The atmosphere was great, so was the food. I live in Chula Vista, Ca. I would drive to Clansy once or twice a month. It’s so sad that it’s closed. I hope you’ll open again soon or move the San Diego.

We are so upset to find out this place is closed. We’ve been coming here as a family for birthdays and special occasions for many many years, it was my Grandads go to place! We loved the food and incredible atmosphere. Truly upsetting to hear they aren’t open anymore, we were just about to make reservations for my moms birthday!

So sorry to see them go. Clancy’s was our whole families favorite restaurant! We celebrated many wonderful occasions there. You are and will be missed so much. Let us know if you open somewhere else!

I understand that Clancy’s is closed the last time we were there we had to get our food comped because my husband found a piece of cardboard in his clam chowder. We alerted the manager who didn’t seem to care that this was happening and begrudgingly gave us a refund. The lack of care for their customers made us decide not to go back. If they re-open, I hope that they better train their staff on how to make sure cardboard doesn’t end up in ANY of their food and to treat their customers a lot better.

Clancy’s is closed presently. Their WWW site is gone, and the story is they are in a dispute with the landlord on redoing the bathrooms. They have been closed about a month now. I suspect that they are gone for good, but I hope not. Good food, great servers, fair prices and now we just have Damon’s for a local good, real, non-chain place. I am sad :-( Hope you come back to life Clancy’s !! We will be back if you do !!

I came here with a friend of mine that has ate here a few times. This was a first for me as I don’t live In the area .I loved the classic, old feeling of the restaurant. I ordered a cup of clam chowder that was beyond amazing and shared some calamari .They were both exceptionally good! As a surprise to me, they were having karaōke and the guy In charge was a good singer and made for an entertaining evening out ! Also, our server was very attentive and made sure we were always taken care of !

I’ve been coming to Clancy’s before the renovation and this was the first time coming after. May I add that the service is truly spectacular. Our waitress, Sarah, deserves a raise! She helped us choose what we wanted and even helped my picky self find exactly the right dish for me. Valet parking is complimentary and street parking is available. I love the seafood options at Clancy’s. Their pepper seasoning is a juicy and mouthwatering option that truly captures the fresh taste of seafood. For those of you who are dragged there by your seafood loving companions but aren’t a huge fan of seafood MUST try their seared ahi tuna salad. The dressing tastes like a homemade sauce my grandma makes. the soy sauce was altered and tasted lighter, thus completely complimenting the tuna. In terms of the portion sizes, they can be small. I had no problem since I am a light eater, but if you’re looking to fill yourself up, make sure to order appetizers.

The best part of Clancy’s is the bar. And when you’re sitting on the restaurant side, the best part is what is brought to you from the bar. I love to come here for drinks. When you drink, you don’t notice any«bad stuff.» I gotta tell you, something is missing from this place. I used to love everything about Clancy’s but I told a friend how I LIKE it here(I don’t LOVE it like I used to), and she said she noticed that service has gone downhill. I don’t want to say bad things, and deter anyone from coming here, but when you arrive in time for the«early bird» and your server tells you that she didn’t put your order in until 5:40, so you don’t qualify for the discount, it takes away from the overall experience. Also, I had to go to the bar and get water for my table because the server disappeared. I miss the servers who would go out of their way to accommodate you, not sabotage you. Anyways, I don’t know why that happened, but unfortunately it did and now my view of Clancy’s is mixed. I like the food a lot, the décor is fun, and I’ll come here again, but not in the near future because the last visit didn’t make me or my guests feel welcome.

Cannot believe it’s taken me years to finally write a review of this genuine Glendale seafood establishment. Although the city has gone through many years of renovations and new additions this has stood the test of time. A beacon of consistency justifying it’s existence, it has served countless patrons over the years and the regulars who hangout will attest this place is legendary. The mature staff has always been gracious, courteous and attentive. Prices are moderately higher than most but the nostalgia and ambiance more than make up for the cost of the meal. I highly recommend the Spicy Bloody Mary a bowl of Clam Chowder with warm sourdough bread with whipped butter(so good!!). Prices for dinner are slightly higher than lunch and parking in the back is complimentary.

Stopped off for dinner on Mother’s Day, no reservations but it’s a large restaurant and they were able to seat us right away. Food: 7:20 pm they were already out of king crab and prime rib, understandable since it was Mother’s Day. We ordered instead a half dozen oysters, cioppino, and the potato crusted Chilean sea bass. Oysters came out first, not sure what type they were but they were on the smaller side. Fresh, briny, served with a spritz of lemon and cocktail sauce, nice start to the meal. Sea bass comes out on a bed of pasta, nice portion but nothing outstanding for such a great piece of fish. Cioppino was okay, lots of broth and not spicy at all. Would have liked some nice crusty sourdough to soak up the sauce but the dish is jot served with bread. Tried using the rolls they give(which were tasty with the honey butter) but it didn’t match with the broth for some reason. Decent but nothing memorable, might have been different if we’re able to order the prime rib and king crab but we’ll never know. Service: Our server was polite, relatively quick, but like the food nothing really stood out. I guess«not bad» is good but nothing memorable like the food. Atmosphere: A little on the older side, seafood motif as can be expected. Our menu’s definitely have seen better days as the covers had large rips in them. It’s a large place with lots of seating but again nothing really to complain about but nothing to really praise either. Value: Average for a seafood place, about $ 90 for two with no steak or crab/lobsters ordered. Would I come back? Probably not.

