We had a great time. The staff was very nice and attentive. We were seated right away with out any issues. The food was delicious, the octopus is definitely something you should try and the grilled shrimp was so fresh, very delicious. We went with a group of 6 and everyone ordered something different and everyone enjoyed their food. The dessert was even better. We will be coming back here again and again.

Nice roofdeck and friendly service but mixed experience with the food. The sauce on the lemon chicken was great but the chicken itself tasting okay but not the best. Would come back again but would try something other than the chicken.

delicious Greek, Mediterranean food but slightly overpriced. if you’re looking for a hint of the Mediterranean cuisine then I would go here but come with a full wallet.

We were a party of 16 without reservations. It was great service. Kosta was a FABULOUS waiter. Everyone was awesome. This is a MUST visit!

The food was delicious — especially the octopus. The rest of the MP «experience» was atrociously bad. 1. Aircon was not working great and it was absolutely stifling in the dining room. Asked hostess and she told me nothing she could do. 2. If you’re marketing yourself as a high end restaurant in Roslyn and charging accordingly, it would be nice if the service measured up to the rest of the product you’re selling. –Two waitstaff took care of our table. At first they both showed up trying to take drink and food orders. Then they both disappeared for good. –Wine refills ordered as mains were served showed up when the waiter came to clear plates. –Waiter flirted inappropriately with the woman at our table –25 minutes to get the check. For the price, no thanks. Plenty of good Greek food on LI — with the service to match.

Went with a party of 10. We had to make reservations and were seated on the outdoor deck, upstairs. It was a beautiful night so we enjoyed our table and location. I didn’t want to get traditional Greek fare so I looked to branch out based on the menu. We ordered the octopus, Gyro sliders and the dips combination for appetizer. All of them were very good, but, it would have been nice to know which dip was which — our servers just put it on the table and left it. I was a bit disappointed in that type of service, but, I just tried them all. For dinner, I ordered the«Dumplings» with spicy lamb sausage, sundried tomato, pine nut, spinach, tomato, feta. Maybe I am wrong, but, I thought this was going to be an actual dumpling… but, it wasn’t. It was like a pasta dumpling that was really doughy and very heavy. I was so disappointed in my choice; the sauce and sausage were very nice but the feta and the dumpling overpowered the dish and it wasn’t very appetizing. Everyone else seemed to like their meals, I tried the chicken souvlaki that my wife had because I didn’t particularly like my dish and I wasn’t very impressed. I felt it was a bit bland and could have used more spices. Overall, I don’t think I would go back which is disappointing since I was really looking forward to trying this restaurant.

Used to be excellent. Great manager & staff. New management is a big step down. Too bad. I won’t be back.

We went with a large group last night. I was totally amazed at how good the service was, considering that we ordered a lot of drinks, appetizers, meals and desserts. The grilled octopus, meat balls and dips were delicious, as was the grilled Bronzino with the beet salad. Others ordered salmon, lamb burger and steak. Everyone enjoyed their meals! Desserts were equally good. It is pricey, but worth every penny.

Review for Sunday Brunch Surprisingly brunch had a very light crowd, maybe only us plus a few other tables. The space is very inviting and comfortable, perfect for a lingering brunch. There was a couple playing jazz music, which I thought was great, it really enhanced the whole experience. Our server was lovely, very attentive and kind. Many brunch places offer a Bellini as a beverage which I usually order and am always disappointed. Not at MP, the Bellini was fantastic — the best I’ve ever had. The brunch menu has a wide variety of options and the lunch menu is also offered. The Country Cast Iron breakfast is 3 baked eggs, Greek pork sausage, bacon, roasted tomato, potatoes, grilled bread; it was excellent. Savory, hearty and satisfying. The egg souvlaki was served with the most delicious crispy potatoes. Desserts were also wonderful. MP Taverna is a fantastic place for a group brunch where you can expect great food and a great time.

Yummy … I ordered the lamb sausage and MP salad with steak and sausage(I was in a sausage mood– yes). It was all very good. Not a fan of lamb but these sausages have changed my mind!!! Love them! The salad was more like meat platter and some greens for garnish! Also a definite must if you are in the mood for meat.

The family and I went on a Saturday for their Brunch. We made a reservation but there weren’t many people in the restaurant although there seemed to be a party going on upstairs. Upon walking in there was an adorable couple playing music and singing which I liked. The waiter brought us bread with oil which was tasty. I ordered off the brunch menu and had the Country«Cast Iron» Breakfast with scrambled eggs instead of baked eggs as did most of the rest of our table. Mine came out perfect however my father’s was runnier than he would have liked. My eggs created a skillet omelet because of how the veggies were mixed in which I liked. The bacon with it came extra crispy as did the sausage although it wasn’t my favorite. The bellini’s were yummy as was the café latte I got after my meal. I may try it again!

The first time I came here, I ordered their pre-fixe dinner. I had the octopus app, a fish entrée and their chocolate cake w/ice cream dessert. 1 hour later and I threw up the entire meal. I came a second time, and ordered Risotto. It was very watery and lacked seasoning. I’m not sure what this restaurant is trying to accomplish but their dishes to me seem bland and made without care to attention. I won’t be coming back here since it’s honestly not worth my time. There are better options in Roslyn.

