Great place great food. Order anything you can’t go wrong. There is always one of the owners around to make sure everything is done right. The takeout family feast is their hidden gem enough to feed 4 adults and my sons lunch the next day. Try them out.

We heard they had really great music. We went and yes they did — BUT! — the quality of the wine and food –UGH! We each wanted a glass of wine and I asked for a sample. It was terrible. Tried another, also terrible, then a third, same TERRIBLE. Then the bar tender came to the table in a threatening manner and demanded I not«insult» his wine!!! We ordered a fish dinner but did not get the salad so we had to ask, so it came after the meal. Mediocre salad at best. The Fish dish had a «fishy» old smell. . Seems to be a real great place to hear jazz, but hope they will put a small amount of care into their food and wine selection as they do in selecting their artists. Packed with educated, sophisticated jazz/music lovers, applause after every solo, etc. Would highly recommend this place for live music. But the food –ouch! Drink your favorite scotch or other drinks, but avoid the bar wine for sure.

I recently had a private party at the Glen Rock Inn. Positives were they were very accommodating in the PLANNING of the party beforehand, however on the day of the party, it was executed very poorly. Our party was from 2pm-6pm. NOFOOD was put out on the tables until 3pm(and I also mean, just bread to snack on) 60 people waiting for an hour with nothing. When I asked one of the THREE people handling the party(which was also very disorganized because I did not know who to go to for anything) — I was told the bread would be coming out with the pasta course and would be soon. However, one whole hour is too long to wait for anything to be brought out, in my opinion. Again, I will emphasize that everything seemed very disorganized and it seemed to me they were unprepared for my event(whether this was the course or not, this is how it seemed). Case in point— It was known to the three people dealing with us that I was the host, however, not one of them came up to me to collect a dinner order from me. I will admit I was milling around talking to people, but this what you’re supposed to do when you’re the host and I would’ve expected them to make sure at least we were taken care of. My husband brought me over a plate that he thought was mine, however I realized after the fact, that it was one of my guests whose order had come out incorrectly temped(steak) and was left on the table.(She also did not get her food until everyone was almost done eating – I found this out later on). For the amount of money I paid for this party, I was extremely disappointed in the service here. An automatic 20 gratuity was in place already and I honestly feel the service didn’t even try or care because they knew they were getting paid. I will not return. I am giving two stars instead of one star because I will give credit that the food did taste very good– when it finally arrived. I was also overcharged for liquor and when I did bring this up to management, it was promptly taken care of the next day, so I will give them credit for that as well.

Good people… good food… good prices. This is the perfect place to go when you don’t know what you want to eat. They have a variety of food and it is all made well. Large portions and great selection of craft beers. We have been going here for years and appreciate the changing menu and old favorites. They have the best Caesar salad that can be topped with a variety of proteins. Sliders, soups, wings and quesadillas are all good. Entrees come with soup or salad, but save room for the apple crumble dessert. The bar is worth visiting just for a Guinness or Irish coffee.

If you don’t like loud music don’t go to this place — toooooo loud. My boyfriend is friends with the owner and its a local watering hole so I stuck it out. The food was good though and the service was really good. I had their Disco Fries which is French fries with mozz and gravy — really yummy. My boyfriend had calamari. I thought that was excellent. I had a nice red merlot — in a gorgeous wine glass. They were very generous portions that I couldn’t finish my wine! We’ll go back but hopefully when their isn’t a band — I’m getting old lol

