Every Saturday my kids and I get up early and head to Publix bakery for chocolate covered donuts. Theirs are soooo moist and baked fresh daily. The donuts are just right — soft even at the end of the day (though they rarely make it past noon). The chocolate icing is not overly sweet and is generously applied! The kids like sprinkles on theirs though I’m a fan of the ones with nuts on top. Regardless, these donuts are way better than any I’ve add at a donut shop — and cheaper. Publix specialty donuts are $.70, but sometime on Saturday, you can get a box of 6 fresh chocolate covered donuts for $ 1.99. Whenever I have family coming in, I order ahead.
