high priced for a diner with bad quality food. the bacon smelled like freezer burnt meat and since they used that bacon’s grease to cook the eggs the egg also smelled and tasted like bad meat. For the quality of the food the price is too high and people are although professional, are not welcoming

Cinnabon pancakes are the best pancakes anywhere — Long Island or otherwise. You have to try them. So good!!!

Much better than expected from reading Unilocal reviews before to give it a try today. The burger deluxe is actually good. Not fatty right amount of cheese since I m a health freak. A huge portion of Angus beef patty. Mushrooms add a magical flavor to the burger. A bit disappointed in Fish n Chips. The fish is not Cod:(but over all is alright. It is better than Thomas diner on Old Country Road in Westbury.

I have to admit I’m surprised at all the negative reviews here. It’s a diner. Not the best in the world. But pretty standard diner stuff. Dinner comes with a three-bean salad when you sit down. Fries or baked potato? Regular or Greek salad? Standard stuff folks. Went for breakfast, had a Greek omelette with home fries and rye toast. Good stuff. Coffee, juice. What’s to complain about? It’s a diner! Glad to have this one near me as Glen Cove needed a Diner. Located behind a McDonalds, you have to drive through a small strip shopping center up the hill to get there.

The first time I went there was for dinner. They were open for only about a month and were disorganized. The food was just ok. My wife did not like what she got. We went there for New Year’s Day because Henry’s was closed. My omelette was very dry and flat, but my wife liked her eggs over easy. I’m not sure that I would go back. The service was very good even though it was crowded.

I just had the best chicken soup of my life. Service was good too. I just cant believe a diner could have soup this good. Great place to eat!

Horrible food, horrible service, who messes up a burger? 4 stars? More like no stars, get out of glen cove, put more parking spots in, I’ll get better food from the homeless guy in the trees.

The food was yummy for a «diner» food. I’m usually not a big fan of diner food. But this place was really good and impressed. I order a cheese burger but needed it to be gluten free bun and they had it. Yay then I can’t have fries asked if I can have fruits instead and they did. The waitress is very sweet very accommodating. Made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. I give it a A++

One of Glen Cove’s best kept secrets! It’s Hidden behind McDonalds &CVS. Unless you know about it you wouldn’t find it. As soon as you walk in you are warmly greeted. I’ve been there several times & have always seen the same friendly waitresses. Within minutes of being seated they bring you a small bowl of pasta & garbanzo salad. Very tasty beginner! Lots of great menu options including breakfast for dinner. This time I chose the«Miller Panini.» It had sliced turkey, roasted peppers, mozzarella & balsamic glaze. Very tasty but the turkey was a little dry. Overall a great experience & a local favorite.

Woke up famished and craving for breakfast food, looked up the nearest diner by where we were staying and came to Glen Cove Diner. The ratings weren’t tempting but I was hungry and wanted some eggs and sausage so didn’t really have a rating preference as long as it wasn’t less than 3 stars. The diner was a bit packed due to fathers day but we were seated by the wall in the back right. The place looks a bit out dated and could have used a wipe down. I ordered what I was craving and the bf ordered the lox benedict with an extra large cranberry juice which was over priced and watered down. He wasn’t too happy with his dish neither. Looked yummy but didn’t taste yummy at all for him. My dish was eh. looked a bit skimpy on the home fries and the eggs looked really tiny. But it wasn’t so bad. You can’t really go wrong with eggs and sausage. I don’t think I will be coming back here.

