Since Im stuck in glendale for another year, I figured its time to find some fun/sexy spots near my apartment since Im too lazy to venture far these days. the Lounge @ Bourbon is it. Ive been coming here since they opened a few years ago but most recently, I have been coming more often to visit the lounge & have appetizers/drinks with my friends in an ADULT and LUXURIOUS Environment.(I have expensive taste. what can I say?) Food selection is wonderful at the lounge. We love love LOVE the Oysters, scallops, Fries(no duck fat) hummus, Mushrooms, etc. We indulge in anything that is not meat. The food is 5 star and the plating is always gorgeous. Carly is a FABULOUS server and VERY attentive. Her positive energy is so refreshing. Its like Ive known her forever. RAY at the Bar is so personable and very informative about the AMAZING Wine selection. MUSTTRY their MANHATTANS(only if you’re über’ing cause youre gonna drink more than 2!) MUSTTRY Their red wine selection ~ Fabulous bold reds. Love the chill and sexy laid back décor ~ comfortable but high end. Lounge doesnt normally take reservations but there are usually a few open seats as soon as I get in. No need to wait or loiter in the entry. xo Melineh

Stopped in for happy hour for $ 2 oysters but ended up trying a few things on the happy hour menu. So after oysters, we ordered empanadas which were ok, but I thought they couldve used more filling. Still great flavor. Next up, duck spring rolls which were delicious! A crispy crunchy roll wrapped in lettuce served w a sweet and tangy dipping sauce. I drowned the rolls w this sauce and it was amazing. Then, we tried lamb ragout on toast which was my favorite dish of the meal. Shredded lamb on a slice of toasted artisan bread with feta cheese, bomb. I’d like to return and try the full dinner menu. This is a great venue, classy enough without being too fancy. Great staff, fast service and great music; makes for a win in my book.

I made reservations and I’m so glad I did this placed filled up on a Friday night. It is located at the Americana which I loved we walked around a bit before heading over. It’s really nice and quaint inside and I like that it feels roomy as opposed to Mastro’s in Thousand Oaks where I felt on top of the people near me. We sat at the bar area until the dinning area was ready for guests and they have a good happy hour menu for small bites and mixed drinks that average around $ 8. For my dinner I ordered a glass of a Malbec wine which went perfect with the Braised Lamb Shank that topped creamy Polenta and mixed greens. This dish is amazing, the meat falls right off the bone– it is braised for 48 hours. For Appetizers we got the short rib that is layered inside a pasta– the creaminess and delicate pasta with really tender short rib is perfect. The Tuna Tartare– the waitress recommended it but I“m not a fan when that dish is served with toasted bread that kills it for me. I need it with a crispy wonton or chip. I didn’t care for the pine nuts in it either — I would skip this next time. The table fries cooked in duck fat, I can go at those all night– with different sauces… oh goodness. The table bread also in the most amazing spread. My man loved the Bourbon Tasting and I was impressed by the presentation of it– the 3 glasses are rubbed down each with different hints of orange, vanilla and cinnamon, after we got a smell of each glass they filled it with the bourbons. He loved his Petite Filet he ordered along with a side of Brussel sprouts which had an amazing honey flavor and fried to a crispiness that took this over and beyond. It also tasted as if it had breadcrumbs mixed with garlic– order them they are so good. For his Birthday dessert they brought out a Chocolate mouse with this light cream, I can’t even put into words how wonderful that was. The staff also all signed a birthday card for him which I thought was so cute. I also enjoyed the Piano guy playing, it sets a romantic mood in this place. :))

UPDATED to comply after receiving«One or more complaints»(all of which remain a mystery to me) arrived around 6:40 pm; I enter the restaurant alone, as my date goes to collect our movie tickets. My vodka arrives with no Ginger ale as requested. as a regular vodka drinker I find this strange but go to the bathroom. the restaurant was virtually empty. just before 7pm; my date arrives, movie tickets in hand. we had both arrived at the restaurant completely sober. as we finished our meal and went to leave the restaurant for our 735 disney movie, she was stunned to find I could not speak or walk. The bill showed that we had been charged for two double vodka’s. I am very familiar, as is she, with the effect vodka has on me. unless they are carrying 150 proof vodka, something went very wrong. i did NOT see zootopia as promised with our dinner voucher due to my inability to move my body. I’ve frequented this restaurant many times with my parents locally, in Glendale and also abroad. I can genuinely say I’m afraid to return. it remains a mystery to me which part of my prior draft may have warranted a threat of legal action and virtual bullying.

