This place truly changed my life. 10⁄10 would recommend for good vibes and good food. Best place in IV by far

OTACO has greatly improved their tacos ! I go on taco Tuesday’s when tacos are $ 2. The size of the tacos is pretty big so it’s even worth trying on regular priced days !

I tried this place when it first opened and gave it a not so great review. Maybe coming back as an alumni gave me a soft heart, but I’ll give Otaco one more star just because of how they added some more options onto the menu. I had a fish and shrimp taco on Friday and both were fairly good. A little heavy on the sauce for the shrimp taco to the point where it’s too sweet and needs some acidity(like lime) and the cabbage wasn’t cut finely enough so there were huge chunks of cabbage in both tacos. The lime rice was pretty good so this is helped redeem a star. Continue to make sure the quality improves and be more adventurous with the taco varieties and it may just be the hard hitter IV needs.

Man, I’m pretty upset. I ordered a couple stuff. I ordered fries with cheese, legit put only fries with cheese. They even called me to confirm it, and I explained just fries with cheese, and they were like okay. They still messed up my order LOL… How is that even possible?! They even messed up my quesadilla order too. Honestly the food is mediocre, they messed up my order even after calling to confirm, and it’s overpriced as well. Go anywhere else but here lol.

This is probably the worst«mexican» food in the IV area. The surf and turf burrito has a HORRIBLE sweet sauce that ruins the burrito and the south west chicken tacos are bland and dry taste more like a chicken wrap you get at a cafeteria or something, and the carne asada fries are disgusting af with the kind of nacho cheese you get at places like movie theaters. Today is the last time i go there as i got their new pastor burrito and was ready to throw it out after two bites. Horrible tasting burrito that was horribly wrapped. Only reason it would even be one star is for the solid beer collection, the fish tacos which were pretty good, and the salsa and chips were also alright. Would not recommend trying this place, don’t know why I gave so many chances. Would recommend freebirds or even rosaritos over this place.

Even in the past when their food was just tacos, I found their tacos to be very good with a great salsa bar. But today, they upgraded to a full menu, and I strongly recommend it. Their Surf n’ Turf burrito was loaded with steak and shrimp and the lime rice was delicious.

Otaco stepped up their game big time! Their menu is huge and cooking staff is fast. No wait time at all despite a grand opening of their new menu and a lot of ppl in line. Now, onto the food. I got the surf and turf bowl. It was good, but the rice is a little too limey. The nachos are BOMB though! Gotta give it another try for sure, but it seems like it’ll be a restaurant to be at in IV!

So I went here today and I got the carne Asada fries and surf and turf bowl. The carna Asada fries were good. It’s not authentic Mexican but I like fake Mexican. The carne Asada fries came with nacho cheese, meat, fries, cilantro, and onions. It was pretty good. The surf and turf came with rice some orange sauce tomatoes steak and shrimp. Overall it was pretty good but a little overpriced. However the food here is very good and it’s a nice place to hang out with their karaōke nights or just coming to chill and drink.

Pretty awesome!!! Their surf and turf, BBQ pork, and fried fish burritos are bomb. Reasonable price as well. You can get the burritos in a bowl as well if you’re watching your carbs lol. Their cilantro ranch sauce is pretty epic!!!

I wasn’t a fan of Otaco during its earlier months(lack of variety, expensive, etc), but the menu has upgraded & their food has improved greatly! I really really liked their Carne Asada Cheese Fries. It tastes way different than all the other carne asada fries in IV because they use pre-made nacho cheese. I know it doesn’t sound good, but it was really yummy! I also added salsa sauce on top, which made it taste even better! The steak nachos were good! I loved how crispy & fresh the tostada chips were. But I barely got any meat, and it was the best part about the nachos. Knocked off a star because for the small portions, it’s pretty darn expensive for my sad wallet :(Otherwise, I think they’re improving more & more each day. Will come back!!! Good job Otaco ^_^

