Great food and bartenders. Ribeye was amazing. Get a Barney if you are sitting at the bar.

Consistently good food, one of the better places to eat in Louisiana. The only reason I don’t give it 5 stars is I’ve becomes spoiled to the $ 10 weekday lunch specials and find the regularly priced menu items available for dinner or weekends to be just a little too high. This location(Gonzales) seems to be the best out of all the locations, but they all suffice.

I have visited this restaurant with my family multiple times in the past, but our experience yesterday was terrible and we will NEVER be back. They were packed and the service was terrible, but the fact that our waiter spilled a HUGE amount of grease/butter/garlic all over my boyfriend really pushed it over the edge. We recognized that they were busy and didn’t make a huge deal about the spill; however, even the floor had to be cleaned due to the amount that spilled(which our waiter didn’t notice and my mom had to point out so that he didn’t slip and fall). We didn’t complain once yesterday, and weren’t looking to put anyone down. My mother calmly called to speak with the manager today because after multiple attempts we cannot get the stains out of the clothes. The manager(Bruce) was dismissive, didn’t want to listen to what happened, and recommended that we try the dry cleaners– and get this… If we could provide a copy or the receipt from the dry cleaners and pictures of the shirt/pants then he would give us a free dessert. I’m sorry, but a free dessert does not make up for $ 150 worth of ruined clothes. As for the service issues, the meal took a solid 3 hours for 6 people. He forgot our appetizers, didn’t take our entrée orders until after we had finished eating the appetizers, didn’t bus the table once, and never took away the menus. We had to stack our menus on the floor to make room for the appetizers. We had to stack our salad plates on top of our oyster shells to make room for our entrees when they finally came(without sides). All of our sides came 20 minutes after the entrees. It was ridiculous, a manager never came by, and no one apologized for the service nor acknowledged the fact that it took us 3 hours to get through a meal and get the bill. Honestly, the food was great. Unfortunately, the service was that bad and the manager insulted my mother by being so dismissive when she called to discuss the ruined clothes– we will never be back. This used to be our place of choice for big family celebrations and we have spent a lot of money at this restaurant, but never again!

Sat at the bar next to two drink old men cursing like sailors, which was kind of entertaining for me. The service was average. The broiled seafood platter was not all that tasty. I should’ve gotten the grilled oysters and a soup, and called it a night.

Stopped by for lunch. Had to wait about 15 minutes for a seat around 2pm, but was able to walk away and get a text message when a table freed up. They have super fast wifi, and friendly hosts/waitresses. Service takes a while, so don’t plan on being out in less than 1.5 hours. Had alligator and oysters with cole slaw and hush puppies. Hush puppies were spicy, everything else was good. Had crème brûlée for desert — phenomenal.

We love Mike Anderson’s. It’s a favorite that dates back to when we lived in BTR and now that we are away, we try to get back anytime we are back in BTR.

Mike Anderson’s is a very nice place. Their stuffed potatoes are my personal favorite. The menu has good selections and the food is very tasty. I just feel like the price is a little to expensive for the portion size you get.

Food took way to long. It was the middle of the day. No way should we wait for 1hr and a half for lunch. By the time the food came, some of us were to upset to enjoy it. I have eaten there before and it wasn’t like this.

The chargrilled oysters are some of the best I have ever eaten. They were so good I had wished I didn’t order a meal and made those my meal. Guitreau Fish was EXCELLENT!!! I loved it. It had a wonderful sauce. My fiancé had the grilled Tuna supreme and he enjoyed it.

Staff was friendly. Waiter was great but I do have complaints. I’m not sure why but you have to wait 15 minutes or more for a table when you can clearly see more than 15 or so tables open. Second the crawfish and shrimp fettuccini I got was a little on the bland side. Copelands does a better job with this dish. Drinks were great but was not offered a drink menu. Had to ask the waiter for one. Waiter ended up with a $ 20 tip for being a great individual. Probably won’t come back anytime soon since food was not memorable

Excellent service, very classy atmosphere and delicious seafood. My husband and I stopped here on our way home to Texas from a recent visit to New Orleans. Wasn’t sure what to expect, but am VERY glad we chose to eat lunch here on our journey home. We started with a dozen oysters – some of the best gulf oysters I’ve ever eaten. Gumbo was good, and we split the Mike’s special on the grilled menu. Similar to New Orleans barbecue shrimp. We sat in a booth in the bar so my husband could catch up on the baseball scores. Just a classy place. Waiter in a white button down, knew how to give excellent service without being stuffy. Highly recommend.

Very nice atmosphere! I’m not into seafood but they have really good chicken and sausage gumbo. Their Long Island iced teas were pretty good too. Our server disappeared on us a few times but she was nice. I even noticed the manager, Bruce, was someone who used to wait on me at a different restaurant. I enjoyed myself and would definitely return. They have a limited menu right now because they are renovating some of the kitchen.

This place is amazingly great! From appetizers and drinks all the way to desert! The Cajun Bloody Mary was an appetizer unto itself and spiced perfect even for this spicy Texas girl. The grilled oysters really had nice flavor and I was very impressed with the size of the oysters on the half shell. I ordered the Louisiana fried platter and everything was done perfectly! It was so much food that I will have at least 2 more meals out of it. Our waitress was Natasha and I recommend you ask for her. She knows her stuff! This is why people rave about creole food! This place does Louisiana proud! We just had another amazing dinner at this restaurant and I wish I was able to up the number of stars!!! Our waitresses name was Katherine and she was a real professional. I had the Norman. It was worthy of being called a signature dish. This time we splurged on desert and I must say it was the best bread pudding I have ever had. Coming to Gonzales without a trip to Anderson’s Seafood is like going to New Orleans without experiencing the French Quarter!!!

