Sucks that this place has since shut down. While it was still in operation, it was actually surprisingly clean and the staff was pretty friendly. I doubt its closure was the result of anything other than simply low traffic.

I went here on a Sunday afternoon for a date and it was pretty busy. I hadn’t bowled in years so this was a great location to do it at! I got a two hour unlimited bowl session(where my date beat me twice). Check this place out! It’s pretty nice for Glen Burnie!!!

LoML and I have joined the Mixed Doubles League at this location on Wednesday nights; I wasn’t really even sure about league play, but it’s turned out to be a lot of fun and one of the things I really look forward to during the course of the week. AMF league bowlers get extra perks, by the by: free practice games, discounts on merchandise and consumables, and other advantages that are really appreciated. We’re probably the worst team on the league — our motto isn’t «The Best of the Rest» for nothing — but we’re having hella fun, which is what counts. The only bad thing about league is that it can be expensive — this particular one is, anyway, and we haven’t a snowball’s chance in hell of winning the prize money, but we knew that going in. It’s still worth the expense, and we’d normally pay 20 dollars for 2 hours of bowling, anyhow, so a little extra isn’t that bad. Playing league also sharpens our skills, as well. The staff gets to know you as well here — the manager of Ritchie Lanes is one of the sweetest ladies I’ve ever met. Always smiling and cheery and«up», even when it’s obvious that she’s not feeling well. She’s given us extra time on the lanes, too, on occasion. I love this place. Less-than-three.

After having to make last minute plans finding a bowling alley for a group of people, I decided to give AMF Ritchie Lanes a try. There was going to be a group of 8 people bowling their respective hearts out, so I needed to find a place where I can get two lanes without a hassle. On Saturdays, they have Xtreme Bowling from 9AM — 1AM(closing). The price is $ 20, plus the cost of shoe rental($ 4.25). In order to reserve a lane for Xtreme Bowling(as I found out), you have to sign up at a table a little bit before 9PM. Pretty much, its first come, first serve basis. As far as the actual bowling is concerned, we did have an issue with both lanes being unable to keep correct score. The computer holding up the scores pretty much became unresponsive after the second frame. I guess we were knocking ‘em pins dead, or maybe not. We had to move to another set of lanes due to the malfunction. Also, on Saturdays, they have a DJ spinning tunes. The DJ played Rap/R&B for the entire night, which was a hit was the young crowd. The older crowd wasn’t interested in listening to songs such as «Make It Rain» and«I’m the Ish» blasting through the speakers. It felt like more of a club than an actual bowling alley. This AMF location was an OK experience; I really couldn’t see myself coming back on the regular. This location seems like a hit for the younger crowd(teenyboppers) on Saturdays. If you’re looking to get a lane, make sure to come early. Even when the 20 degree weather outside, people still came out to knock some pins down.
