I usually have a good experience here, but tonight it was just OK. The waitress was very disinterested, and we had to chase her down for everything. The buck a shock oysters were top notch. But, the fried oysters were extremely over breaded and not very flavorful. It was a party of six, with lots of appetizers and lots of drinks, so you would’ve thought she would’ve paid more attention to us. PS — parking was ample.

the steak here is horrendous. This is the second time that I ordered steak here and was completely dissatisfied. The meat is very low quality and chewy. They do have a very good sea bass and the oysters are great too. Stick with the sea food but please avoid the steak.

I like the ambiance here and the food is pretty decent. It’s not really my type of food– I prefer less meat heavy dishes but my husband was craving a steak so we went. Our server was great. I forget her name but she was nice and not too annoying or anything. Drinks were pretty good too.

At on time I loved this place… What happened? The food it is now horrible and ridiculously over priced… Will not be back.

An excellent evening with oysters on the half-shell and baked oysters with delicious white wine; finished with lemon cream cake. Our Server Reelika was very attentive. Hostess Megan is a Gem! Can’t wait to go back.

Dined here for the first time in years with a good friend as suggested by her husband, who was gracious enough to let me borrow her for the evening.(Thanks Joe!) VERY impressed with the décor… very cozy, yet upscale farmhouse type feel. Probably one of the most comfortable, warm and welcoming restaurants I’ve ever been in, actually. Lighting was perfectly dimmed. Good music playing at just the right volume for background music. We were greeted well as soon as we entered, and the staff all seemed nice. Drinks and food came out in perfect timing. Wonderful«buck a shuck» raw oysters, with a great selection of different types, each well described on the menu. I ordered the crab cakes and my friend ordered the salmon. We were both very pleased with our meals. Our waitress was very attentive and helpful. It was fairly quiet, but as expected for a weeknight, and gave us the opportunity to catch up. Because it was not full, we spent almost 4 hours just sitting and talking. They did not rush us at all. My ONLY complaint at all(and reason for 4 instead of 5 stars) would be that after paying the bill, including a generous 20% gratuity, we never saw our waitress again(only in passing as she served others, so it wasn’t like her shift was over) but never again did she stop by our table to see if we might like a refill on coffee or anything else. That would have been very much appreciated, since we continued to sit and talk for a good 45 minutes more. Very glad we chose here, and will definitely be returning in the future.

Went to Ludwigs this past weekend. Great Grille atmosphere. If it were a bit closer I’d be there much more often. Food was great. I had the crab bisque which was flavorful– but a little light on the crab meat. Wife had the clams which she said were very good. I also had a salad and the shrimp wrapped in bacon. It did not disappoint. Service was good.

We’ve come here a couple of times over the years since it is in convenient location when we’re meeting relatives. The ambiance is nice but some of the rooms can get a bit noisy. The service was efficient and the wait staff was friendly and helpful. The seasonal beer on tap list was great. I had a wedge salad and ahi tuna main course which I thought was very good. My family all enjoyed their choices. All in all a very good good restaurant.

I am in love with their seasonal Pumpkin Martini’s!!! They have a great Buck-A-Shuck and the guys doing the shucking are very careful, which I really appreciate. That said, I truly wish they would go way back to when Vinnie was cooking the fried Oysters… lightly flash fried in light coating of Panco ~ very delicate & delicious. Right now, it’s all about the breading and it’s drowning my delicate beloved oysters:(Let me know if you change it back

The food at this restaurant was excellent. I was very happy with the service and atmosphere. The only negative was that the table next to us seemed to be very«judge’y» considering we were coming from a horse show and still had our horse show garb on despite the fact that this restaurant’s attire requirements are casual. The restaurant has several different rooms, including one with a bar, as well as outdoor seating. Overall, I was very pleased and would highly recommend coming here. Another negative is that the food can be a bit pricey, but it is so good that it is worth it!

