I used to always go to Walmart on 91& Camelback for eye exams & they always did a excellent job. Never had no issues whatsoever, the eye doctor was amazing. Although, I decided to give Target a try to change things up. I regret going to Target so much. Although the eye doctor is very nice, I feel like he rushes to get you out the door. Doesn’t talk much to you to inform you about ones vision, etc. My previous eye doctor at Walmart explained everything to me & was extremely informative and I never felt rushed. NOT only did I wait about 1 hour for my eye appointment even after I had an appointment made already. BUT the staff working there was very rude, weren’t any employees that were bilingual. 2 weeks later after as we got told my glasses were their. I drove and the glasses were not here already and the ones that were ordered ended up being wrong so I had to wait 2.5 weeks more after 1 month my glasses arrived. I had a horrible experience at Target Optical and do not recommend anyone to go here. It’s a waste of time & money.

I have been having having my prescription here for about a decade. This is where I first got contacts. Thanks to the recession I ran out of contacts several years ago. Fortunately my eyes didn’t change that much during that time so my glasses are still functional. And I now have contacts again. I have a hard nose to fit frames on so I have sometimes gone elsewhere to get my glasses. They do an OK job here. I’ve had to ask a couple of times to drop the prescription in one eye so I don’t have to pay a fortune for my left eye lens that I don’t see much out of anyway and they have done it.

I came into this store looking for some updated glasses because the place I went to get my eye exam didn’t have much selection. I don’t know much at all about picking frames, I usually ending up making the wrong decision, so I really wanted to spend the time to get something trendy that would work with my face. Luke had pulled some frames off the display that he thought would work for me and I was surprised how well he could pick out good-looking glasses before I even tried them on. I ending up getting a cool pair of Ray-Bans that I always get complimented on, and a pair of D&G sunglasses for 50% off! I will be switching my doctor to this location, I was very happy with the time dedicated to making sure that I looked good, and felt good with my purchase. I ended up going back to the store for an adjustment and Clarissa helped me out, she was great. Good service is hard to find these days, and I think the staff at this Target optical have it figured out.

This place has upbeat staff, and great customer service! I went in to buy a pair of prescription glasses and ended up getting sun glasses too! The manager Luke took special care to make sure I got a frame that was perfect for my face shape. You could tell they don’t just want to sell you a pair of glasses but they actually want you to chose a pair that you will look and feel great in. If you are not really sure what style of glasses work the best for your face, I encourage you to purchase glasses here because they are really good at helping you pick out the right pair for you! Also I take a long time to decide what I want and I didn’t feel rushed or anything. Before target optical, I used to get my prescriptions at nationwide. Where the staff overbooks appointments and is totally disengaged with their customers. At target, it is the totally opposite experience. They have gained a repeat customer for life!

Went in to get new frames for myself. At first they started out nice and friendly. They ordered my glasses with no problem. It was when they came in is when the problem occurred. They ordered the wrong pair! So, the manager offered to correct the issue and to my choice I allowed it. Bad choice on my part. They messed it up even more. Apparently the glasses they ordered didn’t pass the inspection test. Ok. Makes sense. So they ordered another pair. Hoping it would correct the issue. We waited for about a week to call and check on them. When we called they«lost» the shipment. And it’s almost been a month since I initially ordered the first frames. So I go in to the store to have a few kind words with the tool of a manager Luke. I tell him what’s been going on and he looks at me like I’m a dumbass. He had no intention to correct the issue at all. Went rambling about how he can’t give corporates number out yada yada blah blah. He was completely rude to myself and my wife. So I’m stuck with frames I don’t even like and with a customer experience I wish I could forget. If I could give 0 stars I could. Please be warned. Do not shop at this location. They suck at customer service and have 0 information about hippa rules.

I was very disappointed to learn that Luxottica(the biggest eye-ware company on Earth) owns Target and Sears optical, they also own all the frames in their stores(Ray Ban, Oakley). Last year, Luxottica made over 77 million pairs of sunglasses and optical frames. They don’t make prescription lenses. They also own Sunglass Hut(the largest sunglass chain in the world), Pearl Vision Centers, Lens Crafters(the largest eye-wear retail chain in North America. The average cost of frames and lenses at Lens Crafters is about $ 300).Luxottica make glasses for prada, burberry, ralph lauren, bvlgari, tiffany, dolce & gabana, channal, etc… Their prices are outrageous. Luxottica frames, purchased at a Luxoticca retailer, are still charged at full MSRP. Want to have your product offered in a Luxottica-owned store? Good luck! It’s a monopoly offering an illusion of ‘choices’ to uninformed consumers. At one time Oakley got into a dispute about pricing with Luxottica, so Luxottica dropped them from their stores. Oakley’s stock immediately dropped and then Luxottica bought them out. Biggest competitor is Wal-Mart and Cost Co. Luxottica can set prices and there is nothing you can do about it other than NOT buy it. Luxottica also owns the nation’s second largest insurance vision care plan, EyeMed. My glasses cost $ 600+tax at Target and I had to pay the optometrist an additional $ 60 for the eye exam. The optometrist does not work for Target or Luxottica. As for the quality of the glasses, they had to send the lenses back 3 times before I could see clearly out of each eye with the glasses on. The employees didn’t seem to care that my vision was worse with the glasses on. They suggested I just wear them and get used to it. I argued that the whole point of getting glasses is so I can see clearly out of both eyes at the same time — not one eye blurry and one eye clear and be told to get used it for $ 660. By my third visit they got the prescription right. I am finally happy with the glasses but I know I was charged a minimum of 10x to 15x what they cost to make. I’ll be going to Cost Co or Wal-Mart for my eye exams from now on. More info here:
