Rita’s

Disappointing — no other word for it. Tried a taste of the passion fruit gelato and it had more sweet to it than actual fruit flavor. Decided to give the coffee flavored custard a shot — again not as much flavor as just sweet. Frankly tasted about like plain vanilla. Didn’t care much for how much air was in the mix. Maybe it was the custard recipe, but it had an odd mouth feel — wasn’t even that cold.

Great Italian Ice here. They have a wide variety of flavors and custard too. I usually just get the Italian Ice by itself. They had a Red Sour Patch Flavor that is so good. Flavors do change. My hubby always gets the green apple flavor also tasty. Only bad thing is finding parking this small shopping center has so many stores and very few parking spaces. And on a busy Main Street so you can park on the street.

This Glendora location of Rita’s Italian Ice just opened in August 2015. I live about 5 minutes away and have been coming here twice a week. Yes I say here because I am writing a review from this locating right now. It’s that good. From the moment I walk in, I am greeted by the friendly staff. They are very knowledgeable and passionate about the company and it really shows. They encourage people to try all the flavors. I’m very impressed by how they make their Italian ice in-​house and often come up with new flavors. My favorite combination is the the blood orange and pineapple topped and bottomed with vanilla frozen custard. Recently the weather been super rainy, so Rita’s decided to do a rainy day BOGO deal! OMG now I wish it rains everyday!

This is exactly the kind of place you want to go for a sweet treat all the way around. Outside of the custard being fantastic and the Italian ice refreshing, it is the staff and the service that makes this place a must visit! I have been here twice and both times we were greeted with happy hello’s and genuine smiles. They encourage you to try as many samples as you want to be sure you like what you are getting.
It’s nice to have a place close to me that will make me smile when I think about going. It honestly beats the service and quality that I have experienced at the majority of dessert places in my area.

I came here around a month or two ago to get two gelatis, never had I had such an awkward customer service experience before. It was my first time at a ritas and I ordered two different flavored gelatis. But I changed my mind about one of them and asked the employee to change one of the gelati flavors. He got confused which is okay but it prolonged for almost five minutes of me trying to explain that I wanted strawberry instead of chocolate. A line piled up behind me and eventually everything was said and done. The gelati itself was very tasty! The reason why I’m giving three stars is because while I ate my gelati inside I heard the employee talking to another employee about me and getting obviously upset at me. Very awkward for me.

Limited flavor but loved Peach flavor and Pineapple Mango (could be Mango Pineapple) are my fav. Not too big on Orange. Too sweet…

Came here after lunch and got a pineapple Gelati. The soft serve on top was AMAZING. They have custard at the bottom which was a tad rich but still good. This place is a chain so the price is pretty standard for the size. If I came back to the area I would make a stop, although I feel they’ll find their way to NorCal soon enough.

Anyways to my review! When I went their was only one staff member at the time, but the place wasn’t super busy so it was fine. I don’t quite remember her name, but she was blonde and kind of on the tall side. Anyways she was very nice. Only complaint I guess I have is if you’ve never been to an Italian ice place you’d have no idea about how to order. There is more too it than just picking on flavor. I think they should explain it like most places. Anyways we got the root beer and Swedish fish. Both flavors were delicious :)
I noticed at the cashier they had icecream sandwhiches. I’ll definitely have to try It next time I come back.

First off, the staff is so nice. They’re extremely friendly, helpful, and fun! They offered us as many samples as we wanted, suggested their favorite flavors and combinations, and smiled and laughed with us the whole time. Perfect service!
The gelati I had was delicious as well. They can layer flavors for you, and helped me choose a good flavor. Gelati is custard, then Italian ice, then more custard. So good

Why does Italian Ice need to be served with custard? It’s a good combination, and Rita’s offers it, but I would think Rita’s wants to feature Italian Ice as the best. If we wanted custard, I would not think of going to Rita’s. Yeah I am over-​thinking it. But I over ate it (ice-​custard combination) at Rita’s, so at least I am consistent.

If you want a yummy treat to cool you down during these hot California days then look no further. So far each time I have tried a different Italian ice I have not been disappointed. Definitely give it a try!