Otaco is my new favorite restaurant in IV. The tacos are a dollar for the rest of the summer. I’m going to probably eat lunch here everyday now until the deal is over. They’re so good if you remember how much you paid for it. Tomatillo salsa is pretty ok. I like their carne asada the best. I don’t like the potato tacos, perhaps they should have fried the potatoes. The potatoes were soggy and made the tortilla soggy too. Carnitas was good, but I usually don’t like carnitas I’m basically just gonna get carne asada tacos everyday now though. The avocado less salsa was ok, a bit spicy. Their rancheros salsa is alright, and I didn’t try their red salsa. There wasn’t any cilantro when I was there for some reason, but I always load up my tacos with hella onions and tomatillo salsa, so naturally I’m partial to the tomatillo. Not the best tomatillo but not the worst! I got their strawberry milk. It tasted like that Chinese«White Rabbit» candy in liquid form. It’s horrendously sweet and I wouldn’t buy it again.

Judging by the salsa bar alone. NOTGOOD. I think all the subpar salsa choices were sitting out for HOURS. The«avocado-less» green salsa was putrid. The chips however, were pretty dang good. They were thick and piping hot with just enough salt. Also, only $ 1 per order. Good deal! Didn’t try any of the other food, so can’t speak for that. The atmosphere is cool if you come with a big group of friends, definitely loved the karaōke. Beer choices were average, not that large of a selection. Overall, would come back on a weekend night with friends for the beer and karaōke, but definitely not for any of the food.

Otaco? More like Oshitno! I was so disappointed. Wow. I can’t believe they have the audacity to call this Mexican food. I had the carne asada bowl and tried the cheese fries. The bowl was 90% white rice. White rice. Where’s the Mexican rice??? There weren’t any beans. The bowl was 10% lettuce! I can go on and on. The fries were skinny and soggy. Nacho cheese? Yuck. The décor is so confusing! What! Like another reviewer said, it looks like Foot Locker in there. What’s up with the punching bag? The«chairs» look like cages meant for smuggling animals. I don’t get the theme at all. I’m not exaggerating, guys. It was bad. Even Chipotle is better.

The food is pretty bomb. The service is great. The workers are very hospitable — Shoutout to Savannah. They have awesome promotions throughout the week. Definitely one of the best taco and carne asada places

Can I just say Oh. My. Gawd… I mean can’t you just tell by my picture? The carne asada fries are sooooo BOMB here. I’ve had others in IV before but nothing compares to this. The fries are perfectly seasoned with salt, topped with a whopping layer of deliciously beautiful nacho cheese and yummy goodness. The carne asada. Dear lord. Gimme more. I order a jalapeño on the side and that’s basically the cherry on top to my order of perfect carne asada fries. I find the portion is just right for about 2 – 3 people. The atmosphere is also very hip and modern, I like it. It can be loud because of karaōke going on sometimes, but it’s always a lot of fun watching everyone laughing and singing. If noise is not for you, don’t come on karaōke nights. Other than that, I actually find this a very nice and new study place in the mornings. Overall, 5 stars. It is a very nice and new addition to IV, always surrounded by great company. Although it is new, I see its growing potential as the place is always striving to be better and coming out with lots more delicious food. **update** their al pastor taco with pineapples is sooooo gooooood. I recommend!!!

Bland food, expensive for the quality and the quantity… Teeny tiny tacos and the tortillas aren’t even heated, like they pulled it out of a bag and slapped some microscopic amount of unseasoned meat on it… ***Asada fries are disgusting*** Lemon con chia agua fresca was alright, tasted like Minute Maid(or some other generic lemonade drink) with some chia seeds in it… Like, did they even try? If avoidable, please do… Not worth your money The place is not even mediocre at best… And I really don’t like leaving bad reviews):

I think OTaco stands a chance to have a good run. The menu is very simple and the tacos tasted fresh. I love their approach to Aguas Frescas. They put the beverage in a cup with ice and the seal the top Boba style. They have at least a couple local beers on tap. I suggest that they serve all local beer and source as many ingredients as possible from our local farm community. To the owners, Support as many student groups as possible and they will support you back. You have a great location. IV is a town that likes to eat. Good luck!
