I was so excited to see a place with piri piri chicken! That excitement quickly left once I tried it. Dry burnt chicken with no flavor of piri piri, probably because all I tasted was burntness. Rice was weak, vegetables soggy. Still on the hunt for something like Nandos. If anyone can help on that front let me know!!! The bread was good.

The employees are literally«Boneheads» as the establishment titles itself. My wife and I love exploring new places to eat especially if it’s in our own backyard. We are attempt to paleo/zone/whole 30 diet whenever feasible but we do have our cheat days. So after our workout we decided to try this place out; seafood on the gill with veggies… So right up our alley! So we walk in at 830pm after we see that they close at 900pm. Right away we see the female blond hair’d cook behind the counter give an OBVIOUS dirty look. Then we were greeted by a gentleman who took our order. We decided on sharing a plate. We settled on mahi-mahi with piri-piri mushroom topping. We requested if we could substitute the rice for a double portion of grilled zucchini. The gentleman taking our order gave us a «weird» look, hesitated, starred at us then hesitantly complied. Our order was done in a timely manner but, the taste and portion size was horrible. The fish was the size of a McDonald’s fillet of fish party and the saltiness was beyond gross. I had to drink water after every bite. Save your time and money and go to Pacific Fish Grill in West Covina.

Just left and I will never return. Spent close to $ 12 on some rice, half a corn on the cob, and some shrimp. The meal was the Bone Head Shrimp Special. The rice had a half ass attempt at having a BBQ flavor while the shrimp was lightly battered and covered in some nearly flavorless sauce. When I received my food, the server asked me if I wanted extra sauce so I said why not. He brought me a container of it which was nearly ice cold. That makes no sense serving it cold since the shrimp is served hot. Luckily I didn’t cover my food with it. The corn was also served nearly ice cold. For being labeled as «grilled corn on the cob» it tasted like it HADBEEN barbecued at one point, but not today. Obviously this place doesn’t use fresh ingredients. They totally freeze items then thaw them out when it’s time to serve it to a customer. I use the word thaw strongly since the cook didn’t even have the common since to properly reheat some corn. I will surely be taking my business elsewhere since this place was garbage.

So I was on my way to Baja Fresh but then I saw this place. What attracted me was the fish they offered. I got the salmon plate topped with mango salsa with grilled zucchinis and cilantro slaw. My Salmon was pretty dry… My boyfriend got the half chicken with rice and fries. Nothing really special. Chicken was dry on the inside and it came with no sauce. I probably won’t be coming back for a while… And it’s kinda pricey with no coupons.

Awful. I usually don’t even bother writing a review if the place is bad, but this place was so bad I thought the public should be informed. The service was slow, I paid 17 $ for an ahi sandwich which was on a disgusting stale bun. The manage came up to me during the meal and asked how it was. I told him about the bun, and he went to check out the buns(?). He came back to me and told me I must have gotten the last stale one, and walked away. It’s expensive and the service is a joke. AVOID!

Decided to stop by for lunch today and was impressed by the quality of food. Boneheads is a franchise based in the southeast United States. The GM Miguel was very polite and informative. He recommended the fish and chips and I have to say it was DELICIOUS!!! Boneheads serves their menu items with Piri Piri seasoning. It is a tangy pepper based sauce that is unique and extremely tasty! I will be back for sure to try a different menu item. Thanks again Miguel!

Had the Ahi and it was very good. I brought my folks and they really enjoyed their meal here the other day. There are really no places around here to get a good seafood meal, so happy this place opened up. The sides were great and the service was very friendly. I will def be going back. Thanks!

We tried this place for the first time yesterday. I had the Salmon with the Mango Salsa, Bean and corn salad and rice — DELICIOUS! My husband had the fish and chips, which was a little on the oily side, as was my son’s chicken tenders. They use the same batter for the chicken tenders as the fish and chips, which was a little strange to me. It is a little pricey for fast food, but with the coupon we had, almost $ 10.00 was knocked off the price. I would definitely go back for the salmon and maybe next time try something with the piri piri sauce.

Food was really good. The rice was nice and moist and the zucchini was AMAZING! The Salmon was ok I got it topped with mango salsa. The customer service was EXCELLENT. I liked how the cashier was wearing a shirt and tie instead of some grubby polo shirt. Will definitely come back!

Quality of the seafood is very good. Have tried the salmon and tilapia. Love the cucumber dill topping. The wife had the burger that was also very good. A bit higher priced than fast food processed fish but the quality is worth it. Need to go back soon to try the fish and chips. If you want good fish give it a try.

Good food. I think it’s a bit pricey but I can’t complain about the food. I heard the fish are mostly wild caught which is great! Will definition be a regular here and try everything on the menu

Excellent fish, very good chicken, moderately overpriced. Particularly recommend the red snapper and the chicken tenders.
