Oh wow is this food fresh and so good! I love the pork over rice! I love the salt and pepper chicken bites! What a great takeout!

Not just dumplings, but a wonderful mix of Asian foods from tasty fresh pork buns to the best Tom Yum soup, and a big variety of dumplings to suit states from authentic(pork and shrimp) to American pub style(buffalo chicken). Vivian makes it all fresh and wicked delicious. Call ahead to avoid a wait. And remember it’s take-out only, so plan accordingly.

Pork bun is my new«Go to»! It sounds weird, but the flavors, combination of ingredients and textures are fantastic!

I am completely biased to dumplings as they are my favorite food so to say this is the best spot in Gloucester may be a bit one sided, but I can tell you that this place is a nice change of pace from all the other spots in Gloucester. There is nothing else like it and it provides great food to the community. The food is fresh and delicious and the prices are great too. It’s take out only so don’t expect to dine in, but call ahead and get your grub in. You won’t regret it.

The sticky rice did not disappoint. I got the fried taco dumplings, fried pork chop plate with the sticky rice. I have to stay i devoured the whole thing before i got to take a picture. I probably need to try the other dumplings because this reminded a lot of a Jamaican beef patty. Not that I’m saying it isn’t good its just not what i should be getting when ordering Asian fusion food. The sticky was very very sticky and had good flavor. They gave about 16 Oz of it so it was definitely a good Mount. Pork Chop was not too crunchy and had good amount of meat on it. I recommend this place. Kind of a pain they don’t open on Sundays or Mondays though.

I have never had a bad meal here! I started going here when I got a bit tired of other take out options in the area and am so glad I tried it! The menu offers a great variety that everyone can always find something they want. My go to is the buffalo chicken dumplings, but love everything I have tried. Also love the banana and Nutella spring roll for a sweet treat! Have not tried out delivery service, but food is always ready and hot when picking it up for take out.

Nice little take out restaurant! This place has one of the best pork chop and fried chicken nuggets that I’ve had in great Boston area! And the dumplings are so yummy and a good size too! Definitely NOT the greasy and salty Asian food you’ve had elsewhere. I love how they keep the health in mind by providing lots veggies as side. It took about 10 minutes to get our food ready, which is nice as you can be assure that the food is freshly prepared in front of you.

Excellent and genuine Asian food. Much better than those dirty and greasy chinese take out places. From the outside this hidden gem looks like a hole in the wall but the food is pretty good. You can’t get much better than this on North Shore Massachusetts. The fried pork chop, chive noodle, beef noodle and the white bun stuff is really good.

Absolutely loved it! Fresh and made by hand in front of you so you know the quality is there. First time I went all I got was soup because I had just started feeling a bit under the weather and for soup somebody recommended The Happy Dumpling. I got the Beef and Dumpling soup and when I got back and opened it I was slapped in the face by the smell of seasonings I haven’t smelled since I was in Taiwan for work, completely authentic! The soup made me feel so much better, since then I have tried a few authentic dumplings cooked different ways and even the deep fried Beef taco Dumplings(as I start to drool a little just thinking of them). I will be making that a regular rotation in my take out when working in Gloucester, Heck, I might even have to stop down if I am anywhere within a Half hour drive from there!!!

I am so happy we finally got around to trying this place, you guys. ITISSOGOOD. It actually tastes like food, it’s super fresh and all made in house. And they deliver, thank god. It’s such a change to have Asian delivery food that isn’t previously frozen, deep fried, and covered in thick brown sludge. The only downside is that the only place to find their menu online seems to be a photo on their Facebook page, but I’ll solve the issue once I remeber to actually get there and grab a hard copy. I would write a longer review, but I can’t concentrate right now, my food is on the way and I’m getting distracted by the thought.