Without a doubt the single greatest dining experience I’ve ever had. It’s hard to express what I loved most about my time here. The staff never missed a beat. The ambience was balanced and romantic. The sommelier was engaging and insightful. And our waiter Giuseppe made incredible recommendations. We started out in the lounge for oysters and cocktails and then transitioned into the dining room once our reservation time came. Once there we enjoyed the table side bourbon trio which was an amazing variation on enjoying bourbons utilizing vanilla, cinnamon, and orange peels. For dinner we ordered the tomahawk; a 65 day dry aged Australian ragyu. We asked for it medium rare and it was cooked perfectly. They brought out our steak once it was cooked to present to the table and then took it back to the chef to be carved. We also ordered an accompaniment of foie gras on top of the tomahawk which was by far the richest liver I’ve ever eaten. A tiny sliver added to each bite of tomahawk created an incredible flavor profile.

A place like this should do certain things well. Priority one: good steaks. They accomplish this at the top dollar mark. But then they forget where they are. They’d rather be cute than good when it comes to baked potatoes. At this point, you’d think they’d take care of the basics. But they ha e some IHOP version of small potatoes. Bourbon calls this twice baked. I call it half baked. I can do Taylors at half the price, twice the quality. Without the pretentiousness of a contrived menu whose ideas come from a reality show.

You know when you walk into a place and you get taken to a different time period? That’s how I felt here. The whole ambiance made me feel like I was in the 1920’s and Humphrey bogart would be hanging out in the corner. Ok let’s start the review: Pros– –clean –nice décor and ambiance –they left a birthday card for me on the table –food was good(more on that later) –friendly service Cons– –steak was a bit dry and I asked for medium rare. –we had reservations, showed up 10 min early and still had to wait nearly 40 minutes. Overall nice place for a date night, although it does get a bit loud.

A long awaited date night with hubby, we chose Bourbon Steak to enjoy a night away from kid. We know very limit about whiskey/bourbon, so we asked our server for suggestion; she was very knowledgeable about the drinks and suggested Old Fashion to my husband to make the alcohol easier to get down for beginner. Complimentary fries, dinner roll and truffle butter were all delicious. We ordered a porterhouse to share, the filet mignon side was very tender but NY strip was a bit leak of favor. Overall, our server did an excellent job, live music and dimmed light was great for a date. We are planning to return to try different type of steak.

Bourbon Steak used to be my favorite steakhouse in LA. I thought it was even better than Mastro’s for a time. I went last night after making a reservation on opentable after not having been here since December and the quality of the food and preparation have both declined exponentially. I dare say that some of the food was just BAD. When I arrived I was greeted by a woman with dark hair who made me feel uncomfortable because she had a piercing stare and didn’t smile at all when she led me to my table. She assumed the other asian man waiting at the hostess stand for his pick up order was with me. Awkward. I ordered the duck egg rolls which were delicious but simple in their preparation. I also ordered the Maine lobster pot pie which is usually my go-to and in the past has been delicious with a flaky crust, tableside deconstruction and a succulent 2 lb lobster. This time was different however. For some reason there was a very strong taste of ammonia in the lobster. I am unsure if seafood has this characteristic when prepared incorrectly but the taste was overpowering and you almost couldn’t taste anything else. The texture of the lobster was nice though but we did not finish the pot pie because of this odd and uncomfortable taste. We ordered the Australian wagyu tomahawk for two — medium rare. This was cooked on the rare side but the quality of meat was good. I ordered the brussel sprouts which were cooked well and seasoned well if only a little bit on the tough/chewy side. I also ordered the magic mushrooms which were so greasy they leaked all over the take home box and bag. The seasoning and texture were ok. The black truffle mac n cheese which is supposed to be one of Michael’s specialties was extremely watery — it was almost a mac n cheese soup! It was drastically underseasoned and required a lot of salt and pepper. There was almost no truffle flavor. It tasted like a home cooking project gone wrong. I was extremely disappointed in my experience and I don’t think I’ll ever come back. I will just stick with Mastro’s bone in rib eye, truffle mac n cheese and butter cake. nomz. So sad. I loved the ambiance here but it’s not enough to bring me back for another meal for $ 300+

