Overpriced! My girlfriend got the melon margarita which was 14 dollars. Tasted like it had no alcohol and was very small and mostly ice. We sent the filet mignon back because it was well done instead of med rare. Btw, I know what different cooking levels of steak look like. Server did not appologize, instead said«I’ll ask the chef what he thinks». When the steak came back it was half the size of the original, and it was medium well, not med rare… We just ate it anyway. The server didn’t even bother coming back to ask if it was alright. I would have lied anyway, but it would have been nice if he did. Slow service. Dropped desert menus of without asking if we wanted desert, which we didn’t then made us wait 10 minutes to say check please. Then took 15 minutes to pick up the check with our money in it. We left a tip of 8 dollars on a 76 dollar bill bc we felt bad leaving less. After we left the manager came out to ask us how our experience was, meanwhile the server runs out and starts yelling at us about the tip, while we were talkijg to the manager. The manager was understanding and invited us back to give the place another try. She at least wanted to know what was wrong so I’ll give her that. Definitely the most obnoxious, unpleasant dining experience I have ever had, and the fact that I spent so much money made it that much worse. I wish I would have left no tip or even better yet, not come at all.

We love this restaurant. Just came back from a wonderful lunch with friends. Great staff and really fresh ingredients. Recommend the beet salad and salmon any way they are having it that day. Have been there for girl luncheons, family brunches etc. just wish it was a bit larger. Otherwise. No complaints. Try it if you have not

I am giving it a 2 stars. Minus three starts for customer service, food and trickery to get you in the door. First, we have a toddler and the waitress wasn’t friendly at all. She acted like we did not belong there and only asked us once how we were doing. But came to us 3 times within 8 minutes span to ask for our orders. And I know she can be nice because of how she received the guests at the next table. And they left after looking at the menu. Our meal was $ 22 per person without alcohol. We ordered a burger and an omelette. Second, bad options for a child menu and you will pay freaking $ 14 per meal. When we choose the pasta and butter, I thought it will taste great because of the great restaurant atmosphere. Plus, I’m not going to pay $ 14 for chicken nuggets, french toast and omelette. Anyways, the pasta was BLAND. I asked for a well done sirloin burger but it had a burnt taste. Horrible. Third, Unilocal said it was 2 star restaurant. I think this place is a 3 star. Maybe Unilocal need to adjust their price point for stars. Tricky tricky tricky. By the time we were in there hungry with a toddler. The least we expect is customer service and good food. We don’t need a waitress who thinks we should not dine there when we can easily afford to… but oh the humanity of people.

Nice hidden gem nestled in the North shore. Cozy atmosphere, courteous but professional staff that make an effort to make the whole experience worthwhile. Farm-to-table dishes that are locally sourced and seasonally available. Pricing is reasonable for the care put into the food that are also appropriately sized. I was fortunate enough to be seated on the balcony overlooking the beautiful pond behind the restaurant, and listened to their live music going on inside. Explored the upstairs bathroom and discovered the whole extra area they have, that seems to be great for parties and events if you are in need of that. Lastly, while I was driving my wife did enjoy their thoughtful cocktails, their drink menu had something for everyone. Next time I go, I will be having a couple cocktails!

Let me start by saying the food was great. The service needs work. When you are spending over thirty dollars per entrée they should make sure everything gets serviced at the same time. They neglected to get one of the entrees out with the other three and instead of offering a free entrée they just said oops sorry. Everyone was done before I even got my meal. Then my husband said something to the waiter and he said ok want a free drink then. It was a complete after thought. If I were manager I would be upset by how my patrons were treated.

Came here brunch and had a great time! Our waiter was super friendly and very attentive, good service. Food was yummy too! I love the eggs Benedict on a potato cake instead of the normal english muffin. So good, and nice size portions.

This is such a wonderful brunch spot. We sat out on the porch and had a beautiful view of the water. I had the spinach, frisée & warm brie salad. It was divine! Tried the smoked salmon Benedict and it was good too. I definitely want to come back here.

