In a town with an overwhelming number of Italian restaurants, this simple pizzaria/restaurant has down home, delicious food. The soups are always fresh, the tomato onion pizza is authentic and spaghetti and meatballs so delicious. I’ve never had a bad meal here.

I was a regular customer for a while the food went down hill tremendously and as you can see in other ratings here the owner and manager are a real bunch of homely arrogant greasballs with nothing to be arrogant about between the two of them they might have an IQ of 70 do yourself a favor don’t even bother trying it you will regret it

I took my girlfriend and son to LI from California to visit my family, and I knew if I skipped eating at Vittorio’s I’d regret it… Everytime I’m in NY, this is the first place I go to and the ONLY problem is that they can’t overnight pizza. Trust me, I’ve considered it. Hands down the best.

We ordered take out last night from here, pizza and spaghetti and meatballs. The pizza was eh but my bf loves there ceasar salad pizza with chicken. We got one half that and one half the other side white with eggplant. It looked like they just slapped it on top after cooking the pizza. It was not my favorite. The person on the phone when ordering was also extremely rude, either he did not speak English or just had an attitude. I am not one to go overboard over things like that but he just kinda pushed it…

Although we can’t be considered«regulars,» we always stop by Vittorio’s for a couple slices when in the neighborhood. The place really does exemplify why New York is famous for its pizza. And being greeted upon arrival by the owner is part of the experience — and what keeps us coming back. On this most recent visit, we took the time to sit down for a proper dinner — and what a dinner it was! I must, however, single out the fried calamari — it was perfect! That’s right, we finally found the holy grail of fried calamari: hot, crispy, golden perfection! Not the burnt, chewy, and greasy imitations so pervasive these days. It’s obvious that this restaurant keeps its oil fresh, which, by the way, is a key sign of a clean kitchen. Kudos, too, to the friendly and attentive waitresses. A bravura performance all around!

Love their outdoor seating area just wished it wasn’t so closed in kind of liked it more before they closed it. Love their salads with grilled chicken over it, their penne ala vodka and my personal favorite their calamari. Their waitress staff needs a little more training but other than that the food is great

The manager and/or owner is an A**hole. I arrived at the pizza place with a friend looking to order a pie for take-out. We approached the counter and said hello to the middle-aged man behind it. He remained silent and instead stared at us. We figured that was our queue to give our order so we began to ask about certain toppings. He begins explaining the specialty pies that were available. We asked if we could add certain things. He says no. Simply no, in a stern voice. My friend, a little aggravated calmly explains to him«we’d pay for the extra toppings of course». He continues to stare so we decide on ordering a personalized pie to avoid problems. We asked about adding chicken and other toppings, he quickly suggests a topping. However, he has an accent(so do my parents) which is fine so I asked him to repeat his suggestion and he snickers and asks«what do you mean you don’t know what chicken cutlet is»? At this point I wanted to walk right out but we’ve already gotten this far. So we finalize the order, he makes the pizza and we’re good to go. The pizza wasn’t bad but it wasn’t great either, at least not for that much aggravation. Nice place all in all but they will continue losing customers if he remains at the front. Very rude.

Maybe the manager(or possibly the owner) should definitely not be the face of this place, so rude! We ordered in advance, went to pick up after about 20 minutes and the one large pie still wasn’t ready. Had to wait inside standing up(for about 15 minutes) because there’s no seating(aside from dine in seating) and he gave me an attitude saying«it’s not ready yet!» then started yelling at the poor pizza man to hurry up, not his fault he’s the only one working while you just stand there being nasty to customers and snatching the money from them! Personality is everything. Sometimes it’s the connection with customers that keeps them wanting to come back, not just the food. Not that the pizza made a good impression either. We went here when they first opened and the pizza was decent but after a long time, we’ve realized it’s only gotten worse. Lack of the one topping we ordered and the other was on the whole thing not half, like we specifically asked. Too doughy(practically raw considering we asked for well done). Cheese tasted funny. Too much oily sauce. Over all, no intention to ever return. Wish I could return the pie. Hopefully they change for the sake of their business if they wanna stick around with the tough competition they have around this neighborhood. Some people rave about this place, I for sure don’t see why.

Haven’t been there in awhile but I used to go all the time. Almost everyday lol. Food was so good I would just go to them instead of any other pizza place or delis. They are the best around and gotta stop by for dinner! Only thing I would wish to be different is to deliver but it’s so good I’ll come to you! Lol

The owner of this place is a d**k. I ordered a chicken caesar slice and he told me he wasn’t making anymore so I ordered a personal sized one which is 3x the price of the slice. After sitting down, this guy takes out a FULLPIE of chicken caesar and stares me down as if to say«haha I ripped you off.» Thanks a lot buddy. Good way to treat a regular customer.

I have been to here numerous times, even though this establishment is out of my way. The pizza are great, especially the broccoli rabe and sausages that we ordered specially for takeout; hint– a great appetizer when you asked them to cut into bite size. Beside pizza, their soups and entrees are great too. Give it a try, hope you have the same wonderful experience we had.

Absolutely love this pizza place! Great selection of special slices, and the crust on the pizza has a sweet taste. Always stop in when I am in the area!

Their pizza hits and exceeds the mark! This is what the rest of the country is referring to when they talk about Pizza. Friendly staff, great service and a bar section that is inviting and sociable. A real home run!

Great place — ended up going twice in one day! I’ve been in the area countless times and somehow never ate here — my mistake. The Vittorios special Is excellent and one of my favorite combinations even though I’m usually a plain pie person. If you’re in Glen Cove you have to give these guys a shot.