Came here for Valentines and was very nice. We used to go to Bistro Citron across the street, and wanted to try Pomodoro(the new Italian restaurant that took its place). But we saw live music at MP Taverna, so we came here instead. We enjoyed the food, and the atmosphere. They have a nice upstairs as well, and a beautiful bar. We had two kids with us too, and they were very accommodating… plenty of room for a double-stroller. We very much enjoyed their fish(sole), which was a generous portion that easily could feed two. I asked the waiter if any of the fish was wild or not farmed, but he said that it was all farmed(unfortunately), and there were no wild/organic options on the fish menu. Though this is a $$$-rated restaurant, it’s on the more reasonable side of that(i.e. $$ ½$). I hope to come back soon.

After eating at the location in Astoria a few times I was excited to eat here however it was soooo disappointing. We made an 8:30 reservation for 4 and we were not seated till almost 9 so while we waited we got a drink at the bar however they were out of Bombay even though the empty bottle was displayed. We ordered dinner however 3 original item choices were not available. When the dinner arrived only three entrees were served and the waiter came to the table and was surprised as he thought we only ordered three however checked his pad and saw four. So the grilled Bronzino I ordered came out 5 min later howeve it was a different one with sauce and the side I ordered was not served. Fish was ok nothing extraordinary for $ 30 All this and the three other people at my table had no napkins and silverware which we asked for twice. He also forgot my diet coke and had to remind him to bring the wine we ordered as well. Overall the food was ok not great and service was one star. Such a disappointment given we love the Astoria location Would I come back… nope.

As per usuall MP didnt dissapoint, the brunch menu is a little different than the one in Astoria, but they had the cast iron skillet with that great side salad, and i love that they all have good beer, well done MP.

How does this place only have 3.5 stars? You guys must be spoiled with all of your Greek options, but I can tell you that, as someone who has no access to good Greek, this place really is legit. I actually find this area of Roslyn pretty cute. Parking can sometimes be challenging(can we talk about the 7 day a week paid lot across the street? Like really, Roslyn?), but I’ve never had too much trouble. I like this restaurant’s atmosphere, and my boyfriend and I have enjoyed more than one date night here. Starting out their bread is AWESOME. It’s a Greek place so it doesn’t need bread per se, but I can’t help but eat theirs in addition to the pita that comes with the trio dip. That trio dip [hummus, tzatziki, and eggplant] is the stuff of dreams(5), and I literally run to this place when I return back to Long Island. The branzino is AMAZING(5). I love that it’s deboned and I have never been disappointed. I have never had a bad meal here, so I’m super surprised at all of the negative reviews. If you’re into branzino and any Greek dips — please check this place out. I’d love to see it get the Unilocal recognition it deserves.

Love the lamb burger. But tonight decided to try the special veal chop. It looked delicious, but was meh at best… Should have stuck with the burger. Started with special watermelon salad which I highly recommend. It was our first time on outdoor deck, which is perfect on a summer night. Service was great. Especially like the employee wearing the kicks with Mets colors and sporting a Mr Met tat. My dinner was a 3 due to main but service and ambiance was a 5. The lamb burger is a 5+

This place is way too expensive for what we got. Can’t say the food is bad because it’s not but it’s just not worth the money. The staff was friendly when we came in and it’s a pretty looking restaurant. We could see that they had an upstairs outdoor area that’s pretty inviting but we didn’t set that we sat downstairs by the bar. I don’t know the servers name I didn’t keep the receipt but she was very friendly. My mother got the beat salad and it was $ 14. $ 14 for this little salad that was not worth that kind of money. And yeah my lamb burger was good but it didn’t have a lot of flavor even with feta cheese. And again not worth the money. My dad’s seafood paella was quite good and personally I would recommend it but my dad thought it was too spicy. We like to go into that area to find new places to eat but we will not go back here. It was a unanimous vote to not return

It’s a local restaurant for me. I have those evenings when cooking isn’t an option, or better yet I’m just not in the mood. So, I’ll venture down the road about a mile, sit at the bar, order a cocktail or a glass of wine(decent wine list) and, either an MP salad(it’s Greek, good simple dressing that makes it special… what’s in that dressing??? maybe I should ask) with chicken sometimes steak on top, or their really tasty Lemon chicken. Either way I always leave there satisfied. It’s just the right amount when we split the salad,(no meats) and the Lemon Chicken. Here’s the catch, substitute their SMASHFRIES and have them served«on the side» not in the same plate as the chicken. The chicken is served with a delicious sauce, but if the fries are in that plate they will loose that crispy texture. Those fries are Amazing! They’re flat and crunchy. What’s really good is when you take the fries and dip them in the lemon sauce yummmm. The chicken is REALLY good too. It’s served in a cast iron pan which keeps the temperature nice and hot. I never order desert, I don’t have a big sweet tooth, but I did last time I was there. I order the Apple Napoleon baklava I have to say I might start ordering desert for now on, it hit the sweet spot(no pun intended). All and all it consistently good, priced well, and I like that. They have multiple locations, Westchester, Manhattan, Brooklyn.