Very nice place for dinner. Of all the very fancy restaurants in the city, this one is probably the best. If you’re by yourself, plan on sitting at the bar unless you want to make a reservation for just yourself, which is a little weird. I liked the duck tacos. And, menu items made up a total meal for only $ 27. Drinks were kind of expensive. Very good service. I had to sit at the bar because there were no tables without a reservation. Even with a reservation some folks at the bar with me never did get a table and decided to eat at the bar anyway. Some regulars said that the bar was much quieter indicating that the dining rooms were kind of noisy.

This place is fabulous. Just went with my bf and we’re very well taken care of. I had the crab cake burger, it was so full of flavor! Two thumbs up

Delicious food, great location and romantic ambience. Service is great and portions are generous. I haven’t had a bad meal here, always tasty and fun. Great location, seated right by the clock tower and the duck pond in Roslyn. I would highly recommend this place, especially for any type of celebration or date night.

Located on the main strip in Roslyn, tucked behind the clock-tower, lies the most adorable little restaurant called Thyme American Kitchen, serving up delicious cuisine is a cozy cottage atmosphere. As my fiancé and I waited to be seated, we had a drink at the bar. The bartender was definitely not a beer expert and was unable to tell us anything substantial about the beers on tap, but the California lager was delightful nonetheless. Then we moved to the main dining room, where we began our first course on the Valentine’s Day pre fixed menu. I started with a lobster soup, which was hearty, creamy and fulfilling. The scallops in my main course were TODIEFOR, an absolute show stopper! The shrimp were a close runner up. The vanilla parsnip purée side dish was sweeter than I was expecting with a very unique taste and texture(similar to mashed potatoes but not as thick). For dessert, the crème brûlée had a nice flavor, but the caramel seemed the tiniest bit overdone(stuck to my back teeth more than usual, tough to chew). I had a taste of the crab cake appetizer with chipotle sauce(which was excellent) and the braised short ribs, which were so rich and flavorful. Our server was friendly and efficient, but not overbearing(the trifecta of waitresses). Although I thought this meal was definitely overpriced(nearly $ 200 for 2), I would love to come back and try their regular menu.

A solid 3.5 stars for this quaint but fun restaurant in the restaurant district in Roslyn. We came for Valentine’s Day and this review is based on their prix fixe menu for the day. Offerings on the prix fixe were plentiful for starters, entrees and desserts with about 5 each. I had the duck confit(really generous portion, a whole leg) which was cooked to perfection on a bed of polenta(decent but a little bland). The braised short ribs(also on polenta for some reason) was good but mine was slightly overcooked and a bit tough. The kids had a generous portion of lamb chops(about 5 apiece) and were incredibly happy with it. Dessert was ok with the banana bread pudding taking the cake. Service was extremely friendly and attentive. The prix fixe was a bit pricey but then again, they gave generous portions of everything so hard to argue there. Will definitely be back.

Heard about Thyme from my fiancé’s parents trying it out a while back and highly recommending it for dinner. We went the day before Valentine’s Day(Saturday) and they were offering a prix fixe menu for the two days. The restaurant is situated right next to the town’s tower and pond and has quite the charm. Parking in Roslyn can be scarce, so luckily there is valet. We had a reservation but decided to have a drink at the bar when given the option of that or the table. The hostess gave us the option of sitting upstairs or downstairs — we didn’t have a preference and ended up downstairs. It was nighttime but we were near the window facing the pond. Great ambience — very intimate. The food was delicious. She started out with lobster corn chowder for the appetizer and I had the crab cake(chipotle aioli was spicy in the best way possible). Our main courses were the short rib(myself) and scallops and shrimp(her) and both were delightful and generous helpings. We finished off with dessert(I had the apple tart and she had crème brulee) and although we were already stuffed, we thoroughly enjoyed the desserts. Overall, I certainly intend to dine at Thyme in the future. The food is delicious and the atmosphere is great for a date or intimate gathering(probably not best for groups).

