My friends and I made the 2+ hour drive from Portland on Saturday night to see Girlyman play at Eden Hall. I had no idea what to expect from a venue out on the coast and wondered who would come to see a relatively unknown but immensely talented queer folk band in such a remote area. I was pleasantly surprised! Eden Hall is a very classy upscale venue with great sound. There’s not really a bad seat in the house. We were in the front row and the sound was great there. The audience was not the band’s typical following. There were lots of older couples and a few parents & children which made for interesting Q&A with the band since many in the audience had never heard Girlyman’s music before. I would definitely make the drive from Portland again if there was someone playing who I really wanted to see. The staff were all also very nice and friendly. I was able to get a giant cup of coffee(for energy for the long drive home) for $ 1 too! What a bargain :) I hope that Eden Hall brings Girlyman and similar independent acts back in the future! Thank you for a great show/concert experience.
