There is a sweet little lady in cosmetics who will help you with anything at all, even if it isn’t in cosmetics. She is the only reason I am giving this location any stars. Most of the employees act like you are inconveniencing them. I asked an employee(who was stocking) if they had any wood glue, since my son needed to bring«wood glue» to his science class. I was in the home/household repair section at the time. Here’s the conversation: ME: Do you carry wood glue? Employee: Elmers school glue? ME: No, wood glue, or all purpose glue that specifies wood. Employee: NO. Crazy glue. Me: No, Wood glue. Employee: I said NO. I went by school supplies on my own, and guess what? Wood Glue! Now to get thumbtacks for same project. There was place for them on the shelf, with a price/id tag. Same employee mosies over. Employee: You still need help? Me: yes, you are out of thumbtacks. Can you check if there are any in the back? Employee: OK. you found wood glue. No thumbtacks, sorry. Me: Can you check in back?(silently screaming) Employee walks to next isle, then comes back and says, none in back. Are you kidding? I can see he was standing in the next isle from those anti shoplifting mirrors across the store. Whatever. I wish I could say this was an isolated experience, but no. No experience with the pharmacy here.

This Walgreens has the nicest, most caring pharmacy staff I’ve ever encountered. Whenever I’ve had problems with my insurance(which unfortunately happens quite a bit), they have been unrelentless in fighting my insurance company to get them to cover my medication — something that a lot of other pharmacies, including other Walgreens locations, won’t do. Most places just make you pay full price and submit it to your insurance on your own but these pharmacists actually care and go above and beyond to help their customers.

I don’t have a problem with the store or the people who work there, but I know that they were one of the main anchors who asked that any car be booted if you leave the premises(aka walk 15 feet to radio shack). My mom made a large purchase at Walgreen’s and then went to radio shack to pick up a new phone. She came back and found a boot on her car. They were extremely rude and demanded that she either pay the $ 200 ticket or get towed. She paid the ticket and then had her credit card decline the transaction later that night. You have to be kidding me that you’re going to tow or boot people in Glencoe! The owners of the strip mall have let the exterior deteriorate, but they have to audacity to boot people. There never has been and never will be a parking shortage here. I will be driving to Highland Park or Northfield until the place either gets new owners or they get rid of their ridiculous policies.
