I absolutely love this place & wishes it was one located all over Texas! But abundantely they are all located within Dallas surrounding areas. If you love chicken and biscuits you would love Babes! Who said chicken and biscuits don’t go together. They go best together. There is no menu, so listen carefully. The servers are happily welcome to repeat if needed. You pick a meat and all sides are included. Babes is known for their fried chicken. They have chicken fried steak, chicken strips, rotisserie chicken named hickory chicken, and oh man. see I told you, you gotta listen carefully. I just forgot. But strangely no chicken fried chicken. I’m not sure why I asked the server, but politely was told nope not on the menu. The sides consist of salad, mashed potatoes, green beans, gravy, and creamed corn. Refills are granted. So, if you’re in a group and everyone in the group orders something there is a great chance the table will be filled with lots of food. I love this place, because I love biscuits and syrup. Babes only has molasses(called something else) and honey. The biscuits are phenomenal. so great! Get a refill before leaving instead asking some to go(no charge that way). Sadly, the to-go boxes are small plastic bags similar to a doggy bag. So, if you’re truly daring to stuff the sides then go right ahead though it will be messy. I think though they are only designed for you to take your meat and biscuits. There is nothing city about this place. Chickens on the barn and all around, the bathroom is real southern, and the mascot is a groundhog literally. I come here to experience that real family dinner. Pass the sides kind of dinner. Babes Dinner is only $ 12.99. And the waitress & servers are all around very hospitality friendly.

Although the food was good not great. My wife and I felt more that we were more of a cattle herd. Get them in and out. We walked up got seated was eating within 20 minutes and out the door in 40 minutes. If your not in a hurry this isn’t the place. 2.5 on the atmosphere. May be better on larger groups.

I’ve eaten here many times. The food is great but ordering to pick up is impossible. I ended up cancelling the order before I even finished it because they were so uncooperative. No, we won’t sell you a dessert. No, we won’t cook it before 5:00. Really? I’ll go somewhere that actually wants some business.

Everyone raves about this place but I honestly don’t see what all the fuss is about. The chicken is okay, a little lacking in flavor but decent. The sides are also just okay. The salad is absolutely disgusting, I don’t see why they even call it salad. It’s just slimy lettuce with nothing else. The service is friendly, a little slow but okay. The atmosphere is fun. The bathroom wasn’t very clean. The price is a little high considering the food quality isn’t great. I think this place must have some friends writing good reviews for them. I wouldn’t say they are terrible, but I wouldn’t go back.

So good. So good. I had the chicken fried steak and all the fixings with some iced tea. I really enjoyed everything including the service and the ambience. So cute!

Let me preface this review by saying that I am 5 months pregnant and was C-R-A-V-I-N-G my husband’s fried chicken and biscuits. It was 6pm on a Saturday and I did not want to wait for him to go to the store, come back and dirty my clean kitchen. I’m a west coast girl married to Louisiana man who has and makes his grandma’s fried chicken recipe. It’s amazing. The only thing that comes close to his(or her’s) is Babe’s. Not only will this knock your socks off but so will the biscuits. Sweet Jesus are those good! Hubby had the fried fish which he described as «mucho bueno». I also enjoyed the salad which reminds me of a Basque-style I’m used to back at home(iceberg, wine vinegar dressing, and black pepper). The mashed potatoes, green beans and corn are nice accompaniments. I kind of wish they would change the sides from time to time(hence 4 stars) like mac n cheese, fries, fried okra, but I get that doesn’t fit into Babe’s concept. If you have room for dessert, I recommend the coconut pie. Yum! Don’t expect something fancy when you come here. If you are looking for good food in large quantities at a decent price and your preggo, here’s your place.

Just not impressed. The menu is basically KFC that costs more. The entertainment is lackluster. There’s no show, just animated waitstaff. The whole concept is geared toward the 75+ age group. Your grandma would probably love it.

Well, what can I say about this place. Let’s start with the positive! The smoked chicken and the catfish was above average. The waitress we had was great and received a larger than average tip. Cons– the salad is not a salad!!! It is slimy lettuce in a horrible dressing. The chicken tenders didn’t have flavor. The sides were old! Last but not least. As an operations director… Seeing 5 people standing around at the front of the store not working doesn’t just annoy customers when they haven’t seen a waitress but it also is poor management!!! Over all it isn’t awful but doesn’t deserve 4 stars! Get out more Unilocalers and experience better food!

Hard to say what hasn’t already been said! Everything tastes like your Grandma made it. I always get the smoked chicken(tender, wonderful flavor, mix of white and dark meat) and my husband the chicken strips with honey mustard. The gravy and sauces are wonderful and I can’t get enough. The corn and green beans are flavorful, sweet and smoky. The biscuits, well, I could live off them. We’ve never tried dessert because the mains are too delicious! The only drawback is that it is always packed and VERY noisy. Definitely not the place to take a first date or anyone that you’d like to have a conversation with. Having said that, you will forget all about it when you take your first bite…

Love BAbes. They have good ol fashioned mashed potatoes and gravy. Not canned!!! The fried chicken was hot and fell off the bone. You get unlimited refills on veggies and biscuits. You can take the meat with you what you do not eat and the bread. Not the veggies. They also do not have any to go drinks. They should change that.

This place is RIDICULOUS!!! Seriously the best we have ever eaten! I don’t know if they kidnapped all the granny’s of the world and told them to come here and cook but I seriously have no words to say but WOW! Seriously awesome food and on top of that price isn’t what we thought it would be at all it was priced very well($ 12.99) The staff is very nice and makes you feel very welcomed. I HIGHLY recommend this place Only down fall I found music was a little loud but who cares with food and service like that!

I am always looking for an excuse to take someone to Babe’s so I can get some chicken friend steak and all the sides. I love the family-style and the food is always delicious. I’ve never had a bad wait there, even when the square is packed, and the staff is always friendly. I’d say more great things about this place but my mouth is starting to water so I’ll stop and disappoint myself with an apple and water as I scour Facebook for a friend to take to Babe’s next week.

Babes is oh so very good, I just wish the overall environment was different! I know a lot of people like the dark restaurant vibe but it’s just not for me and I think that’s why we don’t come here too often. But if you’re okay with that then please do yourself a favor and come here! They have great chicken and their sides are to die for!

Great lunch! All Babe’s are the same, which means lots of good food and a fun time when the wait staff sings and dances. AYCE sides are very good. If you skip dessert, the rolls and honey are just as good! Call me and I’ll meet you there!

My brother mentioned this place to my parents as a place he wanted to eat at. He chose the best place – just so everyone could eat and not pay a whole lot of money for. The fried chicken was good, creamed corn superb, mashed potatoes, homemade biscuits and syrup tasted like an orgasm in the mouth. Everything was very good. I don’t know what they put in the salad dressing – but even that is delicious. Remember when those days were families used to eat all their dishes at the dinner table? Yeah, its like that here. Mums saying pass the mashed potatoes, dads saying pass the biscuits, and the siblings are saying pass the cream corn. I don’t know about you, but those days seem like they are dead and gone – but not here for the least. This place beats Grandys. Grandys used to be good – but wow they have failed miserably. Even the sweet tea is southern comfort good. This is the restaurant to be. Even though, my brother may not live in the area anymore – I will take an effort to visit again.
