Went to lunch here today and was a very nice atmosphere inside. I ate the sliders and were delicious. They also have a big selection of beers in bottle and on tap.

I’m sitting here, right now and I get that it is 10:45 and they are wrapping up but one skinny little boy with a lip ring is singing in the kitchen. «Its closing time so everyone get the f*** out» and mocking people at the bar by repeating everything they say. Not to mention he was smoking at the front door and I’m pretty sure he blew smoke in my face on the way in. WTF?

I used to work for the previous owners of this restaurant throughout high school and college before it was Railyard Tavern, so I was reluctant to come back to my old stomping grounds. Came with a group of 5 just for some pizzas, while we did work for a research study we were participating in. I have previously had their pizza a couple of times when ordering take-out, and thought it was pretty decent. We had some allergies to be mindful of, so we ended up choosing a large Veggie and a large De Parma to share. The De Parma was by far a much better choice. The veggie pie honestly just reminded me of something out of a box. The service was fine, and even though we didn’t have any cocktails, I have been here at night for a couple drinks but its never anything special. Honestly, there isn’t too much that is memorable about this place. Maybe it’s more appropriate for a sporting event since there is ample space for game viewing, but nothing I could rely on in town otherwise.

This is a pretty good place. It’s a good place to watch sporting events. We were here to watch some of the NFL playoff games– good television and sitting arrangements. They have a decent selection of beers, and I thought the food was very good as well. The bartenders and staff were all friendly and attentive. I would definitely go back. If I were to recommend anything, at all, I would say that something about the vibe of the place lacks a little character, maybe a little sterile. Maybe more things on the walls, like sports memorabilia, or something that plays on the Railyard idea. I know a lot of places are going for the more institutional look these days, but just my own personal preference. Not a deal breaker though.

We tried this place after reading the reviews. It was a good choice. Food and service is great. I have something different each time I go and never have been disappointed. Totally recommend it!

Standard food, ok service. Very clean, comfortable inviting place. Attended a fantastic private party where they served family style. That was really enjoyable and I would recommend highly for private party’s or functions. When we went back for dinner, it was fine, but nothing super impressive.

Okay. Where do i start? Lets start with food since thats why the majority of us have a Unilocal account to begin with. I ordered the Sliced steak sandwich on butter garlic texas toast with rosemary potatoes $ 16 I took it to go(details on that in a few). The steak was okay. Juicy n not bad. Not great but pretty decent. I only got 1 piece of texas toast. Maybe thats the norm? It was good but whoaaaa COMPLETELY wet! way too much butter and oil. You know how pancake gets when you put half a bottle of syrup on it? Yeah. Not good. The potatoes were tasty. Not worth $ 16 tho. Id pay $ 10-$ 12 the most. Sooo lets get to the fun stuff shall we? I came here once before several months ago and food was ok. I figured i’ll try it again why not? So i come inside and the bar area was packed. So i noticed a chair by the corner and i asked the waiter if i can sit here and he said yes. The bartender told me i can sit there as well but its a serving area so i might feel a bit uncomfortable. I said thats fine i won’t stay here long i’ll just order a sandwich and a couple of drinks and once a seat is avail i’ll just move. He said thats fine. Soo i ordered my meal and a glass of wine. I get the wine and take a sip then next thing you know some rude obnoxious guy comes behind me n says«Thats the Kings chair, your sitting on my chair you need to get up». I laughed a bit thinking somebody is trying to be funny so when i turned around i see a big guy walking away wearing the black Railyard tshirt so i go to the waitress near me n say«is that the owner?» She goes«yeah and he’s serious too he WILL make you get up». Ummm okaaaaaay fine. I’ll get up. Im in a good mood. I just came back from getting a massage. No problem. But you think he would accomodate me? Nope. He came back n said«yeah sorry but you sitting here would be in the way of the servers». Really dude? You’re like 350lbs and You sat down for 1 minute and took the wholeeee corner. YOU are in the way but hey, your the owner. You call the shots. Sooo i feel a bit akward. Standing waaay behind. Out of the way. Drinking my wine fast because i wanted to get out asap. I Told the bartender i’ll take it to go. Btw if you don’t want anybody sitting in the corner then you should have a sign or better yet have no chair. Your waiter and bartender didn’t have a problem with me sitting down but you did. «The Kings chair». I waited for about 10 mins for my sandwich and out of those 10 mins he sat down for 1 min. Oh. He also said«i would get you a chair and you can sit right over there but then you would be in the way of the servers.» So why bother telling me that? He’s just simply Rude and Obnoxious. I will never come back to this place

From the outside, this place looks like any neighborhood bar on your corner. But the inside is actually pretty nice. Private lot is also convenient. I came here only for the drinks. To be honest, the menu is more on the pricier side for what it is. And the server came to check on me every 5 minutes to see if I was ready to order food. I probably should’ve said from the beginning that I was only here for drinks.

While in Ridgewood with my sister, we decided we were in the mood for a couple of beers and some bar food. After a quick check on Unilocal, the Rail Yard looked like the perfect spot. Draft beer was ice cold, off to a good start. Menu isn’t humongous but there’s a wide variety of options for all tastes and diets. Game plan was to share 3 small plates. Our appetizer dish was combination between tater tots & jalapeño poppers. Cool concept! They were better than expected, not too greasy and came with a tasty dipping sauce. The portabella mushroom dish was my favorite. Grilled portabella with bread crumbs, roasted red peppers, pesto and a zesty garlic sauce that I could very well lap up. Spinach & artichoke dip was also top notch. Not too heavy and you could actually taste the spinach! –1 star cuz the service could’ve been better. The busboy was more attentive than the waitress. For the first time in a long time I gave 18% tip instead of 20+. Nothing disastrous, but bad enough to mention. Interior is nice and prices are pretty reasonable. Overall, not a bad spot. Definitely returnable, much updatable in the future.