First off this is not about the food. I have heard good thing about this place from my friends but I will never be back and will tell them to stay away from this place Waiter was terrible(bald guy name Joey) attitude, talking down to us while we were ordering, everything we asked didn’t come or took 10 mins like a spoon… Not that this place will read this or even care.

This was my first time here! It was absolutely delicious! My boyfriend and I went on a Monday night, it was soooooo delicious. The bread that is a starter is amazing! It’s so soft and sweet. We then had the shrimp scampi appetizer, the shrimp is so full and juicy. We split the lobster and filet, which was PLENTY for two people. My boyfriend loved the lobster, and my filet was cooked to perfection. Our server Ricardo was so attentive and kind, he really made out first experience here amazing! The busser working was also very kind and was totally on top of keeping out table clean. The only reason I am not giving five stars is for another server, he was tall, white with dark wavy hair. Over hearing him speak to other tables he was very cold and rude, he watched my boyfriend look for the restroom, yet offered no guidance, and completely ignored us as we left. I’m SO thankful Ricardo was our server, to make us feel welcomed and wanted. I would definitely recommend this restaurant!

The food is delicious. I really enjoyed my Orange Roughy drizzled with lemon butter sauce! Super fluffy and flavorful. I also tried my parents’ shrimp scampi and red snapper. The shrimp was cooked perfectly and seasoned well. I would get this next time. The red snapper was good, but my roughy was definitely better. Great service and ambiance.

Great seafood spot in Glendale, foods always fresh, service is great and parking is easy to find on the street or through valet! Their menu has a great variety, but we stopped in specifically for the delicious clam chowder sourdough bread bowls. To start we ordered the Broiled Parmesan Mussels which were great! Served with a small butter dipping sauce, the mussels are crusted with Parmesan and are a great starter dish. We also ordered the Calamari Fritti, which is basically fries and calamari… they were alright, a bit too breaded for my taste. The Clam Chowder Sourdough bread bowls are the best I’ve had close to home. I’m sure if I venture out of Glendale there are some better spots, but these hit the spot every time! The chowder is delicious, not too creamy but not too light, and plenty of clams inside. They even crust the top of the bread bowl with butter and parmesan, making it perfect for dipping! Looking forward to going back soon!

Glendale is not known for a whole lot of Seafood restaurants. In fact, there’s only a handful of them in the area. Clancy’s has been around for a while and not a whole lot has changed except for the fact that I’m now of legal age to sit at the bar and drink. The recent times I have been here, we’ve sat at the bar and ordered regular seafood meals and drinks. They serve great martinis, and … Well, martinis. We’ve tried their raw oysters, and they were on par. I’ve had the Snapper plate, lobster bisque and clam chowder(not all in one sitting). Their portions are fairly big. As a matter of fact, I get kind of full on the appetizer bread they serve before the meal; so good! Overall, quality and ambiance(coolness factor) at the bar area is a B+. Service is a B for me and cleanliness is kind of… O & K

Came here for New Year’s Eve with a reservation. We waited approximately, 3 mins before we were seated at our table.(Thumbs up) The wait time to get our bread and honey butter was about 5 mins after we placed it our drinks.(Thumbs up). No daily specials on the menu(thumbs down) due to holiday. Our food was bit cold, but good enough to eat it. I had the crab cake plate with rice and veggies. The crab cakes were good, but I just wish it had some kinda sauce like Alfredo to make it more savory. I felt like it was missing something. The veggies were a bit warm too. The BF had the seafood plate and he said it was good. The fries were your regular crispy fries — from a plastic bag. The seasoning on the calamari and shrimp were okay. They were all deep fried in oil.(Fat problems) The lighting is very dim and relaxing. It actually allows you to stuff your face and lick your fingers away. The ground at the restaurant had like hay on the ground. I think. I can’t recall. I love their Tiffany lamps at every table. Will I dine here again. Yes!!! Hopefully, it’s a bit hotter of a plate.

