Been meaning to try this place for awhile… great menu selection beyond just burgers. Good salad with pulled pork on top… not too crowded. good prices. friendly waitstaff. Can sit outside with your dog.

I can’t believe we didn’t try this place sooner. It’s so freaking good! I love how smokey and fresh some of their stuff are. I’m so sad we’re moving now. Lol

After passing by on my trips to Goose Creek I got a chance to pop in and try this place. I sat at the bar and was quickly served. The menu has a lot of things I would like to try, but I opted for the Smoked Wings with a side of fries. The smoked wings had a great smokey flavor without being overpowered. The wings were very large. The fries came out hot and crispy. In my opinion the wing rub could have used a little more spice, maybe some more garlic powder or pepper for a kick, I was offered some hot sauce for the wings but decided to try them ‘as is’ the first time around. I could defiantly see myself coming back for the wings, with some hot sauce, and to try some of the other specials. The tacos stood out to me, with ample choices of meat and a great price point. The bartender was polite and provided some good conversation while eating and waiting on my food, overall a friendly place with some tasty food.

Service was awful today, especially the loud obnoxious foul mouth, inappropriate bartender that we(my son and husband) could hear on the other side of the restaurant. I told our waitress she was too loud and she laughed about it. Our waitress was too busy hugging on the man at the bar, hanging out at the bar to see we needed forks, refills, our check. Just heard the bartender say«titty punch.» Will not ever come back.

This place is outstanding! My brother took me there one evening because he was bragging how good it was but that it never seemed busy. He got wings(and couldn’t finish them all), and I got ribs. Best I’ve had anywhere! He gave me the leftovers and they were fantastic! I went back at a later date and got pulled pork and took some to my mother who is a BBQ expert. She loved it! Will definitely keep this on my list of my favorite places!

The smoked wings… just order them because they are some of the best I’ve ever had. I got two tacos, one brisket and one pulled pork. The pulled pork was really good but the brisket was greasy. Maybe it was greasy because they cooked it in a skillet before going in the taco. Overall decent experience and I’d go for the wings again.

I stopped here for lunch with a coworker while in town for work. It was dead inside but the set up was pretty cool. The food was amazing. All the meat was perfectly cooked and the buffalo chicken dip was one of the best appetizers I’ve ever had.

It’s your local watering hole. We moved her a little over 3 months ago and thought we’d give it a shot. Cosmos wrong Goose Creek isn’t big on commercial restaurants. We stared with the mozzarella sticks(can’t mess those up right)? They were your typical drop in the dryer snack. Not a jaw dropper. Quite a few beers on tap, I was impressed they served them in their appropriate glassware. Now the burger is what made me happy! I got the breakfast burger. It actually tasted like a delicious seasoned beef burger stuffed with some fatty(tasty) bacon topped with an over easy egg and American cheese. I was in heaven. It was simple but packed with that great burger flavor. Not overly greasy and just juicy enough. Service was right where it needed to be, we weren’t ignored and not suffocated. The place wasn’t as busy as your typical Applebee’s but it was loaded with TV’s. I could see 7TV’s without having to spin around all over the place. Yes I’d go again and try a different burger or the BBQ that everyone talks about. Enjoy!

Great smoked wings, pulled pork, ribs, and fried green tomatoes. So far that’s all we’ve eaten from TJs so can only judge them on these items. In my opinion this is the best place to eat in Goose Creek. We moved here a few months ago and we’re really disappointed with the lack of decent dining options in Goose Creek. so far TJs is the only place we’d recommend to any one. The first time we visited was on a Saturday night and with the exception of a couple people at the bar, the place was empty, which made us wonder if it was any good. We were so pleasantly surprised when our food arrived, but still wonder why the place was so empty on what is a busy time in most places. We’ve been back a few times and it’s never busy. The only negatives are that the place looks like it needs a little freshening up. the big leather sofas in the middle have seen better days and add nothing to the atmosphere, and some better lighting would be a great improvement. The service is good for the most part, but felt kind of rushed by one of the waitresses on 2 different visits. In all honesty, I’m giving 4 stars because we have found no place better in Goose Creek. Our favorite Charleston-area BBQ place is Home Team, but TJs is almost as good, and is the only place to go when we don’t feel like making the drive to West Ashley or Sullivan’s Island. If you’re in Goose Creek and want a satisfying meal, TJs is a great choice. But if you want something other than BBQ or fast food and don’t mind making a 15 minute drive, there are great places in Summerville and in the Park Circle area of North Charleston.

Just cause I am giving me this place a 3, it doesn’t mean it was bad. This place was just very average in terms of their food. I got the smoke wings which were pretty good, and my coworkers all had burgers. The burgers they described were«good, but nothing special» and noticed that they were kind of small. What threw me off about the place was the service. We went at about 1 pm, and there was barely anyone there. However, everything took so long to do(getting our drinks, orders, food, checks). I could understand if they were busy, but there was probably only two other groups there. All-in-all I could definitely see myself coming back because there was a good variety of food and tasty, for the price. But like I said, it’s not anything special. If you’re looking for your next favorite burger/BBQ place, you should try your luck somewhere else. But if you just want a quick(assuming the service wasn’t as slow as mine) bite to eat, this place isn’t a bad choice.

Amazing food! Amazing service! And they’ll let your kids draw on the wall! :-) The beef brisket is so good! The pulled pork is delicious! The wings are huge and amazing!!! Honestly, if you love barbecue, you’re missing out if you haven’t been there yet! This is our official new place to get barbecue! We’ve tried most of the barbecue joints around the low country and none have even come close! The décor throughout the restaurant is warm and inviting. There’s large couches that look like you’d never want to get off of them. The wall beside each booth table is a chalkboard. They’ll bring you a little bowl of chalk, if you ask for it or if they remember I suppose, and you can draw or write whatever. Our kids loved it!!! It kept them entertained and quiet, smartest idea ever ;-) Trust me! Just quit reading reviews and go there!!!

Not the most chic bar/restaurant I’ve been to, but food and service have been consistent both times I’ve attended. Had the pulled pork sandwich, with sweet potato fries. Everything was delicious. Bun held up to the pulled pork well, soft but not soggy. They served with multiple BBQ sauces, both tasted great, one was more sweet and one was more spicy. Sweet potato fries were crispy and thick. Service was attentive but not overbearing, great price too. Will be back.

Food was great! My fiancé both had the ½ rack of ribs. Best ribs I had in charleston so far. Service was great. We had two kids in our party of 6, waiter went out of her way to bring kids toys and changed channel to entertain the two kids. Will definitely be back.

This place needs to get discovered. It’s not mentioned on the food scene at all, but serves really good food — especially the smoked chicken wings and the onion rings. BBQ in all forms is delicious — pulled pork, ribs, brisket — although I prefer the burger, which was perfectly cooked to medium rare order. Deserves a look-see if in the Goose Creek area.

Unilocal does it again! I found this place based on the good reviews and probably would not have tried it based on what we saw from the outside. Even the first few minutes inside I was a little worried I had made a mistake. Well, I’m here to tell you I made some points with the wife by choosing this place for lunch! We had 4 adults and 2 young kids looking for lunch. Ashley was our waitress and from the beginning she was excellent! She really took great care in making sure we had everything. She brought the 4 year old’s food out first which was a great touch, as she eats slow. We all tried one of her chicken bites and couldn’t believe how good they were. The fries we’re excellent too. Heck I didn’t try one thing that was not good, and I tried something on everyone’s plate. I had the ribs, they were fantastic. My wife is still raving about how good it was. We will definitely be back!

If you REALLY don’t like sports, this probably isn’t the place for you. We don’t, which is part of the reason why we don’t go often. There are large TVs visible from everywhere that are always tuned to sports. It’s great if you like that thing! Recliners and couches with small tables for comfy viewing in some areas. Just not our thing. Now. The food?!? The food is AMAZING! Wings are smoked for flavor, then flash fried when you order and served with sauce(not necessary) on the side. Why is sauce not necessary? Because they’re just that good without it. Stuffed Burgers are huge and cooked to order. Extra juicy with plenty of toppings. Could maybe be a little more ‘stuffed’ but that may depend on the type you get. Barbecue was tasty as it was served, but sauces on the table gave a decent range of sweet, sour and spicy. Fries were hand cut and delicious! I added more salt to mine, but I prefer more than most. Baked beans had barbecue in them and were like I’d make at home. Baked beans, slaw and potato salad are definitely things I’m picky about! No word yet on the other two, but the beans were spot on. Only complaint/criticism with the food is chips are only basic side item, everything else is an up charge. Since we didn’t have chips, I’m not sure what they are. But because they weren’t described as anything other than ‘chips’ I envisioned a bag of Lay’s. Chips might be ok with some sandwiches, but fries should come standard with a burger.