The environment is incredible, and the food is fantasist! Onion soup is a great starter, then anything else on the menu is a great add-on.

Went for a work dinner. For apps had oysters(buck a shuck night) which I do not eat and hummus which I do. The hummus was good but didn’t come with enough pita given the size of the hummus pile — however, they happily brought more. I had the fish tacos which were fine but I’m not a fan of the kimchi on the tacos, just didn’t seem to go together. Everyone else was pleased with their meals though so if I go back I’ll just try something else.

This only gets 2 stars because the food was great but our server *Relica*was awful and a total snob and in personable. A couple of people asked for a recommendation on beer and she had nothing to say(here’s a tip: even if you don’t drink beer, your job allows you to see what’s popular so wing it). She even visibly showed her annoyance and truly not at something that typically annoys servers. Again, rude and snobbish. I will go back here for the food but I’ll specifically request another server. She was so snooty. No thank you! Serving is not her thing. If not for her VERY rude behavior, I would have given them 5 stars I’m editing this the morning after my above review because I honestly did not read any reviews before posting mine but I see people echoing my comment about getting terrible service. I would put money on it that those who said their service was awful, in personable and such got the same server we did. I’m still talking about her rudeness to my fellow diner companions and it’s the morning after. it was that bad!

My husband and I come here a few times a year and always look forward to it. We get the same thing every time. A dirty martini, dozen blue points, crab bisque and the cold seafood salad. It’s Valentine’s Day so there’s a limited menu, but we also found that they have changed things up a bit. Apparently there’s a different chef since our last visit and with the new chef came a new menu and no cold seafood salad :(The oysters-we couldn’t choose the type, they did a mixture of east coast oysters-about half were good and half we would never order. At $ 27 we really wanted to like every oyster. We had the blue crab bisque, that was delicious. We ended up splitting the pan seared scallops with herbed butter and Gouda grits. The scallops were okay 2 of the 4 were over cooked. The herbed butter was like having drawn butter poured over the entrée – it was a little overwhelming and the whole dish was much saltier than it needed to be. Overall, it wasn’t bad, just okay.

I liked this place and really want to return. But the prices are so outrageous for what you get it just isn’t worth it. Example 4 medium shrimp wrapped in bacon for $ 14! Really?

I really wanted to love this place, it was so cute & quaint looking from the outside and when we first walked in. But unfortunately, I was a little underwhelmed overall. There were four of us for dinner, and when we made reservations, someone in our party requested a booth. Unfortunately, the booth was not overly large, so it was a just a bit cramped. If I were to go back, I would request a table instead. I was a little disappointed when I asked for seltzer or soda water and our waitress said they only had tonic. When I want seltzer or soda water, I am looking for unsweet, carbonated water. Tonic water has sweetner and other flavors. Blah. Maybe she doesn’t understand the difference. So, I then make the mistake of asking if they have anything like Prosecco. She just stopped and looked at me as if I had 2 heads, and then said no without even checking. Ok, whatever, I decide to go with a basic Sauvignon Blanc. No biggie. She brings out everyone else’s drinks except my wine, and keeps me waiting for an extended period of time before bringing it out. I am not liking the service at all by this point. But, thankfully, everyone’s starter comes out soon, so I dig into my salad. The salad was fresh and I enjoyed the white balsamic vinaigrette. When our entrees came out, everyone at the table seemed pleased with their meal except one person who had ordered crab cakes. From the looks of it, I wouldn’t have liked them either because they were slathered in some sort of icky looking sauce(the menu said red pepper remoulade but it was just plain gross looking!). The plate included 2 crab cakes for $ 28& was served with mashed potatoes, which apparently were not very fresh or tasty. My S.O. tasted the crab cake and the potatoes and said the crab cakes were ok, not great and the potatoes were just bad. I had ordered the sesame crusted tuna, rare, and it was properly prepared and served with miso rice.($ 22) My entrée was very delicious, and was just the right portion size. 2 people at our table ordered the lobster mac & cheese, including my S.O. This is something that can be easily messed up, so I am always afraid to order it. but I tasted a bite of his, and it was very good and a reasonable portion size for $ 25. I would definitely say the service was a max of 2 stars, but because my entrée and salad were good, my overall rating is up to 3 stars. However, having said that, if you go with no expectation of good service, you might have a fine time. And, also I think your enjoyment of the food may really depend on what you order. BTW, 3 of the people in my party that night have eaten at this restaurant extensively in the past, and they all agree that in general, the quality of food/menu and the service have definitely declined since their last visit, which was probably a year ago.

