I ordered the ube overload cake and the chocolate cake. This was my first time trying ube cake so I don’t really have anything to compare it to, but I liked the flavor. The texture was light and the frosting was fairly light too. It kind of reminded me of a denser sponge cake. The chocolate cake was a lot more dense than the ube cake. The frosting in between was light, but I didn’t really like the flavor of it. The frosting on the top and outside tasted like store bought frosting(which I actually liked). The slices of cake were reasonably priced at $ 2.50 each. They also had a nice selection of full sized cakes and other individually wrapped ube sponge cakes and breads. The store itself is really cute and clean! I also liked how there was plenty of parking in front of the store.

Red Ribbon is well known amongst Filipinos. We come here for our goodies. Empanadas, Mamons, Ensaymadas, Mango Cakes, Ube Cakes, Shakes and more. I was craving some Arroz Caldo(rice soup) and stopped by here. They have food combos including a drink, the entrée and a dessert. The pricing is moderate and isn’t too expensive. You can order all occasion cakes here. All of their servers are typically from the Philippines. Every shop I’ve been to, this is the case. They speak English as well as Tagalog. The shop was super clean and they are always helpful. This location has a parking lot out front in a plaza.

Decent halo halo for $ 5. They add mango so it tasted a bit different(even a little gooey) but still yummy. I was missing the langka and saba. It also came with leche flan, mango ice cream(which had a little freezer burn), sweet beans, kaong, & nata de coco. My bf had the tiniest slice of chocolate mousse cake but enjoyed it. I personally prefer their baked goods over the halo halo. Their cheesy ensymada is bombb.

Who isn’t a fan of Red Ribbon? This Red Ribbon is very similar to all other Red Ribbons. The baked goods were delicious. They even gave me fresher mamon when I asked for it. Plenty of parking and plenty of sweets for everyone!

Simply the best for all your Filipino pastry favorites! They usually have everything in stock. You can call ahead to ask if you are looking for something specific. Easy parking in front.

I really am not a big fan of the Red Ribbon bakeshop… tried it and it’s just ok… had the palabok and didn’t like it at all. The arrozcaldo is ok. Goldilocks is better. Where is Goldilocks located here in LA???

I’ve been to a number of pot lucks who serve Red Ribbon pastries. I decided to stop by and pick up some chicken empanadas. Wow! Chicken dessert is what I call them! Absolutely, delicious… They have a salty sweetness taste to them. I can taste them as I’m typing. The location is clean. They also serve coffee! Staff are very nice and helpful.

Yes the baked goods are excellent however, when you order something and pay for it ahead of time you would expect that when come in to pick up you would get what you ordered — not the case. This has happened to me several times at this Red Ribbon and often times I would have to purchase something more expensive. I think that this is an extremely bad practice. I will avoid ordering anything from this Red Ribbon. The workers at this Red Ribbon were clueless — they did not even know when their manager was coming in or her phone number.

This is a nice, clean, Filipino bakery chain with friendly staff and delicious products. The best item that they sell, in my opinion, is their mango cake. It is a moist, fluffy, and light sponge cake with a subtle mango flavor in the cream and not overly sweet. It sort of tastes like a tres leches cake, but not that moist/wet and with real mango. Their empanadas are also delicious. The staff was so helpful in explaining their different cakes and sizes available. And they have an abundance of cakes, so no need to order in advance. Just walk in and take away! parking — free lot shared with other businesses tip — they will write a birthday or celebration message on the cake for free!

Can’t see any reasons why I would deduct stars from this bakeshop! Didn’t expect much out of this place to be honest, but I found that the inside was very clean and organized, and the prices were reasonable as well. I had the chocolate cake, cheese mamaison(?), beef empanada, and the halo halo. My favorite was the beef empanada and i liked that it had a more savory taste than empanadas from porto’s. The chocolate cake was too sweet for me but a sugar fix doesn’t hurt. The halo halo and cheese mamaison didn’t quite match up to my expectations but i think it’s just my taste in desserts that it fails to satisfy, because i am aware that the halo halo is a really popular shaved ice dessert! I’d prefer shaved ice from Paris baguette on pacific and arden. However, i’d definitely come back to try a cake and another beef empanada! Yum!