On February 6, 2015 at approximately 2021 hours Tom H. and I, Dante G., responded to TJ’s BBQ and Burgers located at 214 Saint James Avenue, which is located in the city of Goose Creek. Upon arrival we were seated along the interior B-side of the building after entering through the door on the A-side of the building(Door 2). We were greeted promptly and pleasantly. We were seated and advised Ashley Mc would soon be there to assist us. Ashley quickly determined our drink order. I went with a Wild Blue, a lager with a strong blueberry taste. Tom H., after being a pretentious beer snob, settled on a Rampant something IPA. He can’t even remember it was so memorable. Food orders were next. Tom H. went with the Southwest Burger. He requested it be cooked as little as possible. He likes his burgers like he likes his women; warm, pink, and juicy. I went with a build your own burger. Having watched several episodes of Supernatural, I built a bacon cheeseburger, medium well, with pickles and Pepperjack cheese. See attached photograph. Both meals arrived with lightening speed and were delicious. Tom H. opted for sweet potato fries where I went with the hand cut french fries. Mine allegedly had spice to them where Tom H.‘s were thicker cut. Ultimately, size did not matter because we were both pleased with our choice in french fries. A short time later, confidential source KY requested a rendezvous. I know that is a strange word to use, but I like the way it rolls off the tongue. Rendezvous. CSKY inquired as to the closing time of the kitchen. Ashley informed us the kitchen closes at about 2200 hours. The timing was perfect. Another BYO burger was obtained. CSKY seemed to enjoy her burger immensely. Even if it look like a condiment smörgåsbord. If it were not for voice to text, there is no way I could spell smörgåsbord. A second round of drinks brought us a Ranger IPA and a Landshark. Ashley was gracious enough to request the caps to both of the bottled beers for me. I have a board in my kitchen showing several of the bottled beers that I have consumed. See attached photograph. We move to the bar briefly to finish our drinks. I enjoyed the foot rest. End of Report.

If you are in the Goose Creek area and you are looking for a place where you can sit, get comfortable and have some BBQ, Burgers or a beer then TJ’s is the place for you. TJ’s is a local place that you will probably only find if you are with a local. The service is friendly, though it can take a little bit to get seated. I give this criticism knowing full well that I am a Californian and I move a little faster then southern living. This place is spacious and when I went here with a friend the 2 of us were seated at a booth that I felt could of held 6 – 8 of us. I am a fan of this place, do not let the rating fool you. A-Ok means I will go back to this place again and have no substantial problems with this place. As a burger connoisseur this place is no Hodad’s(San Diego reference) but I do enjoy their burgers when I want a step up from fast food. I would argue that Smashburger is better burgers, but TJ’s has the atmosphere where you would have no problem bringing a date here(if they get down on bbq or burgers). I am not going to spend much time of the food because it wasn’t stellar and it wasn’t bad. I enjoyed it for the taste more then just to sustain my life. I don’t review all the mid tier places I go to because they aren’t worth mentioning typically. I came from a big city where A-Ok places fold faster then superman on laundry day because there’s a million other choices. That being said, there are infinitely less options in South Carolina, and less open late and less open outside of Charleston proper. When I look at the people who rated this place 5 or 4 stars I noticed low numbers of reviews. From 1 foodie to another foodie, I can say I would not drive across the city or the county for this place. I would however have no problem recommending this place when you want something that has a good taste and does not involve driving more then 15 minutes. I am coming back here for sure because I fall in that range. If you are looking for something that is less of a chain(smokeybones) and more of a family environment and you live in the area then you’ll find yourself at TJ’s

Awesome burgers, great service. Will be back to eat again and for a game. Love that they have couches and 10 tv’s that can be easily seen from any seat. Great selection of craft beers on draught and food was cooked to perfection. Nice change of pace to be able to get a burger medium rare. Awesome place. Ready to try the bbq.
