How convenient that they are next door to my favorite Falafel Arax… I love their«Saroukh» Boreg(Cheese Boreg in the shape of a Rocketship). This bakery is an old-school Armenian bakery specializing in Middle-Eastern goods. Highly recommended.

DELICIOUS. You can never go wrong with Sasoun. They simply deliver nothing short of perfection. They have a rather limited menu, which includes but is not restricted to lehmejun(more commonly known as «Armenian pizza»), cheese byorek(similar to a cheese turnover), spicy cheese byorek, spinach byorek and more. These delicious treats are usually accompanied by tahn, which is a savory yogurt based drink that is both tasty and refreshing. Pro-tip: when ordering the lehmejun, squeeze lemon juice to taste all over the lehmejun. It provides the perfect citric balance with the rich flavor of the lehmejun. Whether you’re super hungry or just need a quick snack, Sasoun is there to deliver consistency and greatness every time.

I went in the evening during the week and their was no wait. Classic diner feel with an upscale menu(in both choices and prices). The menu was full of good choices I tried the crab cakes as a starter and the stuffed meatloaf. The crab cakes were good, particularly paired with the fresh guacamole. The meatloaf had potential but seemed a little under seasoned for me potato and vegetable sides were done just right.

I normally come here when I’m picking up bbq meat in Glendale. I normally buy the lamajune and beef borek. Lamajune are $ 1 and beef borek are $ 3.

No vegan options so I grabbed some dried fruits they had in a container — pretty good stuff. It’s hard to find dried pears but you can always count on an Armenian bakery to have them!

I don’t care much about the service here, what you see is what you get and I really don’t expect much from these people but the most important part is the food, lahmejouns are fresh, crispy, meaty and delicious. It’s definielty my go to out of all the lahmejoun places in glendale/la creacenta area. The spicy cheese Borges are also so so good. Bread. good, cheese. good(Joey accent from Friends) I just love the food overall, the spinach booregs aren’t too bad either, that’s like a plan b when they don’t wanna cook new booregs when they run out. Overall, good spot *thumbs up*

The lahmajun is to die for!!! I love this little gem of a bakery. I wish there was actually a spot to sit and enjoy, but this is more of a grab and go type of bakery. Prices are extremely reasonable. Whenever I’m in Glendale I always want to go here for a snack.

Decided to try out this place randomly from Unilocal cuz I happened to be near by. Man, this place is awesome! Too bad I live all the way in oc. I ordered the lahmajunes and the beoreks. Uhh. Awesome? Yes. Price, even more so. It’s only $ 1 for a lahmajune! That stuff literally break dances on your tongue lol. On top of it all, the elder gentleman that works here is very friendly.

I love Turkish and Armenian cuisine because these two nations have very unique spices that make their food very different from all the Mediterranean nations. I had heard this place had amazing Armenian«Sfiha» or Pizzas and I decided to check it out. They have a great spinach and feta cheese roll, brushed with garlic butter and served piping hot. They also have a great«lamajoon» which is a very thin flat bread served with ground beef/lamb and a zesty thyme/oregano type tomato sauce. The sauce is filled with chunks of tiny tomatoes and infused with a lot of zesty flavor. I just ended up getting two things from this bakery, but I will definitely come back and check out all the other pastries they have to offer.

Glad to see this place now opens on Mondays. Besides the wonderful lahmajunes, the cheese beoreks are tasty, too. I don’t know what kind of cheese they put inside, but I like the flavor. The spinach beoreks are pretty good, too. Lahmajunes are 90 cents each while the small beoreks are $ 1.50 each. They make a good snack or lunch.

Delicious! Best Lahmajune, and Maneishe I’ve ever had! This place is always a hit, I’ve never been let down by the food or the service. Make sure you come in early, because they get extremely busy and sell out of most things on the menu.

Best Lamejun I’ve had in Boston, LA, Yerevan MUST eat it hot out of the oven Don’t let them reheat cold ones Sit in your car with a cold pear soda or than and taste a little slice of heaven and taste it again, and again until you’re ready to burst! It’s thin, juicy, a little crunchy and a little chewy Their dough is the best and the meat has great flavor Not as good cold or reheated but amazing fresh Other locations sadly do not compare

Lahmacun at $ 0.80 a pop. How can you go wrong? I wish it came with veggies and lemon though. Still if you’re near here, I can’t think of a better cheap/fast breakfast.

Love love this local tiny bakery. It’s a hole in the wall, but do they know how to make ‘mou3ajanat’ i.e. floury middle eastern edibles! I usually pick up pick the traditional manaeesh,(lahmajuns) meat flatbread type pizza, and(beoregs) cheese pies. But this week, I picked up their new meat pies and wow! Delicious. Went back to get more and decided to try the potatoe pies. For those two new items, they deserve a 5 star! The reason I like this place is that the taste of their menu items has been consistent for a good ten years! I appreciate that. I took some items to the office last week, and my coworkers in the valley said«you are lucky in Glendale, Sasoun hasn’t changed it’s recipe!» Also, the other reason I like going here is because secretly, it gives me so much joy to stand in the small counter area, and see food items coming out of a huge industrial oven… reminds me of Lebanon and the bakeries there! Also, at times, while waiting for my order, customers walk in to get a one item and eat it there standing. This would be a common scene in Beirut, not so much in Glendale. Nostalgia… yeah that, and gratifying taste of the spicy cheese beoregs and the very new heavenly potato pies!

When in Glendale… I visited Sasoun Bakery for some Lahmajune($ 0.90) and a small cheese beorek($ 1.50). While I haven’t had lahmajune or cheese beorek from any other place before, I must say that this place was pretty good. The lady at the counter was extremely friendly and patient with me while I asked her what everything on the menu was.(Sorry, I’m a complete noob) Their baked goods are made fresh from their kitchen and you have the option of purchasing your goods cold(better for transport and storage) or getting it reheated in their nice toasty oven(for immediate consumption). If you’re looking for the place, it’s a small shop situated in a plaza, so it’s not too hard to find. They also have ample parking spots available. So if you’re in the area and are looking for something to snack on, this would be a good place to try out.

The best and the only Armenian bakery I go to for the spicy cheese beoreks and lahmajunes. I’ve tried a few other places that sell the same things and nothing compares to this place. I used to go to their 1st location on Santa Monica Blvd(a loooooong time ago) until I found out that they opened this one in Glendale! I was thrilled! It’s so much closer and they have a parking lot. Haha! So if you’ve never had Armenian food, start by visiting any of the Sasoun Bakeries and try a cheese beorek or a spicy cheese beorek. And if you like it, then you should come back and try their lahmajune. It’s what they call an Armenian pizza. A very thin, round dough with ground beef and veggies on top. It’s a little spicy, but so good! They also have a meatless beorek with just spinach, onions and spices that’s also good. It tastes a little sour, so don’t expect a subtle flavor. And when you order anything, you can ask them to warm it up in one of their ginormous ovens. They usually ask you if you want it warmed up, but just in case they don’t, you can always ask. And besides, it tastes better warmed up, because the dough gets a little crispy on the outside and the filling/toppings get warmed through and I’m telling you now, your first bite will be the beginning of an addiction. Or it could be a painful one… from getting burned by the hot pastry. Yikes!