Lots of disappointment in the«New Management». The a/c was broken during our visit which right away made our meal uncomfortable. There were ants crawling on our table, and flies smacking against the dirty windows. The clam chowder soup contained virtually no clams. None. The tenderloin tips were very fatty. The portion was large but ½ of it was inedible fat. The blue cheese dressing was extremely watered down with no actual blue cheese in it. We had to exchange it for Russian which was actually ok. The waitress, while pleasant, wasn’t very attentive, even though the dining room was nearly empty. While our check came to over $ 60, the manager refused to allow us to use both a «$ 5 off $ 30 or more» coupon with a «Free sundae with $ 25 or more» coupon, because he claimed that«the computer wouldn’t let him put both in. In other words, even though our experience was crap, he refused to just allow us to use a coupon for a sundae for my kids, who had to sweat the whole time, by just telling the waitress to dish out some ice cream. Overall, this new management is truly pathetic, and they’ll have a hard time getting repeat business if they continue to perform so poorly.

Love this diner. Comfortable atmosphere and friendly people. Food very good. We love to go here. So many entrée choices. Breakfast tasty too. Very clean. The Greek salad is the best I’ve tasted. Burgers are very good and they offer a lot of gluten free choices. So glad to have a diner in the neighborhood

I’ve been here multiple times and never had a problem until yesterday. I had a very rough day at work and came here to unwind and eat before heading home. My boyfriend and I opened the doors and the nice older guy seated us to any booth we’d like. We sat down and looked at the menu, the Spanish guy poured us water and then that’s when it began… This lady with the big hair came up to us very rudely and said«what would you want to drink» with a nasty look on her face like she didn’t want to be their at all. She didn’t even greet us or anything, I had to be the one to ask«how are you?» Anyway, a different waitress served us and I don’t know why the other waitress was such a mean inconsiderate ass to me and my boyfriend, she greeted everybody else friendly, especially the two tables behind us and I heard her big mouth laughing with another table… Excellent food but you need to change your staff.

Hard to find, hidden all the way in the back. But once we found it we were pleasantly surprised. I’m always up for breakfast so I ordered an omelette, which I really enjoyed. My bf opted for one of the lunch specials, gyro & spinach pie combo which also came with a cup of soup. Let me tell you, this«cup» was a ginormous bowl! We were amazed at the size of this bowl that came with this lunch special which was also a large amount of food! 2 pieces of spinach pie and a whole gyro pita sandwich. I believe the special was $ 14. It was a great deal, he couldn’t even finish it all. And it was pretty good, I ate half of his spinach pie. The service was great as well. We tried to return the next day for breakfast which was a Sunday and we couldn’t find a parking spot anywhere in the lot because it was so crowded so we left and went somewhere else.

The only reason this diner survives is because there are no other options nearby. Do yourself a favor and make the drive to Roslyn or Greenvale… We went for breakfast. Never encountered poorer service. I asked for a glass of milk for my child 5 times. Never got it. We asked for coffee refill 4 times. Never got it. The waiter was nasty and clearly didn’t want to be there. He was *really* rude. The pancakes were tough, chewy, and tasted awful. How does a diner not get pancakes right? Nearby, another child spilled an entire glass of chocolate milk, and we watched multiple waitstaff step over it for 45 min. This restaurant is filthy in addition to the poor food and service. This diner is an insult to Greek hospitality and the people of Kefalonia. I hope the health department visits soon.

My mouth is watering just thinking about the«New York Deli» omelette at the Glen Cove Diner. I’m not sure what genius thought of making up this concoction of pastrami and swiss in an omelette, but they have my deepest gratitude and admiration. This omelette is everything an omelette should be. Savory, flavorful, egg-y but with a distinct flavor of other ingredients. As someone else noted, the challah French toast is great as well. And I always appreciate a place that has orange marmalade as a potential toast topper. However, as noted in other reviews, they don’t use real maple syrup. Even worse than the lack of real syrup, is that the syrup comes in individual little packets. A touch of class with a small jug of syrup(even the corn syrup fake stuff) would be nice. But it doesn’t matter. That pastrami omelette trumps everything.

Service was superb and the food was delish! Got the Greek salad, Spanaokita(Spinach pie), and Pastichio(Greek lasagne), everything was on-point and left our table full and with some leftover for the next day. Definitely worth the visit!
