My next-​door neighbor told me Double J Café was great compared to the multiple restaurant failures in this building over the years, and he was right.
You should come and check it out for these reasons:
— Fresh ingredients wherever possible. A higher percentage of fresh food than you’ll find at a typical chain restaurant.
–The chef shows culinary training and deep experience, and a desire to go the extra mile to serve the very highest quality at affordable pricing.

Love it! I like the steak my husband loves the prime rib. They also have quesadillas and fish tacos etc. The homemade pies are good too. You can call and place an order and pick it up if you call and ask the specials.

Clean, friendly, authentic home cooking, good service, affordable: previous Unilocalers have made that much clear! I’d just add that, first, this is one of the few places my dad can get an old-​fashioned meat and veg meal at noontime while I get a very wonderful salad and my hubby can get a burger or ribs and fries… you don’t often see all that on one menu. Second, the little things here (all the dressings are homemade as is the BBQ sauce; the chicken breast on the salad is warm, tender, and nicely laid on; the soups are homemade; the iced tea is always fresh) really distinguish this place from lots of drearier down-​home diners.

Exquisite food and service had never had bad service nor food. Every time we (or i) would come here, they ask us what different foods we want to try. I love coming here and will come back more

this place has a lock on home cooking. the meatloaf on Thursdays is awesome, comes with mashed potatoes and gravy a veg and dinner roll. hot food fast. not Mcjunk. fried cod on Friday with Mac and cheese and baked beans and a dinner roll. good stuff. the menu is smallish but everything seems to be of good quality. friendly staff, and clean place.

Great little mom and pop spot and everytime we’ve gone we have brought a group and everything we have all gotten has been delicious, I’m willing to bet you can’t go wrong, they were accommodating for our baby and not mad about the little mess he made. Wife bakes the pies and the husband cooks, and man can he cook. I wish I could eat there every night, the only bad thing I could possibly say is they dont have a huge menu, maybe they just don’t have meals they haven’t mastered yet. It’s got home cooked meal written all over it, im just so glad it’s so close!
