I think this store is great, and they have been for years! Tonight I say thank you to Butcher, Joshua, for giving me some excellent spice for the 2 steaks I bought. All the butchers there are great, especially the guy with the thick glasses(sorry I forget your name) The produce guys are nice and knowledgeable(and even are training the new youngsters well) and of course, Anthony, very nice and professional as always. Nice, real normal checkers are great(with only one exception who just needs to lighten up and smile) and I’m a regular of 30+ years. Deli people friendly as well. Thank you!!!

Small. Claustrophobic aisles here! I actually don’t mind this Albertsons as much as the other location because it’s not overrun with college students. There is no self-checkout that is a bit of a bummer but the employees aren’t so bad here. I don’t mind their small talk because here they actually acknowledge you! Albertsons has good prices, but produce is hit or miss. Be aware of that.

This is a decent Albertson’s. I don’t like the design though, the aisles are very narrow. The guy at the register on the evening of May 1st was nice enough to walk around and place my bags into my cart even though there was a line of customers. That was pretty cool.

I frequently shop for 2 households at this neighborhood market. I recently came in anticipating a sale on chicken breasts, although I was a day early. After speaking to Modesto – the head butcher – and explaining my dilemma: how I had come specifically for their dependable deal on this item, he was kind enough to honor the sale price I thought was posted already. Shout out to Josh, a butcher there also, who is always very friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient. Besides which, they have the freshest fish always – bar shopping down at the harbor, or hooking it yourself.

Who rates grocery stores? We all should when we receive exceptional service when it’s the least expected! Joshua in the meat department was the guy who did it for me today, offering me a friendly smile along with great customer service. All I wanted was a piece of salmon for my dinner, and he took the time to get me a prime piece of fish from behind the counter… and I didn’t even ask for it! That made me so happy it didn’t even phase me that the rank smell of the customer who walked past me followed me past 3 aisles… So thanks for making my trip to the grocery store such a positive experience, Joshua! He’s helped me before in the past and was super nice every single time, so I figured it was my turn to go out of my way and do something nice for him as well. Hopefully you’ll get a raise ;)

this is one of the smallest Albertsons I have been, but they have what every other albertsons has. I usually go there for fruits, and its pretty fresh.

Compared to the dumpy, run-down, depressing stores I’m forced to deal with in LA, this place is a godsend. Clean, well-organized and well-stocked, and the checkout staff are really friendly. Will definitely stop by here when in the area again!

This is one of those small-town feel kind of stores. It’s a relatively small Albertson’s, so you see the same employees everyday. That’s pretty cool because they get to know you a little more than a stranger. Dave is the manager and is a pleasure to talk to if anything is wrong with what you buy. You may be lucky enough to see one of the local patrons named Sherry(I think that’s her name). She’s got some stuffed animals clutched in her arms and loves to tease the staff up front while you check out. Makes it better than checking your phone while you wait. They regularly stock fresh rosemary, oregano, thyme and a few other herbs… rather than get it in those little plastic things.

One of the smallest Albertson’s I have ever been to so do NOT go here if you need an emergency cake or anything like that, they do not have a bakery. But, they do have the basics plus a really great produce department, organic food aisle, good hours, and friendly cashiers and employees. This is the one grocery store in Santa Barbara where people actually ask if they can help you find something.

I used to frequent this place as a Gaucho ever since I lived in FT(F*&% Towers) which has been renamed to Catalina something I hear… anyways, this place was clutch this weekend when my sister who is 9 years my minor graduated from UCSB… we were supposed to make leis but we didn’t have time and there were a bunch of cops(I’m talking 6 cop cars) parked outside an area where were thinking about picking some so we went to Costco and they had just sold out of leis… luckily Albertsons still had some. They were only $ 18.99 and were double leis(not just a single strand a more fuller version). We were stoked. I found out the cake we had the night before a graduation party was made at Albertson’s(I’m guessing this one) and it was pretty delicious. Chocolate pudding and fresh strawberries sandwiched in between white cake and then iced with whipped cream. Awesome, fresh strawberries were unnecessary to me but added a nice touch… the cake was so soft and delicious almost reminded me of a Boston Cream Pie. The party had two cakes one half sheet pan and another full… it could have fed a hundred people… no joke. I was shocked to see a sushi take-out joint inside this Albertson’s as well. Boy have times changed…

With its recent renovation this place went from being the bane of my existence to a better than average shopping experience. It may just be that the lady, who I will name the Alcohol Nazi, that used to check the id of everyone in line when you were trying to buy alcohol has apparently gone on to greener pastures(read: dead), but this place has become a place that I actually enjoy visiting. It has great deals on many of its goods at any given time, and the staff is friendly and helpful. Overall, while this place can not compare to a Costco or Trader Joes, it gets the job done; and does it well.

Short Version: Friendly! Long Version: I had to stop by to get some groceries for a function that I was attending and met the nicest, most helpful and relaxed staff at any grocery store I’ve been to. Is it the wine from the neighborhood, slowly seeping into the water supply? The great climate? Constant yet hidden sex? Whatever the case, the staff was really friendly and helpful and it gave me moments of thinking, «Wow, people are a lot nicer outside of L.A.»