Eh. I’ve had better. No major rant or rave. Menu a little on the boring side. Service was good. I consider it similar to a glorified Red Lobster maybe?

Mike Anderson’s Seafood is a classic old timers seafood joint. Expect a older crowd, expect a menu that could easily have been written in 1970… perhaps I should order a Gin and Tonic??? We stopped here on our way through town, the Unilocal ratings were decent and it was close to the highway. We ordered a fried shrimp and a stuffed shrimp dinner and both were a bit dry and kinda boring… they will certainly fill you up, but don’t expect any bold flavors or creative twists. I wish they would attempt a sauce or something to accompany the particularly dry stuffed shrimp.

Omg where to begin! The food is soooo goodt! This place was highly recommended to me by a coworker, so me and my friend decided to check it out this past weekend. Just so happened to be Prom Saturday when we went, so we were told that the place was a little more crowded than normal for 6 pm. In lieu of waiting 30 mins for a table, we sat at the bar. Ordered appetizers and a Captains Koolaid mixed drink. I had the raw oysters, which I devoured. They were fresh and salty, just like I like them. The gentleman sitting next to us had the chargrilled oysters as an app, and they looked and smelled delicious. I’m a raw oyster kinda girl myself, but everyone raved about the chargrilled oysters. People literally butted into our conversation to tell us how good they were lol. For the main course I had the crabmeat au gratin and the stuffed baked potato. And let me tell u both were rich with flavor. You know how u put your fork down like five times and it keeps ending up in your hand? I finished eating like four times lol! My friend had the ribeye with jumbo lump crabmeat and gave me a piece of it, and it was cooked perfectly. The pricing here is a little on the high side, but so is the great service we received and the food quality. Every dish was excellent based on my food, my friends food and the folks sitting beside us. When you’re looking to treat yourself, definitely come here! I will certainly be back!

I had the chance to come here for dinner and I was very satisfied and pleased with everything about this restaurant. Upon arrival, there was a long wait(40 minutes)…but it was prom night so all the high schoolers were living it up and it looked like they were having a great time. Because of this, we decided to eat at the bar… and I’m glad we did. The bartender/server was very courteous and pleasant. The other people who were sitting around us were nice also, so that made for great food and conversation. But onto the food… it was delicious! I ordered the Captain’s Kool-Aid adult beverage, fried green tomatoes appetizer, Black Angus Ribeye with crab lumps with salad and stuffed potato casserole. The Captain’s Kool-Aid…strong, tasty, and immensely drinkable… this drink might be a problem for me. The fried green tomato appetizer was the best version of fried green tomatoes that I’ve ever had. They were topped with crab meat and remoulade sauce and tasted like heaven! The salad was a salad… nothing special. The stuffed potato casserole was kind of like mashed potatoes with cheese put into a potato skin and baked… it was amazing. But the Black Angus Ribeye… the black angus ribeye… good god was it delicious! It was cooked perfectly medium rare, topped with large pieces of crab meat, and was the best, buttery, juicy piece of beef I’d had in a while. The meal was pricey, but in the end, I would come back and pay for it all over again. $ 63 for Captain’s Kool-Aid, Fried Green Tomatoes, Salad, Stuffed Potato Casserole, and 12 oz Black Angus Ribeye topped with crab meat… worth it! PS…the restaurant is attached to a Clarion hotel. If you’re not familiar like I wasn’t, then you’ll be super confused when your GPS takes you to a hotel parking lot… the restaurant is right of the building.

Several co-workers recommended this restaurant when they knew I was taking a work trip to the area so I knew it was a must try. Walk in and you’re immediately immersed in the amazing cheese and garlic aroma of the chargrilled oysters on display near the entrance. I’ve tried several of their dishes, my favorite being the broiled shrimp and my «must have every time» being the chargrilled oysters. My least favorite were the crab claws — I had high hopes, but they were slightly dry. On one of my first visits, the waitress recommended the«Barney» — a mixture of Abita Andygator and Purple Haze. Love it and it’s now my go to drink when in Louisiana! As I frequently make visits out here, I’ll be back because no trip is complete without some of these chargrilled oysters!

When you find yourself in nowhere LA you pray for a place like this… Oh god of food please hear my prayers… those were answered here with Mike Anderson’s! We went as a group of 4 for lunch and were very impressed with the place. My travel co-worker and I liked it so much we went back for dinner! The prices aren’t cheap, but the quality of food and the service make it really worth it. The lunch waitress was fantastic, she swapped my salad even though it was my fault. The dinner waitress was more formal at night but just as good. Dinner and drinks, well served and both dishes were amazing. She got the steak dinner and I got a shrimp/crab meat inside a fish wrap that was WOW… *taste it* wowzer that’s good. I think I even remember wine pairing selections on the menu. The place is an open layout with the main dining room separated from the bar area. Would interior accents with clean décor, tables etc. Full bar, healthy wine pour and you don’t leave feeling ripped off.