What a disappointment. I have driven past this restaurant for as long as I can remember, at least since the early 70s, but never had the time to stop. Tonight, I had the time. I ordered a glass of French wine from the Languedoc. When it arrived at the table, the waitress made a big show of pouring it into my wine glass from a small carafe. Just as she was handing it to me, another waitress came over, grabbed the wine out of the 1st waitress’s hand, and said, «This isn’t the right one.» Wine and waitresses both disappeared. When waitress #1 reappeared, it was with a glass of wine. No transfer ceremony :( So, onto the meal. I ordered fried oysters. A basket of bread and a dish of oil were placed on my table. The bread was reheated supermarket rolls :(They were okay, but not worth the carbs. The dipping oil had a nice pesto taste. When the waitress brought my oysters, they were attractively presented on a triangle of what looked like newsprint. Sadly, they were soggy. The oysters themselves had a good flavor but the breading/batter/whatever they were coated with fell off. The triangle of what I thought was newspaper didn’t absorb the juices(read grease) from the oysters, and they just got soggier and soggier. There was a side of fries. A perfect fry should be hand cut and twice fried. These weren’t. McDonalds has better fries. The server was adequate, but impersonal. It’s possible that a single woman in her mid-sixties is not the client they would like to have on a Friday night. Too bad. I can’t imagine that I will go back

They got a new chef here which also means new menu. The Lobster Bisque is still on the menu but it either has no lobster in it or they now purée it and for me… Well I rather have the chunks in it because that’s how I like it. The crab cakes are still good, but I prefer mine blackened which they will not do. I did have the fish and chips. Fish was excellent but the cole slaw has too much mayo for my liking. All in all, this place is still good, but pricey… Look at their menu online if you can and make sure they have things you will like I prefer the old menu.

For $ 145 per couple I expect more… Went on Wednesday for buck a shuck oyeters. This was the highlight of the meal. Great selection, we went through 3 dozen oysters and that was just for the two men at the table. I got the steamed clams app. They were ok, would have been better served with some nice crusty bread to dip into the broth! For dinner the men both got the tuna and the women both got the mediterranean seafood linguini. First for the tuna, one was brought out wayyyy over cooked, barely a hint of pink in the middle, and the piece was served cut in half so the chef saw that it was well done! The other one was brought out maybe medium, definitely not the rare they were supposed be served at… For the pasta, I felt like it lacked flavor, seafood was fine and plentiful, but the sauce seemed like it was just a plain tomato sauce cooked down. Advertised as San Marzano tomatoes, they definitely made it a sweet sauce, but it need something to zing it up, some crushed red pepper maybe. Even the kalamata olives and feta lacked any punch. When we got our bill I was very surprised at $ 242. We each had two drinks, I ordered Goose martini’s…at $ 12 a drink it should have been double the size of what I was given. I wouldn’t mind that price if served in a nice big martini glass, not the little one they used. And my second martini came out made with a house vodka, which I sent back… Bottom line, we will go back, in nice weather, sit on the deck or in the bar order up a ton of oysters, a couple of cold beers, finish up with a burger or something like that and enjoy that meal. Next time I want to spend $ 145 I’ll head toward the city… I have no complaints about the service, our waitress was very good and attentive…
