I really don’t like writing bad reviews because I love supporting local businesses but I have gotten food poisoning here twice and don’t want anyone else to suffer :/

Well, this place is really kind of hit or miss. I mainly get the beef and chicken tacos, and the taquitos. Sometimes the food is great, and sometimes it is burnt and VERY greasy. Oh, and the guacamole is VERY inconsistent. Sometimes it is nice and fresh, and tasty, other times it is thin, watery and tasteless. I only come here maybe twice a month and thats it. So, honestly, I just tell you to try this place at your own risk, flip a coin and just hope you get good food.

Worst Customer Service EVAR!!!(3÷7÷15) I love the Adelberto’s on Madison Blvd. I was looking forward towards going to this one, but the customer service was the worst I’ve had in years. I went with a couple friends and she gave them the wrong change back. When he told her, she threw a couple dollars at him from the tip jar. Throwing money. really?! WTF. Then, I ordered super nachos, but was given a super burrito. When I told the lady the order was wrong, she got an attitude and told me I ordered the burrito! Now I understand people have bad days, but this c*** was off the hook! Hope she gets fired; then my friends and I will come back. Until then, I’ll have to commute to the one on Madison. unless I have to take a shit. Then I might stop by to smash it on their ceiling! *evil laugh*. yeah… THAT bad!

Got take out from here last night. First time so I got the super chicken nachos. For 8 bucks it’s a lot of food. Good flavor. Chips were light and crispy. I really enjoyed my meal and I’ll be back again to try some other stuff. Fast and clean all the things you hope a place to be.

I can’t comment on the carne asada fries or burritos which I hear are the best. But being someone who is always trying to customize something to make it a healthier choice, try this: the Chicken Salad(the one that doesn’t come in a deep friend tortilla bowl) w/no cheese, no sour cream and no chips. Get the dressing on the side and mix it with a bunch of pico de gallo. It comes with plenty of stewed chicken to fill your tummy as well as lettuce, tomato and fresh avocado. That’s my go-to salad when I’m super hungry but trying to make a better choice because it’s huge and so filling. Also, this particular Adalberto’s is super clean and the flowers outside the door are very inviting. The customer service is also great.

I’ve been eating here for 15 years(it use to be across the parking lot) the food just gets better and better each year! There’s a lot of pride in ownership here, the place looks great! Tip — get the pollo asado burrito(big chucks of chicken with sour cream, Lettuce, salsa) great salsa bar also. I love this place.

I go there for the Super Nachos. Period. Best late night snack around. The place is open 24 hours so you can get it when you want. They have a huge menu but I’ve never managed to get past the Super Nachos.

Just had the worst tostado of any«Beto’s» I have ever visited! The picture I took(in the gallery) shows a piece of metal in the lettuce. Having worked in restaurants in the past, I recognized it as part of a metal scrubber. Ick! The beans were tasteless and the rice was gummy. Too bad, as I have always counted on this restaurant type to be good, fast and yummy.

When you got the munchies and want a late night snack, this is the spot. Gotta go with the carne asada fries if you’re really hungry. The carne asada burrito is always spot on without all the filler(beans and veggies), just meat and guacamole. The tortas are pretty good as well. I didn’t really care for the enchiladas though the tacos are pretty tasty. The price is just right too.

Adalbertos is great for a fast food restaurant. I ordered a single carne asada taco and a side of beans which was less than 5 dollars americano. It doesn’t hold the authenticity of a Tijuana street taco slinger but probably carries less risk of parasitic infection. I opted for the solo carne asada taco with a side of beans for less than 5 dollars. The taco comes with a huge portion of well seasoned carne asada topped with pico de gallo and guacamole. I like that it comes with double layer corn tortilla, which I split and spawn a twin taco from with the extra tortilla. With the addition of the free chips and salsa bar you’ve scored a full mexican meal for under 5 bones. I highly enjoy the salsa verde and the pickled jalepenos. All in all a 3.5 and worth the stop. Oh, and the California burrito is HUGE and delicious.

3 stars is about right… First time we came here… Seemed liked going to a fancier taco bell… The service was quick. food was hot… The guacamole was solid… I might go back…

While I would never say that Adelberto’s(the chain or this partcular location) represents the best dining experience I have ever had, I am, thus far, rather satisfied which what I get here. I currently visit this location at least once a week, which is not something I can say about any other place or chain with the exception of Starbucks. My favorite thing to to get is the chile relleno burrito, but I’ll mix it up once in a while with beef or machaca. I didn’t care for the chicken the one time I had it, the shrimps were gritty the one time I had them, and I find the carne asada/steak quite salty. I would like to try some of the other items but I love those other three so much I never get around to it. They let you have as much chips as you want, offering both paper boats and small brown paper bags for takeaway; and their salsa cups are ample and come with lids if you want to take them to go. When I go through the drive though they always throw in mini-cups of either red or green salsa — I think which one depends on what you order, makes me think of different wines going with different foods. I have been to two other Adelberto’s locations and neither has the chile relleno burritos, so I never go there anymore. Their drive through is also open 24 hours, which has made me happy on many occasions. :) I have friends who refuse to eat at any Adelberto’s, claiming bad experiences with the chain in the past; but until they disappoint me personally I will continue to go.