Can’t say enough good stuff about this place. Food is made right in front of you in a super clean open kitchen, the staff is super friendly and most of all the food is DELICIOUS! Don’t be fooled by the name, they do way more than dumplings. Soups, crab Rangoon, all made fresh. It’s not the typical Chinese food either. The chicken fingers were small little bites of crispy coated chicken that didn’t feel greasy or heavy like usual Chinese. This is a take out only place, no seating but if you’re driving by on your way home from work or a day at the beach this is where to stop on the way.

Spicy beef ramen. Not very spicy until you get to the bottom. And then holy hell. Look out. But tasty!!! I have only had the fried pork and cabbage dumplings so far, but they were nearly perfect. Nice and crunchy on the outside– piping hot and a little bit chewy on the inside. At first I was skeptical, because the storefront looks a little bit sketchy and they don’t have a website, but really who cares? Get food here. You won’t be disappointed!!!

Clean, good and healthy is how I would describe my food from the Happy Dumpling. I’m always amazed at the number and variety of restaurants and take-out in Gloucester and this was a nice surprise. I ordered a curry soup with shrimp and ramen noodles. It was cooked right in front of me in the open kitchen(which is really clean). There are a variety of soups including red and yellow curry, various protein to throw in and a choice of noodles to add for another one dollar. The veggies were super fresh. The meal came to about $ 9.

This place is delicious! It’s the real deal and so tasty. Very fresh and not greasy at all. We pick up take out when there is a game on and it’s become our good luck ritual. The owner is very nice and welcoming and the place is very clean.

Maybe it isn’t fair to write a review based on one day, one dish, but it was delightful. I was hungry for a little something after serving up canned beef stew at a day shelter and I swerved to the curb when I saw the«Happy Dumplings» sign. I ordered the pork buns, thinking it is good to order a tried-and-true to compare to Chinatown stand-bys. What a difference! Circles of pure white dough are perfectly steamed but dry to the touch. How do they do that? The circles are folded in half, like chubby little tacos, and filled with falling apart chunks of braised pork, lightly seasoned, perhaps with 5 spice. Nothing like the sweet reddish pork paste I was expecting. The pork sits on a little pile of fresh lettuce, and is garnished with fresh cilantro, bean sprouts, and a sprinkling of crushed peanuts mixed with sugar. Based on this«happy» experience, I will definitely go back with a friend or 2 and explore further. Seating is limited – 2 card-table size tables and a few chairs – drinks are from a reach-in cooler but they do have a canned Thai tea and a clear Japanese tea beverage alongside the Coke and Orange Crush.

I am one happy dumpling after eating here. Everything we ordered was delicious. Had taco, buffalo chicken, and pork and cabbage dumplings. Each one was unique and came with its own dipping sauce. Pork buns were great as well. Will stop here next time we are in the area.

I had driven past this place a bunch of times and was not really interested in just another Chinese restaurant opening up. Then one day in the mid summer one of my co-workers brought some of their dumplings back to the office for lunch. Now I have ordered take out from Happy Dumplings a number of times and it has been delicious every time. I have traveled through Asia several times and I always look forward to eating dumplings while I am over there. I had not found any dumplings in America that were any good until now. WOW, these are terrific! Fresh and handmade, not frozen or pre-made like most places in this country. My favorite things so far are the steamed pork and cabbage dumplings, the pan fried chicken and corn dumplings and the steamed pork buns are all a must! I am starting to get hungry thinking about them. I also liked the wonton soup, the cheese-steak egg rolls and the Taiwanese salt and pepper chicken fingers. I started out ordering the take out for lunch, but now I also get orders to take home for dinner. My girlfriend loves their scallion pancakes and their fried tofu. The price is right as well. Most things on the menu are about $ 5 to $ 6 As you might be able to tell, it is my favorite new take-out place, and by the way I have been told it is not Chinese, it is Taiwanese. Go check it out…

Went there on a whim tonight after striking out at a few other local restaurants. We were a little nervous after seeing that it was empty. Boy were we happy we stopped! Food was solid. We had the chicken and corn dumplings along with the taco egg rolls, Vietnamese rice, and steamed buns. Everything was hot and delicious. Will definitely go back.
