It was my first time here with my bf and his brother. There’s nothing special here, the food was okay and the trick(the show) or the performance from the chef was so lame. My bf was kinda drunk at the time so he has mentioned to the server that he used to work there(back in the day) he didn’t expect for any discounts or anything. For some reasons(I’ve no ideas) the server came back to ask my bf for his info so he might get a discount from the owner!!! Long story short, the owner came to my bf with a disgusting look to him. The owner was so rude to him as I believe that my bf was mistaken about the location that he used to work at. To the owner or the young guy(I believe to be the general manager there), you really have a bad behavior. At the end of the day, we’re still your customer!!! If you don’t want our business with you, that’s fine and you didn’t have to be so rude to us in front of other customers. Treat customers as the king. I’d definitely not coming back and the 1star is for my server only, he was great anyway. Other than that was 0!

I go here about twice a month and sit on the non grill side for faster service. Every time I go in Tim assists me and is by far the best waiter I’ve ever encountered. Thanks for the great service!

The food performance was just fine. The food was NOT as great as other spots… food didn’t seem fresh. Wasn’t really a super fun dinning experience. It had a dirty feel to the restaurant… I wasn’t very underwhelmed. I would be back if someone suggested… I mean I wouldn’t put up a fight but I def wouldn’t suggest this place…

Love this place food is always fulfilling. The sushi is so fresh and awesome. The only downside is that they open so late.

This place has all the flair of any hibachi grille you could imagine. Great showmanship and a surprisingly extensive menu. That being said they lose some stars for the decrease in quality I have noticed over my last several visits here. In past visits, I was always impressed by the quality of the steaks and seafood, and my wife loved the teriyaki chicken. Recently, the steak has not been as tender, and often has fatty pieces. According to my wife the chicken has recently had similar issues. They do have the best fried rice and yum yum sauce I have ever had. The portions are huge and you can double your rice for only $ 2 more so you can eat for a day after leaving. Hoping they elevate themselves back to their old levels again soon!

Ok after visiting a few other places similar to this place my recent return back I was far from impressed. Our chef was so DRY we actually had a child at our table and the«choo-choo trick» was probably the lamest one I’ve ever seen out of the many times I’ve seen it. I get you do the same show often but at least look like you enjoy it. Second thing I noticed, the veggies were not fresh. The broccoli was browning the zucchini was dried out the just looked like they should’ve been thrown away. The rice was good as usual, shrimp tasted like it was frozen and chicken breast the same. It was just ok. I won’t bring a large party here based off my last visit.

DELISH! Came here for a birthday party for my nephew and really enjoyed the restaurant. I have visited a Sakura once before and wasn’t too impressed this time was very different. I ordered the steak and shrimp with mushroom side. The show was fabulous and the food scrumptious. The staff went out of there way to make everyone feel special. I was surprised how big the portions were and delighted to have lunch for the next day! I will totally suggest Sakura hen looking for a special fun meal!

I ate here last night. The food here is delicious. Really it is. The vegetables were not over cooked so they had a nice texture, definitely not mushy and they were fresh. I had Teriyaki Chicken with the shrimp sampler which was saucy and flavorful and fully cooked. The fried rice was also yummy. They use that sauce called yum-yum sauce, similar to a sweet funky ranch which is good. I also had a Dirty Shirley and a Perfect Peach. Beware though, their mixed drinks are potent and very alcohol flavored. So basically the food and drinks weren’t bad but the three stars really comes from the actual hibachi show. I feel like when you go to these restaurants you pay to see the chef do tricks and show skills but I didn’t really feel like the chef made a «show» I mean he basically made a big fire, missed catching an egg in his pocket, and then cooked our food. He was nice and the service was good. Our servers name was Joss and she was great. Very attentive. But in terms of a «show» I’d rather go to Kyotos in Severna Park where they really are skilled with throwing around utensils and are really funny as well and include you in the show with jokes and things. But with that being said I would still go back to Sakuras because the service and food is good. But it is not my favorite hibachi restaurant.

Utterly disappointed that they would not honor the 20% off coupon that I received in the ValuPak. Normally I go to the Annapolis Sakura which is wonderful — great food and service. Compared to Annapolis, this location was the pits! The greeter seemed less than enthused that my party of 5 arrived, and the table chef was just«going through the motions» despite there being a few kids at the table that would have been up for the typical show. Very depressing to watch a choo-choo train by someone who obviously wishes they had the day off. Normally I print out a 10% coupon with the specific store location off their website, but since I received a 20% with no store location named, I figured I’d just use that since we were arriving during the«early bird» period. Despite speaking to the manager, the coupon was denied. They wouldn’t even honor a 10% discount. I will not be returning to this location ever again. Just went here out of convenience to BJ’s where I was headed next. Take the extra drive and go to Annapolis if you want this type of food!!!