Came on a Saturday night without a reservation but there was available seating in the Salon so we took that. Was expecting more from the main dishes, but I left happy from the dessert. Overall okay food but the atmosphere is really nice. FOOD: Complimentary Duck Fat Fries(4 stars): Crispy on the intrude and soft in the middle :) comes with 3 dipping sauces Lamb Shank(3.5 stars): Pretty moist, fell off the bone. Flavor was pretty good. Roasted Organic Chicken(3 stars): Not very flavorful. I wasn’t a fan of the sauces that came with it and the wild grains were pretty bland also. The small pieces of broccoli had a lot of flavor though, that was the best part of the dish. DESSERT: The Bourbon White Chocolate Sundae(4 stars): If I come back it’ll be for this! So many great textures in this! Would have been 5 stars if the ice cream was better. Carrot Cake(3.5 stars): Good carrot cake but nothing too special, the chocolate sundae was a lot better and more interesting. SERVICE(4 stars) ATMOSPHERE(5 stars) There are 3 rooms, the salon(where we sat), the lounge, and the main dining area. All are great. The salon is gorgeous, quiet, and more intimate. The lounge is definitely more casual and loud, and the main dining room is a mix of both. Bathrooms were nice, multiple individual bathrooms. PARKING: They have complimentary valet right outside of Nordstroms, but it was really busy on Saturday! Short walk from the Americana parking garage as well. The only thing that bothered me was when I went home to eat my leftovers I opened the box to find only 1 piece of chicken when I had a lot more left in my plate than that. I don’t know what happened there, kind of weird that they only packed half of my chicken to go, and definitely a surprise to me when I opened the box!

Walked in for a celebratory dessert for my cousins birthday. We didn’t have a reservation but they didn’t give us a problem about it. The restaurant is beautiful and the ambience is classy and relaxed. They had a live piano player(scored major points), dim lights, great décor and fantastic service. Gabby was very sweet and friendly. We only ordered dessert but it was so delicious! I would definitely come back and dine here!

Had a great time here celebrating a birthday party. The service was excellent.. The food delicious. Everyone loved their meals I personally had the American wagyu flat steak.. It might just be the best steak I’ve ever had. I eat at Larsons and Ruth Chris so comparing it to others great steaks. Will most certainly dine here again. One thing that could be better… the drink was great… but perhaps smallest serving I’ve had. Martini served in really small glass then about 1\2 inch from the top. Had 3 and they equalled 1 from Larsons. Great good and service but felt robbed on the cocktails !!

Dinner: I went with 2 other people and got 2 different cuts of meats; ribeye cap(myself) and the other two shared the dry aged porterhouse. Let me start by telling you immediately I could tell they get their beef from the finest of meat suppliers. The steak was melt in your mouth quality. They presented the porterhouse then took it away and brought it back cut from the bone and divided for easy consumption. The only problem was that it was difficult to taste the delicacy of the amazing meat quality behind the immense levels of salt. Now don’t get me wrong I love a steak that needs no sauce but this wasn’t over the edge… it was getting kicked off the top of grand canyon by the roadrunner levels of salt. I was actually sad that this high quality beef that I could never hope to buy at any market was molested by enormous amounts of sodium. So our trio decided to try again but this time a much thriftier way, a way I encourage if you’re looking to try this restaurant for the first time. We went back during happy hour when all the burgers are the same low price. The 3 of us all ordered different burgers and I asked them to quarter them so we could try each one, which the kitchen had no problem doing(grade A service). The 3 burgers I tried had amazing qualities of ground beef. I have never in my life tried a softer burger patty. And despite the tries at delicate flavors from the 3 different burgers which you could almost taste was overpowered by again superfluous levels of salt. TL;DR Best quality beef and ingredients hands down molested with salt on top of salt with a dash of salt. Skip the bourbon(they literally have every single kind) and ask for lots of water. some of it before you eat some of it during, some of it to dip your steak in, and some for after your meal.

