Came in for lunch And had the buffalo rangoons and grilled chicken sandwich with French fries. Both very good. Friendly service. We will be back.

Hard to explain the bad reviews. Never had a bad meal there and they have an extensive menu with a great selection of draft beer and drinks. Bar is one of the better places in Gorham to have drinks, watch a game or listen to music.

Whenever I am in the Gorham area, I try to stop by J’s Corner. This restaurant is head and shoulders above most of the other local restaurants. Each meal is prepared from scratch, and this is a rarity in this part of New Hampshire; many other local restaurants simply heat up/deep fry whatever comes off of the SYSCO truck. One of my favorite dishes is the fisherman’s stew. It has a very nice selection of seafood in a tomato based broth. The servers are very helpful, attentive and personable.

Foods always very good. Menu is divers. Servers have always been great. There is a decent size bar that attracts a lot of folks, so it can get a little noisy in the attached dining room.

Broccoli and cheddar stuffed chicken with double mashed potatoes(instead of vegetables). For an appetizer I asked to upgrade the regular fried sampler from regular chicken fingers to buffalo an the potato skins to potato skins with steak terryaki. The waiter was extremely pleasant and said yes to all my upgrades with a smile. :)

Great spots for families and the kiddos. The food is good. I just wish they had a better beer selection — especially more local beers. We had great, fast and friendly service too.

Wonderful restaurant/lounge with fast friendly service. wide selection on the menu — appetizers, salads, soups, sammys, dinner entrees, and desert. Also have good selection of beer, wine and a full bar. Prices are pretty reasonable. I tried the buffalo chicken wrap and DW had the bacon cheeseburger. Both were very good. Fries are fresh made and cole slaw excellent. A pleasant surprise!

Hot sandwiches are decent. Buffalo Rangoon’s are the best tasting appetizer on the menu.

Always consistent in the quality of their food. Good variety. Great portions. Good martini and wide draft beer selection. Interior just redone and looks great. Thursday night live music is a great addition. Definitely worth stopping for. Buffalo rangoons are excellent. Family friendly

this is the place to go after a long day of riding the trails or just to have a quiet dinner. we have sat in the restaurant as well as at the bar to have dinner many times this summer and fall. never once had a problem, great food, fast service, quiet-yet friendly. tired another place to eat the other night and was highly disappointed in the service and the food! when headed to gorham or berlin nh make sure you stop in for a bite to eat and a few drinks at j“s. always a great place and excellent employees. way to go!!! kudo’s to you!!! mary old orchard beach, maine

For a pub, this place is ok. Family of 6 ate well. This is the only other place in town other than pizza or Subway. I got the Salmon in Pineapple Curry. I was disappointed that it didn’t have more curry flavor, but the pineapple sauce was sweet and the salmon was ok. Blackened on the bottom but still pulled apart with a fork well. Their garlic mashed didn’t have enough garlic. Wife had crab spinach stuffed haddock. She was satisfied. Kids got Mac and cheese, yes, Kraft Mac-n-Cheese. Overall, small portions across the table. I would normally rate this a 2 star, but this is the best place for not having pizza in the area.

My husband and I walked into J’s a little late for dinner(8:30pm on Saturday) not knowing what to expect, and were pleasantly surprised. J’s is primarily a steak & seafood restaurant, and while the menu doesn’t have a ton of choices, there was enough variety there in those categories for us both to find something we really wanted. Shared a tasty chicken wing appetizer with chili sauce. The BBQ ribs special was very good; I almost ordered the steak tips but was not disappointed with my choice. The baked potato wasn’t very large, but with those ribs to eat, who needs a large baked potato? My husband had the salmon and reported it quite good; we both had the corn on the cob on the side as well. Its sweetness was just fine on its own; no need for butter or salt! The service was excellent; I noticed our waitress glancing over to see how we were doing a couple of times, and I never found myself wanting for anything or waiting for her to show up. Enjoyed their beer on tap list; it’s nice to see a local restaurant offering some local beers, and I always have a soft spot for Switchback on tap. We splurged on dessert, and that was tasty as well — chocolate cream pie for me; cheesecake for him; both of us were happy. Overall, we left happy and pleased; we’ll definitely come back.

