I found out about this holistic medical centre at the recent«What Women Want» trade show in Charleston. After receiving a free, mini-massage to my upper back at the show, the staff let me know that I could receive a free, no-obligation consultation at their clinic. Today I went in for that consultation. The amount of paperwork was intense, you fill it out yourself, but I can totally appreciate a clinic that asks this much information from a potential patient/client. When I mentioned to the very sweet receptionist that I was not interested in doing the consult if there was any fees involved, she reassured me that it was totally free. None of my billing information was taken(no credit card number etc). The intake process was immediate after the 15 minutes of form-filling I did. Christina brought me to a room where she interviewed me thoroughly, then once Dr Chris Gray joined us, she accurately relayed a synapses of what she and I talked about.(Side note: I checked out there website which is really easy to navigate, but when I went to the«about-our team», there was information about Dr Gray(chiro) but nothing on the medical doctor on staff or the rest of the team members.) Dr Gray basically went over my forms, answered a few of my questions and explained their office process. He explained what I would need to do if I chose to become a patient(getting referred by my GP, a brief idea of how the billing works etc). Dr Gray came across as a very direct, easy to talk with and experienced professional. The overall feeling in the office was friendly, the patients coming/going/waiting seemed to enjoy their visit and had smiles on their faces. The office is on the smaller side and the rooms also seem a bit small/cramped. It is clean and bright. I did not get to see the physio area clearly but I did see weight-loss vibration machine(which I am not a fan of, don’t believe it is conducive to weight loss… my opinion!). There was no pressure to book or buy into their services and Christine walked me out, thanked me for my time, along with offered me a sample of one of their nutritional supplements(protein bar) since I mentioned I was interested. The location is very far for me(30 min drive during zero traffic times… could be way longer during peak traffic!). The location is easy to find and access. Not much parking. At this time, what will leave me to think about choosing this office is that Dr Gray did confirm that their practice requires a new patient to commit/complete 12 visits within a specified time. They do not agree with allowing the patient to decide on the visit frequency. I can understand that the doctors want to get a good idea of the person’s needs/condition… but in my experience, I have seen NUMEROUS chiropractors for both post-MVC healing, regular maintenance and occasional flare up visits. Cost could be an issue for some people. Unfortunately, chiropractic care is often NOT covered by many insurance companies, both here in the USA and in Canada. At this time a 3 out of 5 star seems fair, since I have not received actual treatment, but would definitely recommend to others because my first visit was pleasant and painless!(no pun intended)

Very unprofessional business. I got a bill a year later for charges I was told I wouldn’t have to pay for a total of $ 1800. I went to them obviously very upset and their excuse was the office manager at the time made a lot of mistakes. I fail to see how that should have costed me $ 1800. They ended up dropping it to $ 600 but the point of the story is they can’t be trusted.