My first time here and I am sooo impressed and satisfied. I had a Blackboard Eats code, and it was DineLA. Both being pre-fixed menus, they were able to accomodate for my boyfriend and I by allowing us to use both menus(I really didn’t think they would, so I was soooo happy when they did) BBE 1st course: chef’s surprise which ended up being an oyster and a glass of prosecco 2nd course: famous tuna tartare 3rd course: Wedge salad 4th: Filet mignon(AMAZING) 5th: Deconstructed Cheesecake DineLA 1st course: Burrata & Beets Salad(LOVELOVELOVE) 2nd: Roasted Chicken accompanied with 2 sides being BLACKTRUFFLEMAC& broccoli. 3rd: root beer float Our service was impeccable, her drink recommendations were so on point. Although I was lucky enough to enjoy these 2 great deals, I would definitely come back to check out the regular menu because the food was outstanding.

Let me preface this by saying I rarely write reviews… and I also am pretty easy to please in the service department. So you know this was bad. Just ate here for the 2nd time. The first time we were here was right after they opened and it was good and I remember the service also being good. This time service was AWFUL. We arrives around 7:15 or so and were seated somewhat quickly. We were in a bit of a rush to make an 8:20 movie so we ordered everything quickly and made it a point to tell the waitress we were in a rush to make a movie. The salad was brought out quickly along with the trio of fries that’s «on the house» courtesy of the chef. So we sat there for a while and ate our salad and eventually devoured the fries we hadn’t expected to have and then finally we realized it was almost 8 and the people sitting next to us(who arrived after us) had already received their entrees and finished their meals before our entrees even came! We told the waitress we are under a time crunch and need to leave and she assured us our food was almost out. Finally ended up getting our entrees at about 8:10 and we had to eat our $ 200 meal in rapid speed. When we asked for our check we mentioned again to the waitress that we were really disappointed in the service and she just said«oh I’m sorry I’ll bring your check out quickly». They should have taken something off the bill. When you pay that kind of money for a nice meal you expect better service than that. It made no sense why the people seated next to us arrived a few mins after us and received their food so much before us that they were able to finish their entire meal before we even received our entrees! That’s ridiculous. Definitely not excited to come back here now after this experience. Only 2 stars because the food was still good but hard to enjoy it when you’re eating so fast you can barely taste it.

#dineLA winter 2016 This is a story of two diners. Two diners who set out to dineLA like champions. With three-course prix fixes for dinner at either $ 39 or $ 49, it wasn’t hard to do, but making sure we were getting the best value for our money took a bit of extra finesse. Bourbon Steak was our first stop and set the bar really high. The $ 49 menu includes one starter, an entrée, and a dessert. If you know a Michael Mina menu, then you know this one didn’t disappoint. Since there were two of us navigating through the meal, we had a chopped salad and mushroom soup. The portions were not skimpy and the flavors in each dish met our expectations. For our main we shared the Bavett steak and Mary’s roasted chicken. I loved the chicken… something about a chicken done well that warms your insides instantly. Neither of us were huge fans of the steak, but again, a hearty dish, nonetheless. And to finish, both the cheesecake(deconstructed) and their famous root beer float. Both were solid desserts. Service was outstanding, per usual. The reason Bourbon Steak stands out? The extras: –complimentary trio of duck fat fries and dipping sauces(customary for them no matter the occasion) –complimentary bread for each guest(customary for them no matter the occasion) –two complimentary sides for the table(for dineLA). Full size portions of truffle Mac ‘n cheese and mashed potatoes –two complimentary caramels served with the bill(customary for them no matter the occasion) We also did the $ 20 wine tasting addition, which offered three full pours to complement each course(a white, a red, and a Port). Complimentary valet for 3 hours with validation.

Hmmm… I actually feel bad for the one star I’m giving this restaurant. Went in for lunch on Saturday, service was excellent. Very attentive, super clean but unfortunately the food wasn’t great. We ordered two turkey burgers after the first bite I was just grossed out. I wasn’t sure if I was over cooked or under cooked. Smelled awful like raw chicken. Dry piece of gross meat. Ewww I don’t usually hesitate to send my food back but they were too nice and I didn’t wanna be an ass hole about it. It was obvious that we didn’t like it since I just ate the pickle and fries. Oh and Fuji water was $ 10 which is ridiculous.