On several recent visits during the Playoffs/Stanley Cup Finals in hockey we sat at the bar and watched the game. One Saturday night they had a band(I believe they do every saturday) shout out to Joe, Yess and the other staff who took care of us. Have not had any food from here yet but will get back to you on it if I do.

Let’s face it. It’s a local bar. It’s not high end. However it cost $ 75.00 for Jon and I to eat there. We both had club soda. We started with fried calamari. The breading was to heavy. They should just use it for breading cutlets. My seafood dish was way to spicy. I wish I had known before I ordered it. Will I go back… I don’t think so.

Stopped in with my fiancé and our moms for a early dinner this past Saturday and it was early, empty and quieter without the band. We had the waitresses full attention and she was super friendly and helpful with the menu. Suggested his mom order an awesome summer rum drink which she loved and was sure to refill our drinks and bread quickly. 2 of us has the special of shrimp with arugula scampi and it was addictive and delicious: not at all greasy, oily or over buttered… was simply perfect. The shrimp were plentiful and cooked perfectly. Mom had the stuffed salmon stuffed with veggies and loved it and fiancé had a terrific burger. This place is super close to my moms and reasonably priced for an excellent meal. We will definitely frequent regularly.

I really, really wanted to like The Rail Yard Tavern. Being a literally 3 minute drive from my house and considering I do not cook at all, it could have easily become my go to place for one to two dinners per week. I read the Elite reviews some of which were less than favorable but were written when the place was in its infancy. Over time, restaurants improve and work out their kinks. If the place was new I may have even considered a third star but tonight’s meal was horrendous in virtually every sense of the word. The only reason I went with two stars over one was because the food was edible and not completely awful. Let’s start with the service. We were seated with menus a full 20 minutes before we were acknowledged by our waitress. She came over and immediately apologized for our prolonged wait. Okay, shit happens. She was busy, distracted or whatever but she did say she was sorry and I figured things would improve. They didn’t. She took our drink orders and we ordered appetizers. Again, crickets. The wait for the food was excruciating, another ½ hour of my life gone with no further apology or explanation. Drinks took about 10 minutes. No water or bread with just conversation and our iPhones to occupy our time. Speaking of which, I again checked Unilocal to see if I had perhaps misspelled the name of the place or had been hallucinating when I read the positives, the vast majority of which were written by people with less than 5 reviews, hmmmm. Worth mentioning is that we were in a high traffic area of the restaurant so she did have the opportunity to walk by us at least 30 times during which she didn’t utter a word. Didn’t ask us if we wanted to order another drink or even if we wanted to order an actual meal. My son was still hungry so he flagged her down and ordered a piece of cake, not wanting to risk another prolonged wait for more food to be prepared. This brings me to the food. Complete Restaurant Depot/diner quality with absolutely no embellishments or creativity whatsoever. My grilled shrimp was 8 medium shrimp on skewers, not jumbo as claimed on the menu with a dish of what tasted like jarred duck sauce. My son’s chicken and fries were both clearly frozen. His cake was also cold and apparently recently defrosted. As anyone of you who knows me or follows my reviews, I am very hesitant to skewer a restaurant. I cannot even remember the last time I had such a disappointing experience and believe me, I probably eat at over 100 different place in a given year. I also cannot recall the last time I tipped under 20−25%. This time I gave maybe 12% and, given the experience, I think I was being generous. Again, shit happens but in this case it will not be happening to me again, at least not here.

Looking to watch a game/enjoy some food… The Rail Tavern is your spot. Their gluten free menu is extensive and delicious. The regular menu has a large selection as well and amazing. Ask for Melissa at the bar. She’s funny and very helpful.

The Railyard Tavern is a great place for very reasonably priced food, drinks, entertainment, live music, and friends. They have a wide variety of food and drink specials on their menu. They even have a pizza oven with tons of choices! Starting Sept. 8-every monday night– will feature a jazz/blues jam session! This will be hosted by some of the top musicians in the area. All instruments and vocals are welcome come sit in or just listen. No cover and all ages! Wow! Also, if you haven’t heard, the have live jazz every thursday as well… Tons of space, plenty of tvs and rooms for dinner, the bar, or the main room! Great new place, only been open since January. I advise checking it out soon!

I come to The Rail Yard Tavern practically every other Thursday for the live jazz happy hour when the J. Taylor Leach Quartet is playing. The place itself is pretty big. There’s the front restaurant & bar area with all of the tvs, then if you walk through the doorway there’s the pizza place, and also a back room to sit if you want to be in a quieter section away from the band. I’ve been testing out a bunch of different food on the menu. Some items blew me away. Their sweet potato fries are right at the top of my list. They are perfectly crispy on the outside with that sweet potato goodness on the inside. I snatched some of my friends regular ol french fries last time I was there, and those are even delish. Furthermore, I have been saving up my carb count all week so I can indulge in their super delicious Margherita personal pizza tonight! I have been looking forward to it ALL day!!! Home stretch baby. I will be sure to order it with one of their $ 7 proseccos, which I enjoy because it comes in a mini prosecco bottle and I get a little more than 1 glass out of it. Hooray for Thirsty Thursday! My parents have had some of the entrees and raved about them too. My mom’s actually driven up from an hour away to meet me here for dinner multiple times. Other things on the menu that are pretty good, but not my all time faves: quesadillas, fish & chips, etc. Haven’t had a bad meal/experience yet. As the Duchess, I’m obvi a fan.
