I paid $ 4.99 per pound for chicken kabob. Was going to buy beef kabob but was $ 9.99. Their chicken tastes great and the market itself is well organized, but is about $ 1.50 more expensive than other places. There are too many equally good but cheaper alternative in Glendale to come back here.

I saw this place an Unilocal with great reviews so I had to try it. It’s neat to order your food and walk around their cute grocery store while waiting for my food. The place was neat and clean with very nice employees I got the chicken kabob plate($ 14). It had rice, tomato, pepper, hummus and lavosh bread. You can pick either thigh or breast meat. I went with thigh but next time I will try breast. I wasn’t a fan of the thigh meat because it had a very strong weird gamey taste to it. They gave a lot of food so I was able to make two meals out of one plate and that is a huge plus for me.

Came here for dinner. My boyfriend had the beef kabob rice plate and I had a BIG beef sandwich with soup. The sandwich was so big I saved the other half for the next day and my BF had to help me eat the other half. I can’t say much about his plate but I’m sure he loved it because he finished his entire rice plate. I also love this place because it has a little produce section and marinated meats ready to buy for a BBQ. We came here about a couple months ago and picked up everything all at once, including a snack from the food counter. There’s also a place to sit and eat inside and outside of the market.

one day I went there with my aunt, she was so hungry, she wanted to find a cheap food nearby, the food was not really good and was not good or more suitable price, i mean it was a little expensive that was not good enough food. The store had a small restaurant(Iranian BBQ,…) or small grocery store and also sells fresh«Barbari» bread! and the store was clean! so the problem is to improve the quality of food or change the price for reasonable! I could rate 2 stars but the place was nice and clean! they must improve their store!

Im super greatful that I can walk here from where I live, that the parking isn’t a pain like the rest of Glendale(for the days that im driving). Most importantly the food is delicious, the ladies cooking are super sweet. I just wish they’d understand what im saying. I dont speak Armenian… I tried calling in an order so I wouldn’t have to wait long and the person who answered didnt speak English either. The guy at the register does though and hes so polite and nice… the food takes longer to be ready than most other places but I guess it’s worth the wait because it’s is delicious… I will give it four out of five stars just because of the amount of time I have to wait for the food… but I will happily go back over and over again.

I have now lived for 8 years in Glendale when I first moved here my husband and I would frequent the local Armenian markets and whenever I was with my husband we would be fine but would get dirty looks from people that worked there and customers. A few times my husband would even get comments about how he should be ashamed of himself as an Armenian for not being with an Armenian. We stop going to the markets to avoid that kind of attitude after my daughter was born she loved the Armenian cookies, and cuisine so I decided to give it another try and visited different stores but always got bad service I would be standing in line and the cashiers would take the person behind me even though it was clear that I was next it was just bad experience after bad experience. One day I was driving and saw Grand Foods Store with a big sign saying Grand Opening I didn’t stop that day but told my husband about it who informed it was owned by an Armenian family so I was skeptical but I decided to try them and I am so glad I did. From the moment I walked in I was greeted with a smile, while shopping I was approached and asked if I needed help when I went to go order some meat the lady was so amazingly sweet and helpful. I even asked for some Armenian recipes and what I would need that the lady asked another person to help me they took the time and answer my questions and not once give me attitude but instead help me. Finally I got to the cashier and it was a young man who asked me, if I had found everything okay I was so emotional and had a lump in my throat that I just choke a low yes. I left feeling so happy. Tonight I went to go get my kids their hummus, cucumbers, pita, and gatta cookies that they love. I walked out and put my groceries in the car and saw a women sitting outside I thought that was the owner so I approached her and asked her if she was she said yet. I said I don’t mean to interrupt you but I just wanted to say Thank you thank you, you have a great store and amazing staff she said oh thank you I said no really you have no idea how great I feel coming here and told her without going into details just that I’ve had some bad experience at other Armenian stores and here I felt so welcome and it meant a lot to me. She said thank you, you just made my day. I said you have got a new customer I will be back. Everyone check this place out their produce, meat is fresh, they also make food there and cater. .

My family and I have been coming here for at least 10 years and both locations are as good as it gets when it comes to fresh meats in Glendale. The beef kabob is the best I have ever had. Their BBQ is seriously addicting. Once in a while I order the ready made bbq and pick it up for my co workers and I and we’re never disappointed. The servings are plenty and the pickup process is great. Everyone is always very happy to help. Overall: great meat whether you cook it yourself or pick it up for lunch. Definitely recommend them to everyone!

This market used to be called central grand market but they now changed the name to grand foods after they relocated. I was excited to have them back because of the fresh bread they bake every morning unfortunate I got there to early in the morning and they has not started baking their bread yet. So note to self and others their bread is made mon, wed, thur, fri from 10:30am and on and Saturdays and Sunday’s from 8am and on. Hope that helps when going to pick up their yummy bread.

We live about five minutes away and never knew about this place until we were driving on Glenoaks today. Out of curiosity, and seeing that the handicapped parking spot was vacant, we decided to go in. First of all, clean, clean, clean! We spent the first 15 minutes just looking at all the interesting and unique items they had on the shelves. We’re not Armenians so, yes, a lot was different for us and it was pretty cool seeing Rose jam, preserved figs, etc. Fruits and vegetables were fresh and well priced. Loved looking at the meat section as well because everything looked so red and fresh. There were marinated meats and chicken, plus a great deli counter brimming with cheeses and trays of sauces and accoutrements. We found a number of items to take home. They have a lovely café serving kebabs, sandwiches, soups, and a daily entrée. We decided to stay for lunch and ordered a beef kebab combo plate plus a lulekabob. Wow, generous portion that we were able to share. Everything was super tasty. Hummus was awesome. This is now our go to place for kebab plates! Last, but equally important, I can’t say enough good things about the level of courtesy and friendly service from everyone. I got the feeling they were happy to be working there. Can’t get better than that.

One of the cleanest freshest places to get Armenian BBQ to order. The produce and the selection of drinks is impressive. A must order for delivery as well.

I used to go to the old location and loved it but this new location is even better. It’s much bigger and you could dine on site. Great improvement. They changed their name, but it’s the same one that was on central. The staff is friendly. I love the meat department; It’s so GOOD. This is our place to buy when our family has BBQ’s. You get quality meats. My favorites are the yogurt with shallots, the eggplant roasted, Tabbouleh, hummus, the breads, marinated dark chicken and FM. Wow, now i’m hungry! :)

I purchased all my groceries and raw meat products from Grand Foods when they were on Central and I so happy that they opened a new bigger location even closer to my house! I’ve always had a good experience with the meat I buy from Grand Foods. My bbq’s are always successful cause the meats on point and they have the best sides(hummus, yogurts, salads, etc). Besides the meat they have«sangak». Sangak is a highly desired type of bread that goes great with everything. I don’t think anywhere else carries sangkak bread. The best part about their sangak is that they make it fresh right in front of you!

This place was wonderful! I bought the meat for a get together I was having here and it was delicious. Their workers are friendly and very helpful. They did a great job with the place; it’s spacious, clean, and modern. I highly recommend this place. Even their sandwiches and ready hot foods are yummy. If you haven’t gone to grand foods yet I suggest trying it out asap!

The grocery store smells good when you walk in. Everyone is friendly, eager to serve. Owner Arbi is quick w a smile. They plan to offer a buffet lunch and have indoor seating. The meat counter will give you plenty of ideas for dinner. Marinated lamb, marinated pork ribs in addition to luleh, kabobs. The fish counter was not stocked when I visited. Getting in and out of the parking lot is still tricky with many cars whizzing by so be careful.
