Food is good not great. Our service was excellent even though it was a bartender who was working the bar and our table. The biggest negative — I ordered a gin and tonic and was informed that the CO2 was out on the tonic meaning it had no fizz to it. Okay, that happens. If you know this ahead of time — RUNTO A STOREANDBUY A FEWBOTTLES. The manager was just sitting in the bar doing nothing, he could’ve gone.

Party of Four, had dinner, fillet, white fish, grouper and liver. The bread first of all was warm and tasty. The offerings were as other Jameson’s locations — salad, soup and the meal, all of which were good. The service was slightly lacking, didn’t really feel our server was having the best day unfortunately. The service determines how you feel about your visit and I think the servers should understand that. The location is fine, Saturday night and pleasantly just enough of a crowd, so you could sit back and enjoy conversations without feeling rushed. The atmosphere of the restaurant was fine, only should have bigger washroom facilities for the amount of people that could be using them at one time.

Dirty, service slow, food below average. You are better off visiting the other location where even the broccoli tastes better.

Service below average. Food is ‘okay’. The place smells fishy from the front door right through to the back, which gives me the impression of unclean. Either the food is not fresh and/or the ventilation is not adequate. Steak over cooked and waitress gave me a hassle when I asked for one cooked as ordered. At those prices they need to get it right. Wait staff are slow moving and mostly not happy to be there — a feeling that is contagious throughout. The place needs a rehab. I would say an okay rating — wait staff needs to be fired and rehired very selectively. Nice menu but unpredictable quality from item to item.

We chose Jameson’s at the Glen to celebrate a birthday. The atmosphere, décor and food was excellent. Special mention must be made about our server Susana. She made it a special evening and I would certainly request her when I come there again. Susanna was sensitive to our timing and selections and has a special gift at understanding people’s personalities

Ask for Susanna! She’s amazing! So attentive. We went there for a birthday and Susanna was offering to take pictures was checking in on us. She did everything 100% right. So services, check! Food was great. We had the spinach artichoke deep. It was awesome! I had medium well steak and they cooked it to perfection! So food, check!

Came here for dinner for someone’s birthday. The server was Susana. She wasn’t pleasant but we had hoped there might be good food if we looked past her rude demeanor. Then the food came. We had two people order steak medium and both steaks came out well done with barely any pink. I had cedar plank salmon and the veggies and salmon were so overdone the salmon was crispy. The calf liver was so overdone it had a layer of black on the bottom. Then we tried to let it go but then before we were finished the server and bus boys tried to take our plates before we had finished. We let the server know this and she appeared to be defensive. Then gave a passive aggressive answer. So very condescending and rude. I don’t complain much but this warranted it. If you want good service don’t go here. If you want to spend a lot of money for overdone food go here.

My wife had been at Jameson’s a year or two ago, and she wanted to return there with me for New Year’s Eve. I complained that I had no discount deal nor coupons for this restaurant, but she really wanted to go there; so I mustered up enough courage and spare cash(by checking under our sofa cushions) to acquiesce to her ravenous hunger. She called them a few days in advance, and set an appointment for the amazingly early hour of 5 pm. Maybe she wanted to celebrate«Happy New Year» concurrently with the folks in western Europe. As we are walking in, and I am telling her that this is really an early time for NYE, I discover that the restaurant is already about half full. The receptionist finds our reservation and courteously escorts us to our table. After we sit down, I am quite surprised that the entire restaurant fills up within a half hour; so my wife(a.k.a. «Mrs B») was right on the button. Our waitress came to our table, gave us menus, and took our drink orders. Within a few minutes, she served us our drinky-winkies and we were ready to order our main entrees. She asked for a filet mignon, and I requested a shish kebab. One nice touch is that the entrees come with a soup, salad, vegetable, and rice or potatoes: most places charge extra for those items. Then, the waitress disappeared somewhere for about twenty minutes: I was becoming parched and I wanted something else to drink; so we did find a bus boy who refilled our glasses. I know they were very busy, but it is expected that servers occasionally check up on their diners: we tend to tip on the basis of the quality of services rendered. Jamieson’s in Glenview is a nice, moderately upscale restaurant. It is not romantic with subdued lighting and any specific ambiance; but it is several notches above an everyday dinnerhouse restaurant. It is a tad noisy, but we were there when every table was occupied, so the atmosphere may differ from a regular weekday. We were served by our waitress who returned from her parallel universe, and we had to ask her to once again refill our beverages. The presentation was nice, the food was good, although not extraordinary; and I felt pleasantly satisfied with our experience. My wife thought that her steak was exactly the way she wanted it done, and I had no issues with my kebab. I was not completely satisfied with the service, since I had to keep reminding our waitress to bring us stuff that any server should attend to. I left an 18% tip, although the service was not really up to snuff: I figured that this was a very busy night, and the servers were probably working at their peak capacity, so I did not complain — but I probably should have. As we left at about 6 pm, there was a line of people from the front door leading to the receptionist stand waiting to check in for dinner; so I now understand why my wife set up a reservation at such an early hour. You will note that I have assigned this restaurant four stars; but I really wanted to rate it as 3.5 stars due to service issues. I noticed that other Unilocalers have also cited issues with service consistency. I have to concur with them, and Jameson’s management should make an effort to get this matter resolved.