Way too pricey for being a restaurant in a mall. Came here on Sunday evening for supper with a group of friends to celebrate a birthday. Service was great. Really engaged server. Loved the way glasses of wine were served — right from an open bottle in front of you even when you order just a glass. Food — as a group we ordered oysters and the lobster pot pie to start with. Oysters were fantastic however would have appreciated some horseradish to put on my oysters. The lobster pot pie is a production. It comes as a regular pot pie in a pot, and then another server deconstructs it. He cuts open the top crust and places it on another plate. Then he covers with all the insides of the pot pie, deconstructing the lobster with each piece. Cool presentation but flavor profile wasn’t there for me. The crust was good but there wasn’t a lot of it. I would have rather spent the $ 79 elsewhere — ridiculous cost for a pot pie. Next up I shared the tomahawk rib eye — $ 69/pp. so expensive and not a lot. I’m a girl and shared with a guy who wasn’t that hungry and he felt the portion size was small. The steak was cooked well, but the flavor was kind of sweet and smokey. Must be the bourbon marinade. Def not worth the $ 69/pp. The table got two sides to share — broccoli and Brussels sprouts. Broccoli didn’t have much flavor except for a spicy kick at the end. The Brussel sprouts had a simile sweet flavor as the steak. Dessert was uneventful, although the bourbon caramel chews they give you at the end were tasty. They even gave us extra to take home. It ended up being $ 190/pp of a meal with a few glasses of wine. Definitely would not come back for what you get for the price.

Amazing selection of steak, including wagyu and aged cuts — cooked to perfection! Creative and interesting starters and sides. Some of the best marrow … yum. Their dessert cart is awesome. And everyone gets a free salted caramel(or soft toffee?) at the end. Great service — knowledgeable and professional servers. Swanky interior. Cool mixed drink menu — including the classics and offbeat, rotating options. Often live music. Go here for a special date night or birthday. The Americana in general feels very formulaic and commercial, and you park in an enormous structure. Yet I enjoy the walk from the parking and the restaurant validates.

It’s awesome to have a fine dining option in Glendale and with such a reputable chef like Michael Mina. It’s a delicious steakhouse with some interesting and unique items on the menu. The décor and ambiance is sleek but not stark. They send out a complimentary trio of duck fat fries, which are fun and who doesn’t like fries? My favorite are the Parmesan fries. The parker roll that comes out is fluffy and delicious; it’s like air. Things we have tried: Sizzling pancake(app) — deconstructed pancake with pork belly and uni. Delicate and oh so delicious. Delicate, rich, interesting. One of my favorites, but is seriously 2 – 3 bites, so don’t get your hopes up that it’s some huge dish. Duck spring rolls(app) — it’s a fried egg roll filled with duck and with a fish sauce on the side. Who wouldn’t like that? Butternut squash agnolotti w/bone marrow(app) — the bone marrow is presented table side and mixed into the pasta. It’s rich and delicious and since it is an app, it’s not too heavy. Tuna tartare(app) — this is also presented and made tableside. It’s fun, and it’s a solid tuna taratar but not really new. Oysters(app) — fresh and standard. Scallops(app) — one note. This is the only dish I wouldn’t recommend. Duck bolognese(entrée) — this was the only dish that was aiiiight. NY steak & Ribeye(entrée) — perfectly cooked medium rare. We preferred the ribeye. Magical mushrooms(side) — we get this every time. Several types of different mushrooms and perfectly cooked and tasty. Mac n cheese(side) — crazy rich; we couldn’t finish it. We only had a couple bites and stopped. Creamed spinach(side) — also rich. Didn’t eat too much of it, but it tasted pretty good the next day. You can get validated for parking, and the caramel you get at the end of your meal is bombdiggity.

Meh… Went in the other night because I was in the area, had a helluva day and wanted a couple of drinks and some steak. Sat at the bar — lovely bartender, but MAN there was a weird vibe in the room — like NONE of the employees smiled. Ever. They all looked miserable. The vodka martinis are expensive and small. The iceberg wedge salad was fantastic. Truffle mac & cheese was really good too. I got a mini filet — and it was REALLY mini. I could’ve eaten three of them. Ordered a glass of house Cab to drink with the steak and when I looked at the bill at the end of the night it was $ 18! Wound up spending over $ 150(with tip) for a mediocre meal by myself in a restaurant that had bad vibes. Bummer man.

