While there are scores of Armenian/Middle-Eastern bakeries in Glendale, Sipan is most impressive thanks to their consistency, quality and variety of products. I Recently stopped in to pick up some breakfast pizza(khachapuri) and Lahmajoon, and both were fresh and delicious. The boreks are also wonderful. I’ve tried so many other bakeries, but will only give my business to Sipan from now on! Best I’ve found so far.

The lahmajune and breakfast pizza sounded really interesting but were too salty and dry for me. I would have liked more sauce or moisture and airiness in the dough. Judging by other reviews, this place makes pretty authentic dishes, so maybe this type of food just wasn’t for me. Portions are huge, though — these were each basically small to medium-sized regular pizzas.

Falafel taco is very yummy and light. They even have falafel«lettuce», great for those watching their carbs! They have wraps for breakfast and lunch/dinner and it’s very fresh, made on the spot. It’s not a big place for big parties, but def good for pick up orders. The have breakfast pizzas as well(one box fed ¾ workers). It was a winner for my work colleagues. They loved it!

I work at the bike store next door to this bakery, and oh my god. Everything you can get is absolutely delicious. You can’t go wrong with lunch here, and the catering is delicious and fresh as well!

Amazing food from a little hole in the wall! I’m absolutely coming back. The customer service from the men working there and their suggestions on what to get and what not to get topped off the whole experience! :)

I’m in heaven. My only sadness is that I no longer live up the street from here :(I did a quick search for vegan in the area as I was in Glendale for other reasons and I came across this place. I knew I had to give it a try, I’m not Armenian but grew up with Armenian food in Glendale and I miss it since a lot of items aren’t vegan. But Sipan Bakery did not disappoint! I tried the falafel taco, zaatar manaeish, potato borek, and the spinach borek. Oh man, so simple yet so delicious. Enjoy the potato borek with some sriracha and you’re golden.

This place is Amazing!!! Especially during their happy hour where they have one-of-a-kind falafel tacos and other great treats for very very cheap. Their food is great quality and fresh and tastes amazing. I definitely will be frequenting this place more often.

I am by no means an expert in all things Armenian… yet. With great curiosity and a good friend who talks about Armenian bread from this place, I ended up here. Khachapouri: A bread boat with cheese, egg and some sausage. It was exactly what I had imagined. The bread was slightly browned but the texture inside was nice and almost like mozzarella cheese in terms of chewiness. If this was all I ate for breakfast, I’d be okay. 5⁄5 Lahmajune: It’s almost like pizza. This flatbread has cooked tomatoes, parsley, mint, garlic, onions… from what I remember tasting. 4⁄5 Maneish Zatar: Flatbread with olive oil, lemon and herbs. You’ll taste oregano, sesame seeds, thyme, sumac… and it has grittiness to it. It was good but I just don’t enjoy having a gritty feeling in my mouth. 3⁄5 Falafel Wrap: The falafel itself was pretty tasty and crunchy. But it was just alright. I would have skipped the wrap and just go with straight up falafel. 3⁄5 Shenorhagalem! Yes, that’s all I’ve learned so far.

This small unassuming restaurant in a strip mall has excellent food and super friendly people taking care of the customers. They make their own lavash right in front of you. The food is excellent and very reasonable. Every thing we ordered was freshly prepared and tasted great. This is my new favorite middle eastern place.

Seriously, one of the best falafels ever. Maybe even the top 2! Being a vegan and just a huge fan of falafels, I take them seriously lol. Love the environment there too. Friendly, easy going guys. One of them even let me try the Zahtar maneish(for free which is generous). Because the food is great is reasonably priced, I’ll definitely be showing up more often.

This place is going downhill. Used to be really good but when the owner is not in the store, it’s poorly managed and you get burnt/dry lahmajune… I wasn’t going to post but happened 3 times in a row.

Two words: Falafel tacos. Falafel, tomatoes, mint leaves, taratoor, & sumac on thin flatbread. Unconventional and delicious. I just went there and am already thinking about going back.

I wish I can review this awesome bakery on every possible media! It is one of the BEST bakeries I know– and I do know many. Service is tops! The owner who is usually slaving there, is great! He is quick, smart, and a real fun guy. The food is so very delicious!!! The breakfast pizza is a must. The falafel is a must, the mashrouha is a must, and on and on! Now they have an app, so you can order ahead of time and just swing by and pick up! Although I kind of miss hanging out in that small place which has a big heart and a bigger taste! Just love this small bakery! And totally love those carb loaded deliciousness with such aroma that you are lured and hooked!

I’m so glad Unilocal guided me to Sipan. It could easily go unnoticed but I guess filled outside seating might make you look twice. This was the first time trying the Zhatar sandwich wrap and I’m a big fan! The fresh baked wrap with the crushed olives had my mouth watering. Along with this I tried the falafel tacos, which again were freshly prepared served with tahini sauce. Soo good! The service was friendly and the cost is affordable. If you are in the area, give it a try!

Falafel taco. Order it! The wrapping for the taco is the fresh Armenian type bread that they make in house. Those little rounds of bread look like a tedious pain in the a** to make, maybe that’s why they aren’t officially on the menu. The taco may seem like fusion, but it consists of a very familiar combo. Falafal, mint, tomatoes, and yogurt sauce. Our taco was made fresh to order and it was piping hot and delicious. We sat inside the shop and enjoyed our Armenian delicacies even though it was stifling hot inside. The breads were baking and so were we. I’m glad we sat inside though, because we were able to experience the boisterous personality of the guy behind the counter. This guy was a character. He would ring up the inexpensively priced items and tell people they owed him one thousand two hundred seventy dollars or some other ludicrous amount. It was all in jolly good fun. His passion and genuine love for the food he crafted was evident, and he was trying to put a smile on the people that patronized him.