So glad we decided to give this place a try for our Christmas dinner last night! Andy, the manager, was very accommodating about the short notice for a reservation… unlike a couple other restaurants we called. The meal was delicious(Filet & T-bone highly recommended) and our server, Dominic, could not have been nicer. We look forward to our next visit back and thank them for a wonderful holiday experience! My co-workers and I visited this restaurant for lunch. Once we entered we were immediately seated. However after being seated for 20 minutes someone finally came over and took our drink orders. Another 5 minutes pass and finally we have water. We place our order and seeing that the place only had three other occupied tables assumed being lunch we would have our food relatively quickly. Completely wrong! People came in after is and received food before we even got checked on by the waiter. After being there forever we finally got our food which wasn’t bad but no apology from management for the fact we’d been waiting now for almost 2 hours. Service alone will keep me from ever coming back to this establishment. Save yourself some time and go across the street to Bravo where the food is amazing and the staff are attentive to their customers.

I Love coming here! The price is worth it and it includes a full course meal. You definitely leave satisfied. The service is wonderful as well.

Decided to return to celebrate my 65th birthday for lunch with my two best friends. The restaurant was virtually empty, so you would think the food and service would be top-notch. First, our server was not familiar with the menu… could not answer basic questions about the entrees or salads. Second, he was not there to refill ice tea, water or coffee… had to hunt down the manager to do the latter. And most importantly, the food… it was NOT good. I was not very hungry and opted for the grilled shrimp appetizer… at $ 12.95 for(8) shrimp, I expected excellence, and, instead, experienced, small dried out, rubbery shrimp, barely edible. Will NOT be back for lunch and that is truth.

So, I went with my dad, and we were expecting a nice place with good steak. Unfortunately, that’s not what we exactly got. First of all, the table we were seated at had wood that was not finished and not polished. We were given two salad forks instead of a salad and steak fork. Next, when the salad came out, you could clearly pick it apart and see that it was not fresh. Upon complaining, we did get a better plate of salad, but clearly, they kept it in the water too long, resulting in extremely watery salad. We ordered oysters and did not receive them and had to cancel the order It seems like though, that they were trying hard to compensate on the steak once we complained. The chefs, in an attempt to get our steaks perfect, over did my steak from a medium rare to medium and my dad’s steak from medium to medium well. When I sent to the bathroom, the toilets were not functioning. They were bowel movements in automatic toliets. Overall, I would probably not come to this resturant again.

For a steak house they over cooked a simple medium rear on a NY strip steak to well done. Than they re cooked my dinner and the steak was the right doneness but it wasn’t seasoned and the worst cut of meat for an aged steak. Tough and chewy hard to eat. Oh yeah my vegetable they served was a huge pice of broccoli which I need my steak knife to cut. Come on!

As excited as I was to eat… appetite drifted away on account of poor service. We came for dinner on a Sunday night around 6:30pm. Made reservations via Open Table and specifically requested outside seating for 4. We were greeted immediately with the sub par standard«how many?» After my wife explained we had a reservation, nobody bothered to check the notes so we had to reiterate that we wanted outside seating. On to the server… the breakdown was as follows: 1) 4 waters with lemon took about 10 minutes.(another 5 for straws) 2) Ordering our food followed about 5 minutes later 3) Soups which were supposed to come before our meal, were brought out 25 minutes after ordering when I specifically asked if they were still working on the soups. Of course they were brought out 2 minutes later which we all know means that the soups were just sitting there. 4) Au gratin potatoes, the side with my overcooked medium steak, came about 8 minutes AFTER everybody’s food. Overall, poor experience. Nice patio seating, more than likely wouldn’t come back unless I had to.

