Best wings ever!!! Live band on patio which was packed so we ate inside which had plenty of room to sit and eat. Service was great!!! Craving their wings already!!! And I just ate a couple hours ago!

My NYC to Littleton, CO transplant bud and I had a great time at this Golden, CO gem. John on the Rocks(«he may be Jack to you son, but when you’ve known him as long as I have… [Lt. Col. Slade, Scent of A Woman]) for only $ 5.50! Beer flowed like water and the one local band before the band Loudness went on stage was amazing. We swung by on a rainy Tuesday evening to catch Japan’s hard-rock band Loudness for no other reason than we had little else to do. Akira Takasaki on guitar playing a plethora of notes on a custom guitar and Marshall amps – just like in the old days. But unlike the old days, the venue was smaller the amps were fewer and in the case of the bassist, the hair was non-existent. However, the music was still amazing, the sound-system was excellent and the band played their hearts out. One would have thought they were playing in front of 200,000. So if you happen to be in Golden swing by Buffalo Rose Saloon or if Loudness happens to be in your town do yourself a favor a catch the show. Either way you’ll be glad you did.

Worst. Restaurant. Ever! Will never come back or recommend to anyone visiting! Found this through a AAA book, what a terrible place to even waste your time at! Service was absolutely HORRENDOUS! All the food came out at different times, the simple burger orders were all wrong, and every single thing took at least 45 minutes to get. Stay away! There are many other places in this area worth checking out before wasting your time here!

We didn’t realize this place was a biker bar until we were getting settled in on the patio. So I realize my error in hindsight. But still, this place is not equipped for little children. Broken and dangerous high chairs, broken glass out on the patio, very smoky, and extremely loud motorcycle noises. My mom cut herself on the bathroom door. Waitstaff is very unorganized and made some major screwups with our food, but I will say they were friendly. The manager was exceptional in her customer service skills though, which is why I’m giving this place two stars instead of one. The food was good. This would be a good place to go have a burger and a few drinks. But leave the kids at home.

The best bartender here by far is Tash! It’s always a delight to see when she’s working. Tash has an awesome personality that makes people want to stick around once they’re here. We know that when she’s on that the service is going to be quick!

We went here for happy hour and the service/food was absolutely terrible. Granted, we went during the mile high block party so they probably weren’t prepared for the mass amounts of people to show up but the food quality was not good. My friends and I felt pretty nauseous from the amount of grease that was pumped into their food. We ordered the sliders, hog wings, nachos and the half pound burger. The sliders had one patty and a sad slice of pickle– that was it. No ketchup, no mayo, nothing but a fat greasy hand print on the bun.(Posted pic) The hog wings were just jerky covered in bbq sauce. The burger was similar to the sliders but actually had some veggies on the side. The nacho chips were all stale. Our table got checked on once– a minute after happy hour ended so we weren’t able to order more drinks. We would have hailed over our server except she was no where to be seen! Like I said, we went when there was a block party so there is a small chance that the food and service may be reasonable any other day of the week. Except. I highly doubt it.

Not sure what all the 1-star people were expecting. This bar, to me, is a very«you get what you see» sort of place. It is dark, country, and definitely a dive bar. This is obvious within about 3 seconds of entering the place. We ordered a simple burger, some freedom fries(love that they still call them that!), and some Coor’s. When the burger first came I wasn’t too thrilled by its appearance but OHMYGODTHETASTEWASAMAZING. Someone in the kitchen clearly was on their A-game. If you want linen table clothes, a few IPAs, and a Kale & Quinoa salad, this is not your place. If you want a country dive with some history, enjoy!

Visiting from Maui and we can’t get rocky Mountain oysters or buffalo burgers on island. Both were great and we LOVED the onion rings. We will definitely come back. Our waitress Wendy, was great. We were on the patio, in the rain, and she was dodging raindrops to bring us beer(very important) and dry, hot food. Many mahalos!

Hanging out at this place proves that there is someone out there for everyone. Lol. A must stop biker bar in golden that happens to be the oldest bar in the state. Live music in back patio, typical bar food and great people watching. Your sure to be entertained coming here just by listening to other people’s conversations. Don’t come here in your Sunday best! You will not fit in!