Clancy is good for seafood. They use to have a AYCE fish and chips but that ended this year. Which I was pretty sad about. Cause the fish is pretty good. This time i ordered shrimp and fries. The hubby still ordered the fish and chips. Still awesome. The kids ordered a plate of shrimps and fries. They gave a good amount of food on the kids plate. The kids meal and fish and chips come with dessert which was pretty good deal. We got a scoop of ice cream and banana pudding. The banana pudding was different not bad. But I’ll pass on that next time. Oh yeah we got clam chowder. I love the clam chowder there. Oh and the bread omg that is a meal in itself. Just add their butter and you can eat two baskets full. Will I come back even though there isn’t anymore AYCE fish and chips. Yes I would.

(Dined 03÷12÷14 W @ 7:00pm): A favorite stomping ground since college, but it took an old friend’s wedding that found me back here after more than a decade! A longtime friend since junior high visited from out of town for a mutual friend’s wedding, and Clancy’s Crab Broiler was his first evening stop during this long nuptials weekend. Clancy’s was one of our favorite watering holes back in da day as the Blue Whale Bar was a great place where we hang out, mingled, caught a game, and annoyed with our karaōke singing. The vibe was still the same except we were simply older. My buddy ran late so I settled in and made myself at home again: Lobster Bisque, Sourdough Bread, Pint of Tricerahops($ 2.95 + $ 6.50×2) — This was a decent size cup of soup. It was hot, creamy, thick and had the right amount of lobster. Add the soup crackers and some Tabasco sauce for a perfect treat! The sourdough bread was fresh and unlimited. Now, by its name alone I should’ve guessed the Tricerahops would be extra hoppy which it was. But the second pint was easier than the first. I’m not a huge fan of really hoppy beers as it reminded me of liquid wheat… kind of like some gins I’ve had. Icelandic Fish Cod & Chips($ 18.95) — OMG! You got big pieces of lightly battered cod that broke apart easily and melted in your mouth like butter. The tartar sauce added a bit of texture and accentuated flavor to an already wonderful catch. The fries had a nice crunchiness and seasoning to them. The coleslaw was a tad runny and light on flavor, but the cabbage was crisp. Be warned — you won’t want to share the cod! Yella Pilsner on tap($ 6.00×2) — I must’ve been feeling good, so I invited a nearby friend to join us for drinks. She opted for this tasty liquid with its light hoppy taste. I’ve had before so I sipped on hers. Service — An attractive young woman by the name of Rosalia was my bartender and server as I parked it at the bar. It wasn’t too busy at this time so the service was excellent. Plus, it helped that she was friends with my buddy whom I was meeting. From the table settings, brews, and grub, everything was timely delivered with some chit-chat and smiles. All was good! Parking(free) — They had two private lots — self and valet parking. Otherwise, there was residential street parking on the nearest cross streets. However, check the posted signs for any restrictions. Atmosphere, décor, ambience — Throughout was a rich dark wood theme. The Blue Whale Bar area was decorated with some whale bones , knick-knacks, mounted animals , and a slew of other odds-and-ends. The bar itself was long and well-stocked . The restaurant itself was really spacious with a ton of tables and booths(no outdoor seating). Electric lighting was dim and kind of intimate while no natural lighting was present as the windows were tinted. TVs were everyone at the bar, and I believed there was background music. Or just wait until the karaōke started. Attire — Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. Overall, Clancy’s Crab Broiler felt like that old pair of favorite jeans that easily slipped on and went with everything. It was far too long since I was last here, but it felt just as comfortable now as it did then. Both the service and food were still top-notch albeit the prices have adjusted with the times as expected. But this was definitely still one of the places you’d want to visit when you visited Glendale. The local charm was evident, alive, and well. However, I didn’t know if they had happy hour. I found exceptionally good value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above(total paid experience was around $ 51.00 before tip). The food portions and friendly service would win you over. And they accepted my credit card of choice… AMEX! 4.5STARS

Clancy’s Crab Broiler is located at Central and Wilson. Valet parking is offered however, street parking is available as well. Met up with friends here at Clancy’s for dinner, for the holidays before everyone went off on their merry way. We had reservations for six o’clock though we probably didn’t need to reserve a table as there were only eight of us, and the restaurant didn’t pick up until later. Service was pretty good once the server warmed up a little. He ended up being very friendly, helpful and pretty efficient considering he seemed to be one of two servers from what I could see. His support staff helped him but they were hit or miss. For my meal, I chose the: Clancy Bowl(Shrimp, clams, mussels, scallops and calamari in a pepper broth. $ 18.95) Great flavor but a very small portion. So small, that I was still hungry and not only opted for dessert, but I ended up picking up something else on the way home. A few of my friends chose the AYCE Cod special. Comes with a heaping amount of fries and a few pieces of cod at a time. The consensus was that the establishment hoped to fill you up on fries so the amount of cod served would be limited. I didn’t try any but my friends all said it was okay. One thing that stood out is the bread. It’s served with a special butter and I wish I had filled up on more of the bread because it would have made up for the child sized portion I had for my entrée.