We have been to several Jameson’s and to this location 3 times, and I have now decided that it is just not as good as Arlington Heights or Skokie. The food is not as good, and for certain that issue is in the kitchen. The service is not as good, and that certainly feels to be a problem with management. I took Missy in for dinner, and we sat in the bar area to watch a game. She ordered a rib eye, which came out the right temperature, but grey and unseasoned. I had BBQ chicken and ribs, and it was just dried out, over cooked meat, all hidden in a dumping of sauce. The only plus to the meal was the Oysters Rockefeller, which was outstanding. My suggestion is, whoever runs the Arlington Heights location should come and shape up the one at the Glen. I would rather to to Jameson’s at AH, than I would a Wildfire. But Jameson’s at the Glen, I think Outback might be a better choice.

Just an OK place. My husband and i stopped in for Steaks after not being able to get a table at Wildfire. I should have known this place wouldnt be great after just being able to walk in on a Friday night. We both had the NY strip steak. They were just OK. Mine was actually a little fatty. Although it was cooked perfectly, the parmesan crust i opted for didnt taste right. i ended up scraping it off. I had the french onion soup as well. I wouldnt have it again. The cheese didnt taste right and instead of the normal soft bread that tops it, there were hard pieces of bread in it(day old bread maybe). I also found THREE bay leaves in my one bowl of soup. THREE! Arent they supposed to take those out? I ordered a midori martini that was soo strong I had to order a ginger ale to dilute it with. Im giving 2 stars because our waitress was really nice, the ease of getting a table(which may or may not be a good thing), and the fact that after i scraped off the parmesan crust from my steak, it was just OK. Im being generous here.

Jameson’s has an incredible friendly atmosphere and very comfortable setting. The smell of BBQ is incredible. As for the food– we got a lot of sides with our entrée. We got soup, salad, & a side of choice with it. The baby back ribs were great and had an awesome sauce. The sweet mashed potatoes were a bit strange– very liquidy. Other than that the meal was great and would go there again!

This is a pretty decent spot. I really didn’t think it was anything amazing but it wasn’t the worst. The mashed sweet potatoes are pretty gross, i think they add honey or something. The steaks are pretty decent. The soup we had was fantastic. My filet and shrimp was pretty decent but not amazing. Its not crazy over priced but it is slightly. The service was good. The scotch prices are ridiculous. We came here for New Year’s eve and they were packed earlier but we opted for a later dinner time and was not overly inhabited. I’d debate returning but i’m in no hurry.

We had a very young, new waiter. He was a bit overwhelmed and quite slow. It took at least 10 minutes for him to come out and greet us and then order taking was very slow. In the past we have had numerous experiences where the service was way, way too fast — food brought out before one was done with the prior course. This was the pendulum swinging to the other extreme. We had to ask for the bread when the salads came out and he came back saying all the bread boards were being washed so he brought it on a plate. Weird to wash all the bread boards while customers are in the restaurant. Guess that is what happens on a slow Sunday. Food was good as always. Fried calamari were a bit too large and slightly rubbery. Looks like they changed sources of calamari as they used to be smaller rings and more tender. Mediterranean sea bass had a well balanced mixture of artichoke hearts, olives, tomatoes and onions. Grilled salmon was fresh and perfectly cooked. The rib eye was well charred and flavorful. The wild rice pilaf was very good with a noticeable addition of sauteed peppers and onions usually missing in other rice pilaf dishes. Grilled asparagus were still green but tender. We sat outside on the east side of the building behind the large hedge row of bushes cutting us off from Patriot Dr. Try that outdoor spot as it feels quite cozy and much nicer than the underground like outdoor space they have west of the front door. That area seems like a cave. We split a piece of carrot cake which was creamy with a nice spice blend of cinnamon and nutmeg and creamy cream cheese frosting. We asked for it warm and it was brought out on a cold plate and the cake itself was not warm but it was not cold either. Could have used a few more seconds in the microwave. All in all we still really like the food here and now that we have experienced the outdoor dining to the east we will sit there again in warm weather. It is much nicer than the dining room for ambiance.