A beautiful Michael Mina restaurant in the heart of Glendale is here to stay. First impression was«WOW, how sexy is this?» The warm lighting and soft ambiance brings a sultry feel walking in. It’s a perfect setting for date night, happy hour or Sunday brunch with friends and even a nice family dinner with the kids(large booths and kids menu available) Brunch– Impressive Table side Bloody Mary Cart that was so good I had two. A must is the trio duck fat fries and amazing raw oysters that is extremely fresh and served with excellent sauces. Happy Hour– The Rickey cocktail consisting of mint/basil infused gin, lime and absinthe if like me you enjoy a sour kick. To nibble on are the savory glazed brussel sprouts and delicious truffle mac and cheese. I’d even order this just for dinner as a main course it’s amazing with a ton of flavor. My friends ordered the Lucky Lindy cocktail which they loved and the blue burger with truffle aioli and mushrooms and crunchy baked potato skins with bacon, shallots and cheese. A perfect night with fantastic friends eating fantastic food. *4 out of 5 stars due to lack of our servers attention asking for refills and eye contact during happy hour that wasn’t really busy.

Date of Dining: January 2, 2016 Was at The Americana and needed mid-day nourishment. A little to early for dinner a little too late for lunch. We had Linner… or Dunch, whatever floats your boat. It was happy hour time. They don’t serve their dinner menu until 5pm. :AMBIANCE: BEAUTIFUL!!! Nothing short of amazing. Dim lighting and elegant furniture. The place is really elegant. There is outdoor café style seating. Its winter though, no one wants to be cold. But a perfect place during the warmer months. When you enter there is a hostess to your right and a Coffee and Desserts area to your left. The hostess seemed a bit distracted. Like she was thinking if she left her flat iron on at home or something. Nonetheless, she sat us… which is ultimately the main goal. The bar lounge area is really nice, as well as the formal dining areas. The dim bathrooms make you feel sexy. Lol. Yes i felt sexy washing my hands. :SERVICE: Really good. Our server was really nice, engaging and funny. When I asked her if the water was gluten free she didn’t miss a beat. BTW i ask that of all my servers just to see if they have a sense of humor. :FOOD: OK, let me not be harsh… but honest. Take in mind, we were here for Happy Hour, so maybe they were saving all their gusto for dinner. Strike one, no Duck Spring Rolls. Let that sink in. Duck Fat Fries Trio — they bring you a platter of different fries. Pastrami, Parmesan and Pickle. Hmmmm I dont remember the last fry tasting like Pickles. But OK. All three were nice, Parmesan the best. A little too crispy… but they did the job. Lamb Ragout Toast — Goodish. The toast was soft and the meat was nice, but every other bite I was removing cartilage from my mouth. It was odd. I couldnt get a good bite because of it. More Feta too. Ahi Tuna Poppers — Yeah, totally pointless. Its the big tease of Ahi. Not enough to really satisfy your tuna tasetbuds. Spicy Korean Wings — Pretty good. Crunchy, moist, and sweetly flavored. The food was just… eh. It wasnt awful, but it wasnt fantastic either. I would come back to try dinner… if I were in the area.

I was in the Glendale area to catch a concert at he Alex Theater and decided to have dinner Bourbon before the show. The restaurant has many attractive features such as its upscale atmosphere and excellent customer service. The appetizers and drinks were however just okay in my opinion as you’d expect slightly better for a restaurant of this caliber. I ordered a ceasar salad with halibut and mushrooms as my entrée. The salad wasn’t exceptional by any means as the quality of presentation and taste were just average. Things got much better with the main course as the halibut was quite good, but the mushrooms were a bit overbuttered. I had a couple of cocktails(fig and olive & Lindy hop) and I found them to be rather unspectacular. I’ve certainly have had better cocktails elsewhere in terms of preparation. So overall, not too bad. I’d stick with the meat and fish at this place and focus on enjoying the main course. The appetizers, drinks, and salad were a bit of a letdown.

This is my first Unilocal review. I felt compelled to finally write one because I had the worst experience at this establishment. To be honest, if you want to eat a steak this is not the place to go. I would highly suggest Houston’s, Barton G, or BOA. The food was deceiving because the presentation was beautiful, however the food was bland & dry. I could’ve made food better at home… And just to top off the horrible experience it was thanksgiving. With all that said our server was impeccable. However the general manager, Waldo was intoxicated when he came to talk at our table and the assistant manager had zero knowledge of customer service. I will never suggest anyone to go to this restaurant. The 1 star isn’t a personal jab it is a factual rating. Since I can’t reply to your comment might I add, we did not get our food comped– you charged us for one of the lousy dinners. You and your establishment is a joke.