First Visit: I Came Around 9PM. The Employees Were VERY Friendly More Than Happy To Let Me Try Each Flavor & Help Me Find The Right Tasty Treat For Me. I Ended Up With Several Fruity Island Ice Flavors (If Memory Serves Me Right It Was Island Fusion, Mango Pineapple, & Green Apple Ice) & Swirl (Vanilla & Chocolate). Lots Of Seating Available, & It Was Very Reasonably Priced. Definitely Returning Back.
Second Visit: I Returned With My Niece At 930PM (I Was Also On The Phone With My Sister Gettin Her Order). I Was Greeted By The Same Employee Who Said She Remembered Who I Was From My First Visit. To Save Both Our Time She Basically Had An Attitude From That Moment Forth. Her Boss Was Right There Working Right Beside Her & She Still Rolled Her Eyes & Huffed & Puffed The Entire Time I Order 4 Treats. I Feel Like If I’m Spending My Money With Your Establishment You Should Ensure Your Employees Are Having A Good Day Before They Interface With Customers Lol Oh Also I Chose Bad Gelati Flavors For Myself Just Tryna Hurry & Get Out Of There Cause I Felt Like I Bothering Her By Having Her Do Her Job (Help My Niece Taste The Flavors & Make The Gelati Instead She Rolled Her Eyes With Each Scoop Of Ice She Put In The Cup Lmao [Laughing Now But At First I Was Upset] … Nonetheless My Niece Enjoyed Her’s

ABSOLUTELY LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS PLACE. Rita’s Italian Ice has been on my list of «Must Try Places» for the longest time but I could never find the time to go since most of the other locations were quite a ways. I had just come from Sakae Sushi in Azusa when I pulled out and saw that there was a Rita’s Italian Ice across the street. At first I didn’t believe it since I live on the border of Glendora and Azusa and if you know, they’re a little on the boring side. I gasped immediately and thought «I need to try this place.»
In the Summer, you do everything you can to stay cool. Maybe grab some ice-​cream at Baskin Robbins or Cold Stone or maybe even a Big Gulp at ⁷⁄₁₁. But for such a perfect price and a perfect size, Rita’s is definitely the place to go. The décor is cute and goes perfect with what they are trying to sell. Not too busy in the day but I’m sure they get loads of customers in the evening.
When I walked in, a male worker immediately asked me and my sister if we’ve been here before and we reply «No.» For a while, we can’t make up our minds. We let a few other guests go before us as we stupidly question ourselves what we want. In my head I’m thinking «Ice-​cream and ice? Is that a good combination?» So finally giving up on what to order, I tell the worker «Just give me your best seller, please.» And he replies «The mango ice and vanilla Gelati.» My sister orders a Blendini with chocolate and coffee.
A little nervous to try, I start eating the vanilla first. Finally, I get down to business and mix both flavors and let me tell you, it was AMAZING. I usually never finish a whole ice-​cream on my own, but trying Rita’s, I wish I had gotten the bigger size. Came back the next day and the day after that. Really recommend this place!

Today was 102 degrees and I just got off class. I described to try Rita’s for the first time… Best decision ever!!! I got cookies and cream with vanilla custard omg Soooo good perfect for the heat! Also great service!!! Definitely going to be a regular.

All the YUM! I’ve had Rita’s a couple times on the East Coast and I’m so glad to see more and more locations popping up around Southern California.
Ice custard happiness is right! The gelati (a layer of ice between two layers of custard) is so good and I’m definitely going to try a blendini (custard blended with ice and a topping) the next time I’m there. The combo of ice and custard is delicious and the prices are reasonable.
Rita’s of Glendora is an inviting spot with friendly employees and really wonderful owners! Definitely go in and indulge in their delicious ice/​custard and warm customer service.

I’m so happy that a Rita’s has opened up by my house because the one in Monrovia is a little too far for me. I overheard that this place just opened Monday and it’s really nice and clean.
I ordered the mango pineapple gelati with vanilla custard but I got a large this time. My friend and I ordered the same thing but I got charged more than he did… Not sure why.
Anyways, the lady that rang me up was really nice and told me a little bit about the business. I’ll be coming back whenever I’m craving Rita’s!

OH MY GOD I AM SOOOOOO HAPPY THEY OPENED UP A PLACE IN GLENDORA. I tried the Blue Raspberry Gelati with Vanilla Custard and it was just as scrumptious as my first time trying Gelati. It was frosty kind of shaved ice topped with a Vanilla Ice Cream-​ish custard. Definitely one of my favorite dessert places.

In the midst of the Azusa summer heat, this place is a God send for the lactose intolerant as Italian ice has no dairy products! I had always visited the Rita’s in Redondo beach, but I am excited that this one is so close to home. They have a friendly staff and a good location.