Rarely is there a restaurant so vile that it deserves a one star… Adalberto’s is a Sacramento stable that most high school students go to because it’s hard to find something that will fill you up for 4 $. I have always tolerated their dirty kitchens and unreliable service as far as I can remember but it was never for the quality or quantity of the food but purely for the price itself. Now that I’m older that just doesn’t seem to be enough to keep going here. Especially with the recent economic situation many other places have been offering cheaper deals for much cleaner and more consistently good food. I’ve seen a burrito from Adalberto’s fluctuate in weight up to 40%… Recently I have been witness to the dirtiest look I have ever received in my entire life from an Adalberto’s employee for using an extra wrapping paper to take my half eaten burrito home. I can understand a micro business not wanting more expenses but there is never a need for attitude. I called her out on it but she just continued to ignore me with a scowl on her face. From now I won’t be going to an Adalberto’s ever again. I’d rather eat AMPM microwave burritos than contribute in any way to that person’s income. Also disregarding the bad experience. Their guac is mostly tomato so they won’t have to use too many avocados. Their salsa bar is the worst I’ve seen yet with week old tomatoes and watery less than mild sauce as the spiciest option. Their chips are often stale and quite frankly they should just get rid of the entire salsa bar as it represents a health hazard.

Adalberto’s is about as authentic as Jimboy’s when it comes to Mexican cuisine. If you can’t detect my profuse cynicism, then clearly you haven’t sampled the suspect fare that this place has to offer. I can, and do, revere hole-in-the-wall taquerias, don’t get me wrong; but I revere them for their formula, which Adalberto’s strays far from to pander to the dullest of palletes: ketchup is in the condiment lineup, the spiciest salsa available is mild at best, and whole beans are not an option, leaving you with the lard-y canned alternative. Also, I’m fairly certain the California Burrito is not intended for human consumption: oil-deluged grizzly«carne» hash, sweaty cheddar cheese shreds and flimsy french fry niblits wrapped in an unintentionally crisp white flour tortilla. The only thing«Californian» about this coronary-friendly concoction is its subscription to by Sac-area booze hounds looking to quell the ethanol fire. Adalberto’s, though, does deserve to be spared from one-star snubbery because with ingenuity and resolve, I was able to craft a semi-decent burrito by omitting the rice and beans and stuffing the«shell» with lettuce, pico de gallo, guac, shrimp & cheese.

This is the bomb spot after a night of drinking! I mean, who isn’t ready for a huge plate of Carne Asada Fries after a few cocktails. After wards you will slip into a blissful sleep from a full stomach. You may want to hit the gym the next morning because this is no health food joint. The drive thru is open 24 hours and the food is served FAT!

found on the same side of the road as IHOP, all my heart goes for is C.A.S.F. «carne asada… yada yada yada» thats all i ever really want from here now. feeds 2 people. i come here when i need to really grub. like post-workout grub. i’m not trying to be the healthiest guy out there. i still want to enjoy great food. and this is great mexicali style food! open 24 hrs. they really have something for everyone’s tastes. the menu is ridiculously huge and i won’t waste the space to write out what i haven’t tried. if i can’t decide, i go with the fries. simple. throw in some of the marinated carrots on the side and at least 3 cups of Pico de gallo… supergood eats. peace ya’ll

Came in during lunch and had the Carne Asada Fries. I ideally get the shrimp burrito but got the fries to take a Unilocal pic. So since I started this review I have gone here many times again. And I did get the Shrimp burrito. Man that thing is HUGE, priced well and very satisfying. I would suggest both the Carne Asada Fries and the Shrimp burrito. Don’t forget your chips and salsa when you dine in.

Been to this place quite a few times and it was always a rating of 3 in my book. Decent but not awesome. But after visiting on Saturday night I have to tell you what happened because I am still not happy about it.(disclaimer — stop reading now if you dont want some semi horrible visuals, you have been warned) I was drinking some beer while watching the Colts-Ravens game Saturday night. The game started at 5:30 so by time the game was over it was 8:30−9. Waited for my gf to come over because she hadn’t eaten dinner just like me. Asked her where she wanted to go and it was a coin flip between Taco Bell and Adelbertos. I wish Taco Bell would of won. So we went to Adalbertos and started eating around 10pm. I ordered Super Nachos with Steak. Seems harmless enough, doesnt it? Woke up the next morning with a bloated stomach and some indigestion. I thought to myself, «no big deal, it will go away». I sat down Sunday morning to watch my beloved Cowboys play their playoff game but as the game went along my stomach got worse and worse. I never ate anything that morning. I couldnt. After the Cowboys got their royal ass’s beat down my stomach was feeling horrible. By 2pm I finally gave in(I should of gave in earlier but the Cowboys were on!) and my face was firmly planted in the toilet. For basically the next 24 hours either my ass or my face was on/in the toilet with some horrifically violent junk coming out of me. The second day I was feeling a whole bunch better, BUT I can promise you this I will never go back to this Adalbertos or any of their other chains again.