Definitely better than the other reviews said, considering the area and lack of other choices. We all got the lobster roll which was a special and were all pretty pleased by the meal. The service was also pretty good.

We came here for lunch and split 2 sandwiches. We were there about 2 so definitely off hours but the service was good as was the food. Also, it was heck of a deal. Gave us a 10% discount because we were staying at the hotel next door. Very reasonable prices and a wide selection on the menu.

A friend of mine and I went to lunch here 3−10−14, Monday Lunch, we ordered a cup of clam chowder, it had a funny taste, then stuffed mushroom caps, they were not baked they were microwaved half of them were hot and the other half were lukewarm, We both ordered the southwest chicken salad, the chicken had no taste and didn’t seem cooked enough, the dressing was sour cream and salsa, the cucumbers were see through, leading me to believe they were frozen but they used them anyway, Our waitress never came over to check if our food was ok. And when she asked if we wanted to wrap it up I told her it was terrible, She never apologized for the terrible food, Maybe she should quit her day job, she doesn’t seem to happy with it, they took the salads off the bill, I wouldn’t feed it to my dog, We will never return to this place.

Save your money. My family of five received a horrible meal at this place while we stayed the night next door at the Top Notch Inn(the front desk clerk referred us). The hostess seated us in the bar because they didn’t have any tables in the main area that were clean. We ordered the nachos for an appetizer, which was okay; it had two kinds of tortilla chips and lots of cheese, olives and peppers. It took the waitress a while to bring the salsa and sour cream that tops it all. She brought the silverware quite a while after the nachos, and there were no napkins on the table. My husband and I had the teriyaki steak tips, garlic mashed potatoes and vegetable(green beans) and some iced tea which tasted funny. The steak tips came on a soggy, blood-stained piece of toast and had a thick gravy and were rubbery. The potatoes had papery garlic peels mashed throughout and the green beans were oily. My kids had a greasy grilled cheese sandwich and mac n cheese, which was definitely the boxed type and was dry. The menu says you get refills but the waitress never bothered to come back to check on us. None of us bothered to finish our meals. Finally, she came back with the bill before we had even ordered dessert. I should have taken the bill and ran but my kids wanted a treat and I like to indulge them when we travel. We ordered the chocolate mousse cake, chocolate cream pie and carrot cake, which is all listed on the stained menu. The waitress rudely informed us that they no longer carry carrot cake, so we ordered the apple bloom. Both chocolate desserts had doughy crusts and the apple bloom was greasy and the apple wasn’t peeled well. After dessert we it was very difficult to get the attention of the waitress to pay the bill which was about $ 100. Not worth the money, and Robert Irvine would have a field day re-doing this place. This is definitely a «greasy spoon» for a restaurant, and I would never go back.

Keep looking you wont find a good meal here— I ordered a cup of Clam Chowder as an appetizer — it came out with the meal and had a «funny» taste to it. For an entrée I had a southwestern salad toped with grilled steak.– the salad part was reasonable but the steak was not edible — very tough and grizzly We also had $ 1.99 snuck in for 2 tiny(read less that half a piece of bread) garlic toast VERYDISAPPOINTING!!! there should be a no star rating skip this place

We stopped in here for some lunch on a Saturday afternoon while snowmobiling in the area. The place was packed with other snowmobilers so we thought this was a good choice. They had a good menu and bar so we thought we had be fine. I had a $ 9.993 course special of appt. entrée and dessert. I ordered potato skins(ok and most edible of everything), ribs w/fries, and mashed cauliflower, and dessert that never came. The ribs were dry and fatty. Came with cold greasy fries. Cauliflower was ok. Dessert never made it out. I would not go back even though service was attentive. At least it was right off the trail. 2−16−08 Ok so we did go back. Again 2 stars. Going back to read my review, it was spot on. Again greasy fries and tasteless club sandwich. I enjoyed my bowl of soup which was filled only half way.
