, I don’t think our waitress was very friendly either. Very disappointed, don’t think i’ll be coming here again.

Horrible service experience. No hostess anywhere to be seen when walking in with a sign that reads«please wait to be seated». After waiting 10 minutes we finally asked the bartender if it would be okay to seat ourselves outside. A waitress greeted us at the table then we waited another 20 minutes,(Seriously 20 minutes) before I walked back into the bartender and got our own menus. Finally the waitress returned and took our drink and food order. I’m writing this review while still waiting for our food. We have been here almost a hour at this point without even receiving our drinks. They do not appear to be busy at all. Needless to say I will not be returning.

I have been here 2 times and the first time we waited so long to be seated. They were not busy just the hostess was the only one that could set us in an empty restaurant even though 3 servers passed us by. After that we had great food kids meal was awesome and my fish & chips were so good I couldn’t stop eating! The Ruben was fantastic and I found out they gave a military discount! I was super excited about that being a five time combat veteran finding a place that actually appreciated that sort of thing was some where I would like to go back to. Upon our second time coming to the restaurant we had again waited five minutes to even get seated our waiter took 6 minutes and waited 11 minutes to get the kids menus so we could not order our food till The kids menus printed. The food was good yet again but service just makes me never want to go back. If you are in the military on Sunday after 4 o’clock they offer a military discount something I did not know the first time. I replaces not only in the food but the service and quality of the service as well that’s the reason why they get one star I don’t feel bad giving them this because obviously they ever into improve but I’ll never go back so hopefully someone read this review and maybe start working on the service?

I gave this place two chances. Why? Well, perhaps they were having an off night. So in all fairness I believe in second chances. But NO! The service at this place is beyond bad. It rockets itself into the realm of total shit. The food could be ok, but seriously get some staff that aren’t so vapid and that can count above 10.(I checked, the staff have all visible digits). Look. There are plenty of places to eat. Don’t waste your time unless yo are fulfilled by not getting utensils or NAPKINS or a bartender or waiter that seems to care about good service. My tip to the waitress instead of money was simple. «Think long and hard about your career choices. Customer service is not your calling».

I’ll make this short. We had reservations for 7p and weren’t seated until 7:45p. We didn’t get our first round of beers until almost 9p. We were told the hold up was because we changed our order. It’s unclear how in the world that could have happened… No explanation was offered. The waitress raised her voice at us later, berating us for talking to other wait staff to try to get food orders/her attention. Talked to the manager to no avail. Left paying the automatic tip that was put on the tab. I’m most appalled at the management for allowing her to berate and blame us. Completely unacceptable.

First of all the only reason I can think of as to why there are two different Unilocal pages for this place is that they were trying to rebrand or something. Don’t like that. Don’t trust it. I started going here right when the place opened, and it was great. Best(then and still, but prices still have gone up) The place steadily has been going down hill, quality, and ambiance wise. Add that to the fact that I happen to know lots of people that work(or used to) there, and the word is that the new management is atrocious. Been going there a lot less now… and I’m thinking that that will continue. She crab soup rocks.

Came here with a few buddies from work. We sat at the bar for a quick bite and Brittany the bartender greeted us quickly and had drinks and menus in our hand in seconds. I ordered the turkey club. Although it had a little too much mayo for my taste, they don’t skimp on the turkey or bacon so it evened out. The bread it is served on is delicious(9 grain I think). Fries came with it and were slightly cold and limp. Then again we had to wait for a steak my buddy ordered so they probably got cold in the window, 1 star lost. All in all it was good, fast(lunch break) food for a reasonable price. And the view isn’t bad either. Hehehehe. I’d go again.

A few weeks ago I came to Richmond with a group to celebrate a friend’s 30th birthday at Dave & Buster’s. Unfortunately the birthday girl did not plan ahead by setting up reservations to eat before playing at D&B. With a group of 16 hungry adults, the hunt for a nearby restaurant began. This wasn’t an easy feat… just about every restaurant in the immediate vicinity had a 1.5−2 hour wait. Using Unilocal as our guide, we proceeded to give it one last shot with Keagan’s. And they did not disappoint. Amazingly, they were able to accommodate our large group with only a 10 minute courtesy to set up. Although we were to be split up a bit, our tables were neighboring. With their availability we could hardly complain and took what we could get. Keagan’s is a locally owned and operated Irish Pub & Restaurant. Although not connected, it’s in the same building, bottom portion of the Aloft hotel in the West Broad Village area. Pretty easy to find. It has a comfortable feel with dark woods, exposed brick, Irish memorabilia and a plethora of TVs. They serve local beers and host local bands regularly(one was warming up as we finished our meal). Our server was a spunky young lady who was pretty efficient and kind. She did her best to take care of us while the place was filling up to see the band perform that evening. I was glad to see some other staff members come over to not only deliver food but also check on us a few times. Food/Drink: –Keagan’s Punch: heavy on the punch, stingy with the liquor. I had another adult beverage(can’t remember the name though) and had the same problem. –Irish Nachos: love the fact that these nachos were built with house-made potato chips. They’re topped with a chipotle sauce, cheddar-jack cheese, lettuce, and a fresh tomato salsa. My serving was definitely lacking in the cheese department which is really disappointing when you order nachos! –Chicken Quesadilla: Grilled Chicken with cheddar-jack cheese, chipotle cheese sauce, salsa fresca, chipotle lime sour cream and scallions. I was able to sample this from a friend’s order. It was dripping from the chipotle sauce and very messy. It had good flavor though and somehow did not get soggy. Overall, the food was decent and it’s not a bad place. We even came back for a few drinks at the bar after D&B’s fun. The bartenders were very friendly and were not at all upset by our late venture back into their establishment. We closed the place down after one drink but were able to enjoy ourselves while we were there. I would definitely come back here to have a few drinks and chill. Pro Tip: We discovered that on nice weather days, the windows to the bar open up and patrons have the option of sitting outside and enjoying both the sunshine and a few brews. That’s awesome in my book!
