Dr. Tom Cox, M.D., Gynecologist

Dr. Cox is one of the best medical professionals I have ever met. He is very respectful and has a soothing voice and manner, and I would highly recommend him for annual exams.
I am and always have been extremely afraid of doctors, blood, needles, etc. Getting my blood taken is enough to have me in hysterics, crying and making enough of a scene to make other patients certain I’ve just been given 3 months to live. A friend of mine recommended Dr. Cox after having some difficulties with her period and seeing him a few times for various tests and treatments. She told me that he was the best gynecologist she’d ever been to.
At first I was scared to have my exam with a male gynecologist, but after calling to make an appointment I found out the wait to see a female was several weeks, and Dr. Cox had a cancellation that I could take the very next day — I figured I’d better get it over with before I lost my nerve!
Dr. Cox talked me through every part of the exam and assured me it would be quick and painless. He was right. I left feeling relieved I’d gotten it over with and appreciative for his kindness and respect. Most doctors who I’ve been to treat me as though I’m silly for being so scared, but Dr. Cox respected my fears and tried to reason with me to make me forget them.
I’ve been to Dr. Cox for a couple of exams since my first, and he has remembered me and congratulated me for being increasingly brave. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a skilled and kind gynecologist.