Pretty cool spot. I think the pictures that you see via Unilocal don’t actually do the place justice. Very clean spot with more space than you’d think. There are two sections when you walk in which is a little confusing. If you go right its a family style restaurant section and if you go left its pub area. My boyfriend and I sat in the bar section(pub area) at a booth. When we walked in there was a little confusion on who to talk to(in fairness it looks like there are a lot of regulars that go here, cant blame them!). Who do I speak with to sit… I wanted more direction on who to speak with to sit where and by «direction,» really just guidance from anyone. Is it open seating… Bar tender gave us a look a few times while we were standing there but didn’t say anything. I think a «hey you can have a seat if something is open, otherwise someone will be with you in a sec» would of been the icing on the cake really. A nice older gentleman eventually came over and asked us if we were looking to sit. This was after we went to the formal restaurant section and were told it’d be 45 minute wait for the pub; I told my boyfriend I’d rather just wait till something opens literally at the bar so we walked back to the pub section. No harm no foul, we stuck it out. The gentleman sat us within 10 minutes or so. The waiters are friendly and the vibe is pretty cool. It’s a blend of what seemed like regulars from all ages(however they are very welcoming to all). The food was impressive for a pub; bet it has something to do with the fact that the place is also half restaurant haha. We got the hot appetizer sampler for 2 and the wings. I liked everything I ate on the sampler. The wings were also good but the«spicey» sauce is very very mild for those of you who like kick! Anywho– the place is something to be seen. I enjoyed myself. We were there for football sunday and the service was on point.

Went tonight with the family to Glen Rock Inn for dinner. The place is divided into what seems two completely separate spaces — a dining room and bar — each has it’s own separate door. We turned right to the dining room and were promptly greeted and seated. We got the menus — a standard long one and then a pile of other on a clip board. Some were for dinner — some for lunch and a specials menu. We were overwhelmed. After a long review of the menu(did I mention it was huge?) — we made our choice. We got freshly baked bread and crackers which was a really nice touch. Together with the entrees we had salads — which made the whole thing a complete meal. The salads were nice, but with pretty standard sauces and nothing spectacular. We got one sliced steak, one chicken marsala, one burger and one of the pasta night specials — the three cheese ravioli. First, the good — The steak and chicken were nicely done and tasty. My wife oped to get the Chicken Marsala with linguine — which probably works better than all the other starches that were offered. My fries with the steak weren’t that good — the frozen, non that great, fries. The hamburger was OK — although it lacked taste and entity. It would strongly benefit from additional searing on the grill. Finally — the Ravioli was very bland with a funky tomato sauce taste. It was one of the worst pasta dishes I ever tasted. We also got two desserts, both chocolate desserts and both were less than stellar. I would strongly recommend to the owner to substantially trim down the menu and push to infuse more taste into it’s dishes. The service was excellent — prompt, but not pushy and very nice. Value is superb. All in all — I would otherwise give the place 3*, but because of the excellent service and value — happy to make it a 4*. If food taste/quality would improve — we’d be regulars.

Went here recently for lunch with my family. It was a Saturday and since we sat in the bar so we were able to take advantage of some of the football specials since a college game was on. We were seated in the booths, and they were very comfortable. We were given numerous different menus to look at. Ranging from the regular lunch menu, to a specials menu, to the football menu and even the dinner menu. The football menu had great deals on it. I ordered the lobster roll, came with 2 for 16 bucks. They were really good! I was hesitant at first but i wanted something light and it did the job. Also ordered at the table was a french onion soup, that looked great. And a turkey club, which was huge, you could definatley split it. Next time i come i really want to try the wings. I saw multiple orders going out and every time my mouth watered. The drink deals were great and they have a really good tap selection.

Good food and good service. One star less due to unappealing décor and ambiance(matter of taste). Nevertheless, one of the better places in the area. Finally got a really REAR hamburger, the way I like it :) We will come again.

Cute place… We Sat in the bar area. Had the calamari which was good. My husband had the chicken parm he said was good but had 2 fatty pieces in it. I had the«maneater» which is like a French dip. I liked it a lot. We tried this place with groupon & will go back. Prices are reasonable. Waiter was nice and on top of everything. Enjoy. no we weren’t celebrating anything.

