The only fye on LI that does has old school video games, but overall average selection. While this fye does have the nicest appearance than the other 2 on LI, its selection can be pretty poor, at least for me. There’s the usual games, movies, clothes, accessories, and toys that other fye stores have, but with some very crucial things missing. Namely, horror movies and heavy metal music CDs. I once went looking for a new title by a fairly popular heavy metal band only to be told that their store didn’t have it, because they weren’t a store that carried heavy metal, like other stores might. I was like ‘huh?’ I mean this is fye, and if anyone would have less popular, non-mainstream titles and genres, they would. I would accept that from a major retailer like Best Buy, but not fye. On top of that, they are very limited in their horror selection, especially on blu-ray, and their used section isn’t too great in number either. The biggest positive I would give this store is its carrying and selection of used old school video games, like NES, SNES, Genesis, PS1, PS2, Gamecube, N64, Game Boy, etc. No, they don’t go as old as Atari or non-mainstream consoles like the Turbo Grafix-16 or anything, but no other fye store on LI has these old games. The fact that they are there is a giant plus. Secondly, their toy selection does feel slightly larger than other fye stores, albeit at the same prices. Lastly, I think(and this may have changed) that this is the only fye store that may be willing to combine coupons or deals, which the other fye stores tend to watch like a hawk. The staff is nice and has never given me a problem… yet they do seem pretty quiet and not quite as knowledgeable about pop culture as the other stores. They more or less just work there, whereas other places they seem to be more outgoing and happy to give insight on items. Then again, it’s a quieter area. If you’re big on video game collecting, toys, mainstream movies and music, and don’t care for horror or underground films, or heavy metal music, I would say this store should fit your needs. Yet if you’re more of a collector type you may be more turned off. If you are part of the former I mentioned, I would give this place 1 more star, but for a more«underground» collector, my 3 stars still stands.
