Visiting town, needed a quick bite so I figured pizza would be great. It’s good and huge slices. Staff was not very helpful or lively… But for what it is I enjoyed the couple slices and went in about my day. Still searching for a real Chicago pizza experience.

The pizza at this place is great. They get it very nice and crisp and it’s always chock full of flavor. On our stop in tonight, however, we waited forty five minutes for two pies because the girl who took our order never gave it to the cooks. I walked in and ordered and went back out to my car. Twenty minutes later I went back in to get them and the guy behind the counter told me that they hadn’t made them yet. I was a bit confused but what could I do. He said eight minutes and they’d be ready and he’d bring them out to the car. Fifteen minutes or so went by before I walked back in. They still weren’t ready. He said that he was sorry and offered me a Coke. He then said, «This doesn’t happen often, but when it does, it’s not good.» Now I wonder how often it happens. Great pizza but slow service tonight. Please work on that.

You would never know but this little pizza place has the best fried chicken in the burbs! I recently discovered when we had lunch brought in from Jakes. Their broasted fried chicken is so juicy and delicious! Perfectly done! This is coming from a girl that loves fried chicken. I drive to Honey butter and leghorn in the city for fried chicken. This chicken is right up there. Must try!

Customer for over thirty years at jakes. Pizza pretty much the same. Menu was confusing. The gourmet pizza listings are confusing. Pizza fairly priced. Delivery charge was over $ 6.00. Ridiculous. It was prompt but our charges were far too high for delivery average pizza. Could go to pizza restaurant and have some wine juice for kiddies and pizza for same amount. Besides we did see anything that classified our pizza as gourmet

Just moved to the area. Needing a quick fix, late in the evening for my little one. Stopped in just to get 1 slice of pizza — -gave me 2 for the price of one. Normally I wouldn’t partake this late, but it was a kind gesture. Fast &GREATCUSTOMERSERVICE!!! So needed the kindness during this«moving» time.

I go there mainly for slices. It’s cheap, ok-tasting pizza. If it wasn’t so close I wouldn’t go out of my way for it.

Really very basic slice of pizza. Not really hot or fresh or with much flavor… not the way Jakes used to be… hopefully they will read this and try to make better slices… the world has too many lame slices… people will eat about anything it seems

I GIVEUP ! This place lost my trust last year with coleslaw that was fit to be thrown out and rotting lettuce. Since they’ve re-opened, I’ve gone in twice for pizza slices(my trust for anything other than cheese pizza has long been lost), both times I burnt my mouth & tongue the worst I ever had. Same thing both times … first few bites tolerable, towards the middle too hot to keep pizza bite in mouth. I understand every place will drop the ball on a menu item, but pizza ?? That word is in your business name. I’m done with this place.

Placed order for 9 pizzas a day ahead for son’s party at local venue. Pizza was delivered half hour late; 15 min till party was over. No call; just excuses from new owner. Sad to say it was his wife who took the order the day before. Been 8yr loyal customer to prior owner. Not sure if coming back…

I grew up here in Glenview, and Jake’s pizza was a standard back then(a looong time ago, seriously…). Now that I’ve moved back, it’s nice to know that Jake’s is still around, pizza is still great, and remains one of my family’s favorites.

I have been eating Jake’s Pizza for over 30 years now, but just recently relocated. This is really thin crust pizza and was the same as I remember but there are a lot of great pizza places around now. Had some of their non pizza items and they were ok. Was inexpensive which is good when trying to feed the kids.

I still haven’t found what I’m looking for … a good suburban pizza place. Ordered pickup from Jake’s and had to wait a few minutes to pick up my pizzas so I wasn’t pleased with the wait. At least I got fresh pizzas when I picked ‘em up! I used one of the online coupons(mentioned by other Unilocalers) and did the large thin crust pizza and received a small cheese pan pizza for free. I paid about $ 17 with tax. I didn’t think it was as cheap as what others have alluded to. The 3 stars is for the pan pizza which is good for one person … kinda small for 2 people to share unless you have tummies the size of a marble. There was a good amount of cheese and the crust was nice and soft — it didn’t get hard as the pizza cooled. I didn’t think it was too much dough. However, I wonder if I liked it so much because I didn’t like the thin crust so much. I’d give 2 stars for the thin crust I ordered with mushrooms and spinach. The flavor was bland and large wasn’t that big for 2 hungry adults and 2 kiddies(under the ages of 3). There are a couple high tops to sit down if you order a slice and are on the run and they do accept credit cards.

Hmmh. I don’t want to be mean but I don’t want to bash when bashing isn’t necessary. There wasn’t anything that stood out about this place. The pizza was good, don’t get me wrong, but it wasn’t great. Their selection is extensive! I love the fact that there are so many options and many of them were amazing! DO not get a pan pizza, it is basically all bread and not that great. Thin crust is the way to go, delicious and crunchy without being too hard. My favorites are: Sausage and Peppers Florentine Gourmet– YUMMERS, those sausages are huge and the peppers are so good, they melt in your mouth. Western Gourmet Pizza is so good with the tangy sweet BBQ sauce. Give this place a try, it is very yummy buyt make sure you use a coupon otherwise it is over priced. :)

Service is whatever. The pizza is cheap though and it’s great for the pricing. The portions are large and cheesy :) It will be 2 bucks well spent. The ravioli is good too. Anyways, cheap and good pizza, open late. Stop expecting to be treated like royalty, its a friggin pizza place that sells $ 2 slices and canned drinks… Good enough for 4 stars.

Ordered beef and sausage combo sub. it was ok. I really want to like small places like this, but its my fault for ordering a sandwich instead of pizza. I think its a pretty decent place, they look like they really cook the pizza to be crispy, so its not a gooey pizza. I saw other peoples pizza, so you have to like that kind or its gonna be too«dry» for most people. I will give it another shot when i am there.

Awful customer service. This makes me so sad, as they are #1 on the calzone list! I called to order two taco salads and a broasted chicken dinner. I started listing the particulars on the taco salads and the guy said in a rude voice«Why don’t you just tell me how many taco salads and we’ll get to the details later.» Wow. So then I gave him the first set of details(no onion, no jalapeño, salsa and ranch on the side). Okay. I started to give him the second set and he interrupted me, saying, «We’re just going to make them both like that.» I was flabbergasted. And what showed up was not salsa; it was some weird, thin tomato sauce. And the broasted chicken dinner was a D+. I told my team that we are not ordering from them anymore. I cannot deal with this level of nastiness and incompetence. I MAY occasionally get their calzone on my own.