My husband and I eat here at least once a month! The food is awesome and we can’t find another hibachi with their yum yum sauce! It’s a little pricey and the servers could be a little nicer and that’s why I gave it a 4 out of 5 stars.

Amazing food. A little pricey but portions are great and it’s a show. Chicken livers are on point. As well is the sushi.

Been to this location a couple of times before. We choose to eat here cause we didn’t want to drive all the way to Annapolis for dinner and I figured my 7 year old would enjoy it. We all placed our order and enjoyed the cook and his crazy antics. The only negative feedback I have is I wish I could have all my food at the same time.

It’s been years since we dined at a Japanese steakhouse and Sakura didn’t disappoint. The food was plentiful and delicious. The staff was very friendly. My 3 year old loved the show. Altogether, lots of fun. Our biggest complaint would be our actual server was inexperienced. She didn’t know what an IPA was and was very slow getting drinks and our order. Otherwise, a great, fun night with the family.

Pretty good experience and about what you would expect for a Japanese steakhouse. I had the ribeye steak and the chef did a great job cooking it. The shrimp was just a a shade overcooked. You will get the standard hibachi show — onion volcano and train and juggling the utensils. All in all everything was good and the kids had a great time — will go back.

The service was really good. Both the waiter and cook were smiling and friendly. The food was also delicious although the rice was a bit bland then other places I’ve been to. Also the soup was piping hot, so hot I burned my tongue. Maybe they should warn you prior lol.

Absolutely my favorite hibachi place anywhere. I’ve been going here for years and am a loyal customer. Great fried rice and love the sautéed mushrooms. And filet mingon every time. Check it out. Highly recommend!

I really do not understand what happened to this Sakura. I moved to Glen Burnie in 2006 and in 2007 and 2008 I was known to come here 2 – 3 times A MONTH it was that good. Nowadays? Maybe once a year, if that. Previous reviews nailed it right on the head. Between 2006 and now I have seen a noticeable downhill slide in the overall cleanliness of the restaurant and I have not encountered a server that actually did a good job in several years. Forgetting simple things like water or to check on sodas is bad enough, but as a former server I *never* understand why the servers at Sakura never come back to ask if people want another cocktail– THATISYOURBREADANDBUTTERTOWARDSEASYTIPPING!!! *sigh* The shrimp as gone from tasting fresh to tasting frozen then thawed. The beef changed a few years ago and now tastes like something they picked up at Weis rather than from a proper butcher. The past two times I have been there the cooks looked overworked and exhausted. Like I said I used to go there a few times a month. Honestly I doubt I will return to Sakura in the future, which is sad considering I celebrated my birthdays in 2007 and 2008 there.

I understand this place is another one of those local staples, but I’ve been here multiple times and I have never been totaly impressed. For a hibachi grill, it’s alright. The food is ok, not the best I’ve ever had from a place like this, but not the worst. I always get the chicken and scallops. Service is fine, nothing spectacular. I seem to always find myself waiting a while for refills or them forgetting my white rice since everyone else seems to get fried. The atmosphere is very laid-back, which is fine. Overall, when I compare it to other hibachi grills, I wouln’t recommend this one. Fuji Steakhouse is much better, or even better than that, Sake Japanese Steakhouse in Laurel.

Sakura will always have a special place in my heart, I know this place is a chain, but the experience keeps me coming back for more! This place is excellent for groups or couples, and if your a single diner there are separate tables and the sushi bar seating, too. There is an array of food options, most of the time I get the lobster and steak pairing. This meal comes with salad, soup and a appetizer. You may have your steak prepared preciously, and you’ll likely be eating your food first as steak is normally prepared first. Full bar options, Sake and regular soda beverages are available. To start you will be brought to your table, hibachi grills and a light hearted chef will soon be preparing your meal and giving a performance while preparing your food. This interactive show is less than 10 minutes long and has some basic standards. First they will light a onion ring volcano, then spin a egg on his spatula(a japenese egg roll), and a game of catch the shrimp. You will stay busy from the moment your Chef arrives. The services is often fun and friendly, I can’t recall a time they have been less than stellar.

hhmmmm lets see where to start? Food– great. I mean you cant really mess up chicken teryaki? right? Service — OK. I mean not to happy to see you. but not going to steer you away either. I ordered fried rice but when the chef prepared the fried rice I didnt get mine. So I said something and he said«maybe you ordered steamed rice» Hmmm? I never order steamed rice. I know what I ordered. Then he pulled is waited aside pointed at me then turned his back to tell him about the rice mix up. Im sure there where a few choice words. At that point I didnt ever feel comfortable eating the rice. Chef tricks were exciting and entertaining. Also he did take my shellfish allergy seriously! Something could use a cleaning… either the carpet or mop. Bathrooms were super clean at a very busy time.
