Really love this spot. So chill and relaxed. I could def get work done here vs other crazy loud coffee shops. The coffee was delicious — had a simple caramel latte. And also a zucchini carrot muffin — YUM! I def recommend this place if you’re in the area and want good coffee with good service.

You’ll always enjoy a delicious hot tea or cup of Joe at this warm and toasty coffee house. Patrons are curious. It’s a nice break from Starbucks

Nothing very special, but very cozy and nice local socializing places such as fire place, sofa, and free wifi. It reminds of me a good old America. Owner was very friendly and nice, too :-) Coffee? Ummm… I had a latte which was light for me.

A lovely and classy place to sit and do work, have a meeting, or cozy up to a book. The owner and her son are very sweet and thoughtful, and the quality of the food and drink is impeccable. Reasonable prices(considering it’s on the north shore). DONTMISS.

Really wanted to like this place more but their lattes are weaker than my biceps! I have been here several times, ordering some variant of my usual«vanilla almond milk latte,» and each visit has been a let-down. Maybe I’ve been spoiled by amazing coffee shops in the city like Wormhole and Ipsento but being in the suburbs should be no excuse for a sub-par brew. One time I walked in and a high-school age looking dude made my latte so sweet I could hear my dentist chortling. Each time since, the latte has been weak, tasting like it was watered down. Guess I’ll be going to Glenview Grind instead, or perhaps the non-local but always consistent Starbucks…

Best coffee on the NorthShore by far! Great local neighborhood feeling with way better coffee than ANY chain. I’ve had all that the Glencoe Roast offers. Everything is of the best quality deeming it the best. Overall the quality of everything they offer, the very fair prices, the amazing atmosphere and the friendly and helpful staff creates the best coffee shop on the entire NorthShore.

What would you miss the most when leaving the«city» of Chicago? Two(2) Polish sausage places near UIC? M*rio’s Italian Lemonade? Or some random sceneries that no one else cares except you? How about the Chicago-brewed«Intelligentsia» coffee? Fortunately, Glencoe Roast Coffee(a short walk away from the Glencoe Metra Station) serves Intelligentsia. Well, that was a great sign since Rosa J. and Daddy J. were on the hunt for our Sunday morning coffee. Glencoe Roast Coffee appeared to be a kid-friendly venue. I saw all three(3) generations happily hang out together. While I felt the indoor seating was semi-limited and the lighting wasn’t sufficient enough to my liking, the outdoor patio was quite awesome. Daddy J. and I had our regular orders: Americano and latte. Well, my latte had a little twist to it: it was«banana bread» latte. I wouldn’t say that I didn’t like how it turned out; I just preferred the normal latte without extra flavoring. I spotted this special drink on the black chalk board as we walked in. As Rosa J. has slowly conquered many coffee shops in the city, she began to spread her wings onto the suburbs. If you are on the way to the Chicago Botanic Garden in Glencoe, please walk past the Sta*buc*s on Park Ave. and look for the GRC instead.

I’ve been here several times after workouts. I like the atmosphere(they generally have classical music playing) and the staff are very friendly. The blueberry muffins are the best! But beware, sometimes they run out if you get there too late in the day(they have other choices, though). It’s handy that they have free Wi-Fi if you need to check your email or catch up with your friends on Facebook. I like the flavor of their coffee better than the big chain coffee store down the street. I don’t really think the price is that different; to me, it’s worth it for the quality difference.

Wonderful ambiance. Much quieter than Starbucks. Come here to relax and think or have a nuanced conversation.

I have been stopping in here about every other weekend for the past year or so, and the place is just a great match for me. It offers great coffee, an extremely pleasant staff, and I really appreciate the sofas, game boards, and not-too-bright lighting. It has 100% replaced Starbucks in that area, and I wish I knew more about Glencoe Roast years ago.

Glencoe Coffee roaster delivers a great experience! Location and Ambiance: Its located in downtown Glencoe and has a fantastic home town feel. The shop sets an awesome ambiance, very old school and unincorporated feeling. Coffee: The coffee was average. Nothing wrong with it, but not the best cup of coffee I have had. Food: Great selection of food! Glencoe Roast Coffee did a great job with pastries and food! Staff: The staff was nice, and offered to remake my sisters drink when she didn’t like it. Overall, if your in the area Glencoe Roast Coffee won’t disappoint. Its not the best place I have been but I have no complaints! Thanks, Connor Brady

Totally loved the café au lait I had this morning on my way to my weekend job. Perfect amount of milk, coffee and foam. I highly recommend trying one. It was the perfect way to start my day. Tomorrow I just have to try a banana bread latte, it sounds totally amazing!!! Anyways, this is a great café and I highly recommend checking it out if you are in the area. You could go to the Starbucks down the street but what fun is that? This café has lots of character, beautiful design, is comfortable and welcoming to its patrons. Cheers!

I do all my power breakfast meetings in Glencoe here instead of Starbucks across the road. Why? It’s nice and quiet — great for a meeting or a conversation. Starbucks is quite the social scene, so if you want to whip out your iPhone and chat in your Lulu Lemon outfit that is the place for you. If you’ve got business or thinking to be done, this is your place. The staff is awesome — super friendly, super efficient, and just nice. Happy to support that! Comfortable tables and the back conversation area is awesome. In the summer the outdoor tables are great as well. Coffee is meh. I’m still not an Intelligentsia fan, but I keep coming back anyway for all the other reasons I’ve listed.

Alright, alright… They do make a pretty legit vanilla latte — just the right amount of sweet with plenty of good coffee flavors, and decent art. $ 4 for a small is a bit steep though… Pretty good iced latte too. And hot chocolate if I remember correctly. This has become my favorite place to stop along Greenbay Trail. I tried to go elsewhere, like Foodstuffs or Einstein’s but it just wasn’t the same. Unfortunately it’s so comfortable inside sometimes I stay for way too long and don’t leave :( Might have overheard them offering pourover so I’ll have to try that next time. But even if pourover isn’t great, I can always stick with a latte.

I love coffee. What more can I say? I’m not typically a huge fan of Intelligentsia because I often find it bitter, but this place does a decent vanilla latte. I’ve been here more than once and am a huge creature of habit when it comes to my lattes. Creamy smooth finish, nice latte art on the top, not too hot that I’d burn my mouth off, and consistent each and every time. It’s not at the very top of my delicious latte list, but it’s sure up there! This delightful spot is really calming upon entry and the staff is super friendly and accommodating. Though it seems like there isn’t a ton of seating, I always seem to find a spot. Tables are small. I grabbed a blueberry muffin on they way out, and it was just OK. Fresh and squishy, it ended up in crumbs all over my seat in the car as I woofed it down. I was hungry… but again… it was just a nosh to fill me up. Darn, I wish I’d opted for another baked good instead. Perhaps something a little heartier. Oh well. No biggie. There’s always next time!