This red ribbon location has a very clean look to it with newly painted brown walls and white tables. Red ribbon is a classic Filipino chain bakery with all the favorite cake flavors such as ube and mango cake! Come here if you need a classic Filipino flavor cake for birthday parties or other special events. I come here all the time for the chicken empanadas though, that’s my current craving. It’s a bit dry with a crusty flaky shell and raisins for added flavor. So chicken empanadas are a must try in my opinion!

I randomly got lost in Glendale this weekend and saw Red Ribbon Bakery. I seriously thought it was a Red Robbin restaurant! I went inside and noticed it was a Filipino bakery with sweets, cakes, and breads made to go and prepackaged. I ordered the chiffon pound cake — Its a sponge cake of sorts with a buttery taste and lightly sweetened with sugar, it was pretty good. I also ordered the cashew brownie and it was very tasty. It was a fudge brownie with crushed salted cashews on top. It was only $ 1.00 each and very good! They also have the traditional Filipino sweet bread roll to go. I ended up getting a few of these packaged goodies to go and they were all really tasty. There aren’t too many tasty Filipino bakeries in Glendale, but this place is worth checking out if you are in the area!

I was enjoying the chocolate slice of cake I bought and halfway through I bit into something very gross and bitter! It tasted like a bitter pill but it was already crushed. It tasted like a bitter antibiotic pill. Whatever what’s left with that pill was whitish color. So gross though! I just hope I don’t get sick!!! The customer service is not that great either. Ugh.

Various reasons to visit RRB: 1. Halo-halo: Halo means mix. You keep mixing the ingredients, and it becomes halo-halo. It is the filipino’s version of shaved ice with all kinds of sweetened beans, garbanzos, leche flan, caramelized plantains, sweet potato, young coconut(macapuno) and many more, with more sugar added and evaporated milk, served in a tall glass or a bowl. Scoop of vanilla or ube ice cream may served on top. More sugar!!!(There goes the sweet tooth). 2. Cakes: Ube(purple yam) and mango cake. RRB is really famous for these 2 heavenly cakes. 3. Ube Smoothie. It is the most purple-colored smoothie I have ever seen. Refreshing. 4. Mamon. Filipino sponge cake. It is so fluffy and yummy. 5. Chicken empanada. These little treasures are off the hook! So fresh and the the added sweetness made it authentic.

As a kid, I used to frequent the Sunset/Gower location quite a bit, however, ever since they opened the Glendale location, I’ve been coming here since. Red Ribbon’s Filipino flavor cakes are the best here. In my opinion better than Goldilocks. My favorites are the mango cake, pandan macapuno, ube macapuno, choco mocha crunch cake. For those who don’t what pandan is, it’s a sweet asian herb that sort of looks like a palm tree but smaller. Macapuno is a glazed coconut product which is really sweet. Other than the cakes, their breads are delish from butter mamon and ensaymada. I’d rather have Goldilocks ensaymada though. Their chicken empanada is very good also with flavorful chicken and potato. It’s a great snack to have for the middle of the day. Parking at Red Ribbon is okay with the exception that the spaces are really tight. If you can find a spot on Colorado Blvd., it’s easier parking. Service here is always friendly and welcoming.

I’m a sucker these days for the mango shake… Gotta at least order 2 of them. One for now. Save the other for later… Perfect on a summer afternoon. Slushy mango flavor, not overly sweet… Pretty damn perfect, in my opinion. Honorable mention goes to the sago at gulaman drink… Shave ice, syrup, with tapioca balls & jelly. Yes, pls. The mango bars are delicious. A moist mango cake in bar form with chunks of real mango scattered in each bite. I get the 6 pack instead of buying individual. You save a little bit. Love the mango cake. Perfectly light but full of mango goodness. They also make some good chicken empanadas. Can’t beat the halo-halo to go… Two, pls.