Thyme is such a gem. Came here last year for an unforgettable birthday brunch and then tonight came back and brought my whole family(they can’t stop raving about it.) Aside from the food being absolutely incredible with beautiful presentations, the entire feel of this place is just lovely and makes you feel right at home. Loved the friendliness of our waiter and the whole staff, drinks were on point, and the food is perfection. Thyme is definitely my favorite restaurant on Long Island BYFAR. It’s hard to compete with this place! I would really love to know who the Chef is because he deserves a lot more credit. Thyme, never change. You stole my heart forever. It will be impossible to ever replace you. P. S I highly recommend the salmon and the banana pudding for dessert.

We were a party of 4 and we all ordered different things to share . The duck taco very tender and flavorful Crispy calamari heaven, and the warm Brussels kale Caesar salad is really amazing . I’m really surprised that Thyme doesn’t have a higher review, I mean really… good food, good service, pretty views. I went for brunch and for $ 20 you get a generous amount of food and a drink! The menu is extensive brunchy things, lunchy things something for everyone. I really enjoyed it! Started with a Bloody Mary, it was really good, nice and spicy! Had to get the Benedict it was served on a potato pancake, different and it really worked. The only thing I can say is… don’t fill up on the yummy biscuit they give you to start :)

Upgrading to 4 stars for great execution with our meals last night. All 6 appetizers and main courses impressed, and this group is pretty hard to impress. I started with the special fig salad and followed with the swordfish special; both were artfully prepared and presented, which honestly I do not care that much about if it does not deliver on taste, but both delivered. The pork chop also got high rating both for presentation and taste, and they succeeded in keeping it succulent when it is so common that pork is dry.(I guess I do care about presentation because even without tasting it, I plan on trying it next time) The cookie platter(this is a don’t miss) and French press coffee ended a perfect meal. As always nice ambiance inside; classy interior designed by local architecht Matt Korn in the locations previous life. Outdoor overlooking the lake is also great when the weather is right. Upstairs is great for big groups, but lacks intimacy of downstairs My only gripe is that they do not let you transfer the bar bill to the table. I do not get it when restaurants have this policy. I get it that it is complicated running a dynamic business, but do not make your issue my problem especially before we even get a bite of food.

We came here for a Saturday brunch. The restaurant was packed, so I’m glad that we made reservations. First thing you notice when you walk in is the classy but casual atmosphere, along with the serene view of the pond from the seating area. There’s outside seating, but it was closed off because of the rain when we came here. Their weekend brunch is $ 20. They started us off with a warm raisin scone with cinnamon butter that we both really liked. I had the Challah French Toast with strawberry chutney and thought it was delicious. Although the serving of the strawberry chutney was a little small, the french toast was perfectly cooked. I’m glad that we discovered this place, because this is a great place for brunch that’s not too far from where we live.

I came here for a friends birthday brunch and it did not disappoint. We were seated promptly after everyone had arrived. We were served freshly baked scones with cinnamon butter which was divine. Their brunch deal is $ 20 for an entrée and 1 alcoholic beverage. I had the Salmon Eggs Benedict which was poached perfectly a top a crispy potato pancake(instead of a traditional muffin). It was a very large portion and so delicious. The Bloody Mary was really spicy, which I enjoyed. Great place!

Came here for dinner. The restaurant is very cute, it was night so unfortunately we could not enjoy the window view but there was a very pretty Christmas tree outside. The $ 29.95 three course menu seemed like the most legit option. I asked our server what he recommended and I decided to try the warm brussel sprout salad and the lamb shank. The salad was good. I felt like it was something I could make at home and the portion was kind of small but it was tasty. The lamb shank was huge. The sides were grilled vegetables and polenta. For some reason I felt like the seasoning or flavor could have been stronger. However it was still good. My parents ordered the paella and duck salad which they both enjoyed. The dining area was not that full but the acoustics made it pretty noisy. I would come back to try the brunch but for long Island Thyme was very good.
