If you look at my other reviews, you’ll see that I don’t like ANYTHING. But, yeah, I’m all about this Acme (or «The American Store» as my grandmother used to call it). The Acme chain, has a pretty well– deserved bad reputation. Many of them are dingy and generally unpleasant; not the Glen Mills one! This one is clean, the employees are friendly and helpful, there are seldom lines at the cashiers, and the prices are reasonable. They also have an awesome beer section now with a HUGE selection of different beers, as well as a small bar (which I guess is for the Dads that are sent to the supermarket against their will). I do notice that sometimes the meat, especially the chicken, seems a bit watered down, but on the other hand I highly recommend their short-ribs which are always meaty and tender. Going here is, on the whole, a pleasant, normal experience, which coming from me is a high compliment.

The manager, Anthony is a perfect example of how great customer service should be handled! Very nice guy and you could tell he’d go out of his way to accommodate a customer. Also Nick was very helpful when i was unable to find a 6 pack of chocolate covered strawberries for me and my boyfriend for Valentine’s Day. He worked with Anthony to separate a larger tray of chocolate covered strawberries so that I’d be able to get 6.
Just yesterday Anthony helped me one again with an insulted bag with a broken zipper. Very nice customer service at the desk as well.
Just one word of advice for shoppers of this location: avoid the cashier who has reddish hair who often wears a brace on her wrist. She’s an older woman with a foul attitude. Thankfully the great customer service and other helpful associates make up for this foul cashier.
Also, yay for the new beer garden!!!

This is a nice Acme although the way it’s organized is a little different from other grocery stores. Anyway, I do a lot of my shopping at Target in the same shopping center, but I will pop into the Acme if I need special veggies or a good cut of meat (Target doesn’t have much in the way of meat) or just something else that I couldn’t find at Target. I’ve always thought Acme was one of the more expensive grocery stores although they do have some nice sales sometimes. I usually have about $ 50 worth of stuff in my cart by the time I leave the produce/bakery/prepared foods area: p