A great place to start your weekend, absolutely the most amazing-personal service from the staff. Especially Peter, an amazing person with a great personality and he is truly very service minded. He was absolutely wonderful when we came(just the two of us) for our anniversary way back in July and made a special evening in to a unforgettable one, his passion for food and the people he meets is really a unique and rare experience you can not go without, even now 5 month latter when we came back he made us feel like it was only last week we last meet. On top of the great service there food is some of the best in Los Angeles together with there cocktails and vin you simply can not go wrong at Bourbon Steak in Burbank.

My sister chose Bourbon Steak for dad’s 80th birthday celebration. We had a «private party» type of affair up in the front room by the bar. We had our own menu and I made special terrarium centerpieces for our guests to take home. Our group came from Ventura to meet us for dinner on Saturday 8÷8÷15. We are not usually a fine dining group so it was fun to dress up, be together, toast dad and reminisce over some really great food. We had THE fries, we had passed apps! Fancy! We had big salads, shrimp… I still have the menu! We had wine, cocktails AND champagne! Most people got the steaks, but I got the salmon which was a good choice! So good, perfectly cooked and nicely seasoned. My DH got steak and it came way to rare for his taste. He ate it and remarked to me that that always happens when we’re in a big group and everyone orders steak, «they get them all mixed up.» Well, he didn’t mind too much, he had a lot of shrimp and said he should have gone with his instinct and been the only one at the table to order chicken! Well, we’ll have to go back! The sides came«Family style» to the table. Creamed spinach, mashed potatoes and mac and cheese are NOT my normal dinner fare, but I had a little dollop of each! They were good, but just very rich for my taste(and stomach). Everyone at the table LOVED all the sides! The service was so nice. Very gracious and attentive. They helped us set up our little goodie bag table, let me do my custom centerpieces and were just all around NICE! It was very much appreciated. My sister was so impressed that she hosted her partners wedding dinner here a few weeks later. It will be special to us forever! Thank you Bourbon!

Review for [H A P P Y H O U R] only! Whilst at Bloomingdale’s, I overheard a couple talking about the Happy Hour at Bourbon Steak being really f*cking good. I thought to myself, «Huh, must be if you’re dropping the F bomb in the middle of the store with a family next to you.lol.» Kids pick up on the bad stuff real quick. Just saying lol. Anyway, convinced a couple friends to meet me here for the«F*cking Good» Happy Hour. I was quickly seated and greeted. I ordered the lamb shank, duck fat fries, and the zombie cocktail. The fries were okay, nothing big, the dipping sauce made the difference. The lamb shank was bland I expected more for what it was worth. The cocktail was actually the best part, lol. I like the ambient very formal and relaxed theme with jazz compliment.

I had really been looking forward to this fine establishment(the title alone had me). My sister had recommended this place to me since I am a huge steak lover and an alcoholic for old fashions and manhattans. Unfortunately, my date and I had to wait about 30 minutes for a table but the whole seating area in the back was actually empty. They were sitting people only in the two front areas and not allowing anyone to sit on the patio. I get it, we’re not supermodels and we be cramping your style but please let us sit somewhere in the back first without waiting 30 min. Then it happened, we were seated way in the back where servers could easily miss us. We had a s server who said she was going to get a pen and than she will be right back but instead a totally different server decided to take our menu and asked us for our drinks again. Guess our previous server thought we had cooties… Weird thing is that they took the wine glasses from the table but the bus boy had just put them on a few minutes ago. Funny. I was going to order a whole bottle for celebrating since I just got a job promotion. This night outing was seriously ruining my festivities. On top of that our food took very long to come out and the New York steak was not even all that I had hoped for. It was mediocre at best. The flavor was just not there. I feel sorry for the cow that was murdered just to be served as Denny’s steak special. The signature dessert: white chocolate sundae– type 2 diabetes in a glass. The sales pitch of the cocktails was very strange and tacky(you took away our wine glasses) That is where I would hit 2 stars because of the food delay due to bad communication amongst staff for the multiple delays. Maybe it was an off day where not the best staff was there, it was a Wednesday. The silver lining to this place was the duck fat fries. But you can’t mess that up.
