I would never get Chinese food from there again. When calling in my order I was told in ten minutes it would be ready. Upon arrival I was asked my name. I was told it was not ready to please wait. After waiting another ten minutes I was asked was sesame chicken in my order to which I replied yes. After another ten minutes the cook came out to review the whole order. He stated the order was lost. After another fifteen minutes my order was ready. I took all this in stride and thought at least I was getting fresh hot newly made food. Upon getting home I unpacked this forty dollars worth of food and it was inedible. The sesame chicken was hard and over fried to the point of unchewable. The fried rice was was awful brown looking dry and burnt. The egg rolls dumplings and chicken with broccoli were equally bad. Needless to say the entire order went in the trash. We ordered pizza. If it wasn’t so late I would have brought it back. Save yourself the trip. There are other local take outs much better.

First off, the owner is SUPERFRIENDLY… Unfortunately the food I had did not say much… The house special fried rice was very dry, & not very tasty. The wonton soup was of a peculiar reddish color(my wife was not pleased with the taste of it)…The ribs were decent, but not for the distance I have to travel to get them from there… the egg-rolls were ok, kinda flabby like the ones from PF Changs, but NOT as tasty as Changs… the WORST part was having to wash ALL my clothes, including coat, because I waited for my order INSIDE the place… VERYPOOR ventilation!

I’ve had food here three times now – for takeout and delivery. Warning – the place itself looks like nothing. But it’s been around a long time in the middle of town, and won the 2011 Best of Bergen award for Chinese Takeout. The chef is truly old school. He regularly visits Chinatown for essential ingredients like authentic xaosing wine, the best sweet and dark shoyus, and can make special requests like steamed wontons in hunan peanut or Szechuan sauce. Possibly the best Chinese spareribs I’ve had west of the Bridge. Super meaty, tender, and the basting sauce wasn’t too sweet, really allows you to taste the five spice and pork flavor. I found small as well as large bones to gnaw on, the chef chose them for the quality of the meat, not the uniformity of the bones. Both times I ordered, the portion was so generous I was sure they’d given me a large order by mistake. Lin’s fried rice is the real thing, far more welcome than the parboiled spanish yellow rice and bean sprouts you see passing for local takeout these days. It’s made the old fashioned way, with leftover white rice, dark soy sauce, wine, white scallion tips, scrambled egg and roast pork chunks. The vegetable egg foo yung has chunks of fresh broccoli, mushrooms, string beans, snow peas, onions and peppers. The fact that I rave about real veggies in a vegetable order shows just how cruddy most local Chinese takeout has become lately. The prices are just a bit higher, the wait maybe a bit longer. Good is worth waiting for. I grew up eating high quality Cantonese and have spent time in Hong Kong. This is the place to go for a taste of the same.

The people that run Lin’s house seem friendly. The quality of the food here seems good too(especially compared to a few of the bad Chinese take-out places around the area). Everything I have tried here tasted good. I think that they have the best egg rolls and pork fried rice around(for strictly take-out/delivery Chinese places, at least). Portion sizes are around average for a take-out place but prices are higher than average for the area(the highest of any place I have been to in Fair Lawn/Glen Rock). To make matters a little worse, the lunch specials do not include egg rolls(as a Chinese egg roll addict, this disappointed me greatly). They offer a couple of lobster dishes, which is surprising(have not tried them yet). I am not sure if they deliver. I have only ordered from them once but plan to return. My only real complaint: The Styrofoam containers they package some of the food in. They have a tendency to spill everywhere and create a real mess is you are not careful.

I have ordered from Lins house in the past! Food is very good but their prices are a bit high. I just placed a call for delivery and ordered the house special rice! Review to come

Their house special fried rice is pretty amazing. I find this to be the best Chinese food take out spot north of the garden state plaza. You will not be disappointed in the quality and quantity of food you get here. Very good Chinese food! Update as of 11÷28÷11: the fried rice is called young chow fried rice… think of it as a Chinese style paella… it’s pretty great! My family and I enjoyed a huge dinner here and we ordered a variety of things. The roast pork chow fun was exceptional; boneless BBQ ribs were taste but slightly dry(always get meat on the bone, especially ribs), altho they’re great the next day; general tso chicken is pretty standard; if you like sweet I suggest the pineapple chicken or the sweet and sour chicken; also, if you want any dishes on the spicier side, make sure to ask for it schezuan style.