Had a very nice dinner last night. Was not sure given the mixed reviews here but most seem satisfied and reason #21325 sealed the deal. Celebrating a big event for a good friend who loves sports :) Had a reservation and a groupon deal and the welcome could not have been better. Was crowded but not packed, and we did wait a few minutes for our table, but it was so the hostess could get us something easier for me as I don’t walk well. Basketball game to watch while we waited maybe 5 minutes. Our server was attentive and made good suggestions. He understood my wife’s aversion to mayonnaise, and was clear about content of dishes. The crab cakes were excellent as an appetizer; light and filled with plenty of crabmeat, not bready filler like some. Among the 4 of us we had sliced steak, Shepards pie, and prime rib. Everyone was pleased with the food, and I have half the shepherds pie leftover for lunch today. Dessert was really good, a double chocolate cake slice worth savoring slowly with our coffees(my wife had the Mexican) which were as good as what I make myself. My only disappointment was that the espresso machine was broken. Overall, a wonderful evening. I would certainly come back, even without the groupon, as the prices were reasonable. And as other reviews have pointed out, a good family atmosphere as well as probably a great place to hang at the bar and watch a game. And they make an excellent martini. Only one caveat. Parking on street is hit or miss. They need a parking lot.

I have to say that I was a little hesitant to order food here based on other reviews that suggest coming for the bar and atmosphere only. I am totally shocked at the low ratings of this place — no judgment, just surprised! My family and I came here for the J. Taylor Leach Quartet featuring Steve LaSpina on a Saturday evening. Right off the bat, our waiter had a great sense of humor and I noticed the rest of the staff to be very pleasant as well. I liked the atmosphere too. The bar area was very cozy and I was thinking it’d be a nice place to have a drink in the winter time especially. I was already a fan of the place, but worried about the food. We ordered the chicken quesadilla appetizer. It was delicious and really big! It also came with salsa, sour cream, and guacamole, which I appreciated(I don’t even think the guac was extra — bonus points!). I cannot remember what I had to drink, but I imagine it was a pumpkin beer. I just checked out their beer & wine menu on the website and noticed that they have a few different pumpkin beers to choose from — I must come back soon! For my entrée I had the famous open sliced steak sandwich and so did my mom. We both really enjoyed our meals while listening to the live jazz. The only part of the meal I didn’t like was the chocolate mousse, which I thought tasted similar to a frozen Weight Watchers one that I’d tried years ago. Sorry to say! Now that I’ve tasted Glen Rock Inn food for myself, I definitely want to go back to try new things! I also want to give dessert another chance because it seems that their seasonal menu has picked up a coffee ice cream mud pie and homemade pumpkin cheesecake! Hell, maybe I’ll just go overload on the pumpkin beer and cheesecake! Fall’s here, why not?!

Great food, great atmosphere, and great service!!! We were long time Glen Rock residents who moved to the Midwest, but we had the good sense to return to Bergen County. Before we left Glen Rock, we frequently went to the Inn. We had a truly magnificent dinner this evening at The Glen Rock Inn. From start to finish, everything was wonderful. My wife and I shared the crabcake sliders for an appetizer. For the entrée, she had the sliced steak open sandwich with fried shrimp, while I had the penne pasta. The staff made us feel at home; they could not do enough for us. We had been away from The Glen Rock Inn for too long, but we will be returning MANY times.

I ordered something nice on the menu that had a lot of ingredients including Onions and I asked if I could have the dish with all of the items but no onions and was told no problem, and then my to go dish came when I got home with onions all over the place. What language do I have to speak to make my point. Basically I wasted a lot of money because the dish was not cheap.

Came here for a team lunch on our break today. I absolutely loved how we sat outside, as we’re in the office all day. It was a little chilly, so I would’ve preferred no umbrellas, but that’s just my cold body! The menu was very plentiful and it was cool how they have Whole Wheat pizza. No Whole Wheat wraps though. I decided on th Turkey Club with no mayo/bacon. It was extremely dry. The bread was burnt in some places and undercooked in others. Menu said it was Multigrain, but it looked more like Whole Wheat to me. Same blandness and some burnt with the bland Sweet Potato Fries. All plates looked like they had a random amount of fries and everything was thrown on them. Probably better for a drink outside?

Excellent meal tonight. German sampler. The wursts were from Fair Lawn’s Swiss Pork Store, so I knew it would be tasty! Great service, friendly atmosphere, Thursday is Jazz night, a couple of cats were warming up as we were leaving. Very good place, indeed.

Reason number 21325 why I love coming home to the Glen Rock Inn: Though in NYC territory, the owner without even so much as a nod in my direction changed the closest TV in my range of sight to the Flyers vs. Sabres game.
