If Customer Service and happy employees are a plus for you, Golden Spoke Cyclery is the place to go! I purchased bikes from G.S. a few years ago for my wife and I, and from the beginning felt as if my business and satisfaction were important to them. They went out of their way to explain the different bikes that were available for us after learning what our specific uses were for the bikes. Every time I return the bikes for Spring Cleaning, They are returned to me clean and ready to go. I have even gone into the shop unannounced and they have fixed a flat immediately. Being a gadget-​lover, the owner always breiefs me on the latest gizmos and I must say that this shop has quite the inventory. If asked where I would buy a bike, I would never hesitate recommending ths wonderful shop.

This place is great. I’ve been thinking about buying a bike and just stopped in one day to see what they had. Lonnie was extremely helpful and informative. They help you find the right bike for your height/​build and planned usage and don’t try to upsell you. I got to ride the bikes around the parking lot to try them out. Ended up buying a bike, a gel seat (my idea, not the salesman) and a water bottle holder (my idea) for $ 227. Everything on the bike is warranteed for 1 yr except tires and tubes. So excited about this purchase!

This is the reason I like shopping with a small local place. I went in late in the afternoon with a leaky tire. He confirmed my suspicion that I would need a new tube and proceeded to install it while we chatted about bicycles and small business climate. Then he tried to charge me less than the service was worth, especially as I did not have to make a second trip back to pick up the tire.
They have been in business with the same owner for I think over 20 years, now in their 3rd location. I have an issue with a seat post so I will be back in soon.

I think my bike is working better than when I bought it [8] years ago. I took my Specialized HardRock in for a tuneup and it was done in just a few days and looks great too. Thanks John, GREAT job.

It is very refreshing to find a business like Golden Spoke. My girlfriend and I were able to buy some new Diamondback bikes via an irresistible sale. They arrived and we assembled them ourselves but they just didn’t feel «right». A couple calls around town and we decided to take them to Golden Spoke for some tuning. When we arrived the guys at the desk immediately knew information about our specific model and helped us check them in. Initially quoted a couple days, our bikes were both ready later that day. The best part? They realized that the bikes only needed a little work and didn’t charge us for the full «tune-​up». Needless to say, their stand-​up service, while less profitable today, will guarantee our faithful return visits.

My tandem-​mate and I took our «bicycle made for two» here for a standard tune-​up since we hadn’t had one since we bought the bike.
The staff (owner maybe?) was very friendly and knowledgeable about our bike: an example, he told us that Shimano, the maker of our tandem, was notorious for poor gears. Our bike did, in fact, have a hard time shifting gears. But when we picked it back up he fixed them!
The Golden Spoke is a great place for a cheap tune-​up (only $ 40!). The service will take a couple of days, but it is well worth the wait!

I’m short. I’m not incredibly short, but I cannot say the same for my legs. I’ve had a difficult time with bikes due to this and when I began the semester at ASU last autumn, I decided that if I’m going to spend a lot of time on a bike, I need one I can ride comfortably.
Golden Spoke is decently priced and the employees are incredibly patient. After discussing my needs, the owner helped me look through the bikes for something with a shorter leg spacing. I was able to test out bikes in the parking lot and eventually fell in love.
They could have ripped me off multiple times over a couple of visits on locks and bike racks, but he was straightforward each time about what would actually meet my needs. Every suggestion has actually resulted in a lower priced product and I’ve never had an issue with anything I’ve purchased here.