I rarely give 5 stars, but this place deserves it, and heres why: The burger is amazing. I ordered(and not the first time) a cheese burger(medium), with jalapeños and buffalo wing sauce on the side. The meat was seasoned and cooked perfectly medium. The high quality cheddar was melted on top of the meat and was nice and gooey. The jalapeños were raw, the only way to eat them, some places don’t do raw. The bun was sturdy and chewy yet soft and delicious. This burger is perfect. The ranch dressing tastes home made, not like that bottled hidden valley crap. Plus a decent selection of ice cold beers on tap to go with your burger. I drive all the way from denver just for a beer and burger here. They really do it right, no frills, and no inferior ingredients. My go to burger and beer joint even though I Don’t even live in Golden! Not to mention the ambiance and wait staff are great. Love the décor and comfortable vibes. Good tunes.

Was driving south of Boulder and ran into Golden. Cool little town, but this saloon is pretty awesome. Happy Hour starts at three and I grabbed a couple of beers with an appetizer. Service is on point and atmosphere is great!

Worst place I have ever eaten. Service was horrible. Took 45 minutes to get our food and they brought the wrong meals. Then we had to wait for the right meals and when they arrived the sandwichs were made wrong and fries were cold. No one offered to comp any of the food or drinks. Will never go back. Didn’t bring napkins either.

We came here for a bite to eat on a whim. I ordered the carnitas tacos, and my fiancée got the buffalo burger cooked medium rare. Both entrees were very tasty, the buffalo burger was cooked just right(it’s super easy to overcook buffalo). Their fries were very good as well; crispy and not too greasy. The only food that was not excellent was the french onion soup. It wasn’t bad, but it was a bit to salty for me. Our server was very friendly and attentive. We hadn’t dined here in quite a while, but after this experience, I will consider it one of the regular stops.

This place is a unique asset to anyone’s Golden experience! There isn’t a better place for beer and good live music with a wild west feel than at The Buff. The people there are great!

This eating experience almost ruined my amazing trip to Colorado! They said it was a ½ pound bison burger. I’ve had bigger at Mcds. The rest of my vacation included, «Well at least it was better than the famous bison burger» save your money.

An absolute amazing experience. What a great way to spend a Friday night. Cheap cover, quality food, and more energy than midst can handle. Supports locals Colorado artists for the people of Golden sand other neighboring counties.

Stopped in today for a quick bite during lunch hours. Never again. This had a dive bar feel to it but it looked clean. I ordered the BLT and a side salad. The salad was fine. The BLT was almost inedible. The bottom bread was so buttery and coupled with the grease from the bacon was really soggy. With places like D-Deli down the street there’s no reason to come here.

Sat at the bar on the patio, didn’t catch the name of the bartender but she was great. Very nice to us and very speedy service. Didn’t eat the food just had a couple of drinks and listened to the live music.

This place is a great gem in downtown historic Golden. It’s a laid back and fun biker-esque bar. It’s charming in it’s own manly way from the antler chandelier to the log cabin style wood walls. They have quite a few tables and a long sit down bar as well. We brought family here with us for the first time who were in from out of town and just wanted a casual lunch and a drink. It was a good choice! The bartender was great! She was inviting, offered us our drinks, and made sure we were taken care of the whole time. Tap prices were average, about $ 4.50 a pint at a non-happy hour time. They have all coors products on tap including Batch 19 and Native. They had quite a variety of bottled beers and can PBR. I also saw they had mixed warm drinks like hot cider and whiskey, bailey and coffee, and so on for just under $ 7, which is a pretty good price for a specialty drink! I will be back to give them a try! The food was pretty good too! It was the perfect pub/bar food for a great price and good flavor. Everyone at our table had no complaints! I had the prime rib dip with onion rings. We also had a brisket sandwich, regular burger, and bison burger served at our tables. Everything was pretty good considering it was all right around $ 8-$ 10 a plate. You get what you pay for. The horseradish wasn’t as strong as I was hoping for, however I am a tad bit of a horseradish snob, so I am harder to please in that department. The onion rings were giant and amazing! I had to cute them up into bite sizes and ate them with a fork. I loved every crispy deep fried bite of it! The home style chips are thick, crispy, and pretty good for house chips! The actual food service is a little dodgy, but who cares! I am here for some decent priced food and a couple beers to kick back. What I really liked is that you got to choose from a ton of sides with your meal, including soup, salad, onions rings… and there was NO upcharge for it. I hate when you go out and a restaurant tries to tack on an extra $ 2 – 3 bucks because you want a salad or a fried onion instead of a fried potato. At the Buffalo Rose they don’t discriminate your sides and celebrate the freedom to choose to whichever one you’ll enjoy the most for the same price. Yes, I totally just tried to incorporate the word freedom into this review, since they serve Freedom Fries(USA! USA! USA!) I’ll definitely be back.
