Awesome pulled pork sandwich. Some of the best I ever had. Really good fries. Good range of beer. Definitely a must try.

I’ve visited this place 3 or 4 times in the last year or two and have been impressed each time. There’s a nice deck in back for outdoor dining or beer drinking, and the inside has a lively bar with high-top tables and a quieter side dining room. Service is reliably pleasant and professional, and the pub food(nachos, sandwiches, pizza) is great. They also take pride in preparing some creative dinner meals, which are excellent(last night we had the special: portabella«steaks». with mashed root vegetables(delicious), as well as a grilled romaine salad(nice, but a bit under-grilled for my taste). The house beers are outstanding, fresh and distinctive without being gimmicky. They also have a very good selection of other high-end craft brews on tap, reasonably priced. Super desserts as well! Salted caramel dessert got raves. The place is about a mile from the Copper Hill Road intersection with the Farmington Canal trail(easy bike or car ride) so it’s a perfect place for a post-ride beer or a mid-ride lunch!

Good place. My number one highlight is the mashed potatoes! If you go there, you have to order them. The variety of beers and the beers themselves are very good. There are small problems — the service is sort of slow. Also, once I ordered a medium-well burger, and it came out rare — but other than that, it’s great!

We were seated promptly and greeted by our very friendly waitress Michaela. She was extremely attentive to us and was great with my kids. We had the fried pickles spears for an app, which were absolutely delicious and for supper we had the fish and chips(huge portion) and stuffed cod. Everything came out quickly but not too quickly. Overall it was a great experience and if you are a beer drinker you have to try the CBH Porter. We will definitely be back.

Stopped in for a drink after Enders falls hike, had a great gimlet(I’m super fussy if not made right) and a black magic iPa — also awesome. Bartender was super friendly and prompt. She even made a point to say bless you when I sneezed ! Will be back to try some food soon !

I threw a surprise birthday for my fiancé there last weekend and we had an excellent experience! There was about 25 of us split up into two tables(my request) and everything went smoothly. It was a busy Saturday night and our waitress had other tables besides us but she was still very attentive and took great care of us! The food and appetizers came out in good time and she was always quick to ask us for a refill on our beers! I would highly recommend CBH for dinner, drinks or events with large groups of people!

Truly enjoyed our visit to the CBH. Our server Candy was extremely helpful. It was our first visit, so we were a bit unsure in what to try in regards to both food and beers. Very willing to provide samples in order for us to pick a draft that we really enjoyed. The nachos topped with stout steak were incredible. Easily contained over half a pound of steak piled on top of a full plate of nachos. Went with the CBH style wings, combination of bbq and hot. Very good, great quality, cooked to a pleasing crunchy level, highly recommend. During our visit I noticed the crowd included a large variety of people. Seemed like a place fit for any crowd. Would like to go back again.

My boyfriend and I took a CT Beer Trail tour last week, and this was the first stop, which included one drink and a choice of entrée for lunch. All 14 of us on the tour sat down at once, but the bartender was very efficient, and we were soon asked for our drink orders. My boyfriend and I asked for a few samples first before making our selection, and the waitress very graciously poured them for us. We tried the Three Steve Stout, the saison, and the pumpkin ale. All went down like a treat, and this is coming from someone who doesn’t love beer. I decided on the pumpkin ale, which was smooth, subtle and just a little sweet; I also secretly love that it came with a sweet cinnamon rim. My boyfriend decided on the saison and really enjoyed it as well. Lunch choices were limited for us on the tour, so I feel like I can’t fairly comment on the menu here, but both my boyfriend and I opted for the Brewmaster burger, and it was good, not great. It was a little lacking in seasoning(nothing some ketchup can’t fix, I guess), but I did appreciate that it was juicy and cooked to a perfect medium. I hate when restaurants cook their burgers to death. I would love to come back and try the bacon onion cheddar burger, as I bet it would be a much more flavorful burger. Oh, and the excellent fries deserve a mention too. I could eat just those alone and be happy. Even though we sat at the bar, service was great, and our bartender somehow managed to take care of a full bar and run our food out with ease and a smile. The owner was nice enough to give us a tour, and we got to see his whole tiny garage operation that magically produces the brews we had enjoyed so much. Back inside, we both loved the atmosphere – like a classic pub but with plenty of TVs for watching sports games. We got here at 11:30AM because that’s when our tour started, but by noon, the place was already filling up, and when we left at 12:30, it was packed. I can see why. We had never heard of this place before, but it really impressed us, and I’m looking forward to coming back.

Pretty nice selection of beers all brewed on site. Went for one of the IPA but it was kicked, had a Kolsh in it’s place. Very nice. It was lunchtime so I ordered the Mac and Cheese with Pulled Pork. After seeing some of the food reviews here, I guess I got lucky because my order was great. Perfectly creamy yet not overly cheesey and not at all what I expected. I only give 3 stars because two of the beers I ordered on tap were unavailable.

A solid B– Food was pretty decent. The pizza was at the level of ‘I made pizza at home for the first time and I didn’t do half bad’ but the Greek salad with goat cheese and blackened chicken hit the spot. I’m sure the beer could be good. We tried the Saison, and maybe the lines were dirty because it was pretty flat and tasted like beer pong beer. To each their own. We were in the area and checked it out on a whim. Good for the money. A solid choice.

Horrible — don’t order the Mac and Cheese. Tasted list they dumbed a whole bottle of salt and pepper in it. Beer is average at best.

Great burgers! I had the«JJ» burger special. It was a jerk flavored burger with goat cheese and onion straws. If you like goat cheese you will love it! My husband had the black and bleu burger«Gerry’s Way» with habanero. Both of us were very satisfied. House beers were good too!

If you want a hearty lunch, a burger and brew or nice salads with interesting dressings, this restaurant is certainly worthy of a stop. There is a large bar surrounded by high top tables as well as regular tables or patio seating outside. They are a brew house which provides another option if you wish only to sample some of their current offerings. I ordered a Kolsch beer which if you have had the original on a visit to Cologne, this one just didn’t measure up but it wasn’t bad and most folks I’m sure would be pleased. The Swiss Cheese Brew Burger I ordered was perfectly cooked, with grilled onions and mushrooms and a good high quality grilled roll. I always ask for fries done crispy, these too came through perfectly cooked just the way I like them. Service at the bar was excellent, it was friendly, courteous and prompt. I would not hesitate to return when traveling through that area of CT in fact, I would go so far as to say it might even become a destination.

I went to this bar 2 years ago and can say without question that this is a fantastic spot. Great beers, great wings, and just great vibes all around. Will definitely be back if I’m in the area.

Stopped in for our free mug of beer and some supper last night. Had an exceptionally good meal. The soup is generally good, but I really enjoyed it– mushroom soup, so creamy and delicious. Full of flavorful mushrooms with just the right amount of spice. My husband had a dinner salad that was generous in size with fresh ingredients. We had wings-Smokey mesquite and CBH. They were cooked perfectly-nice and moist. Had a side of fries, which are always good. My husband decided he wanted dessert and chose the salted caramel cake on the recommendation of our server Amanda-oh my gosh! So good! Of course, we’ll be back. Probably on Friday to see Dave and The Chameleons!

I seldom if ever leave a negative review though we just had an awful meal. The only saving grace was the wait staff which was good and hence the star. We started out with wings and tried salt & pepper, buffalo and the cbh. They were good. Then my companions order the Italian beef MR and I ordered the blue burger MR. His beef sandwich was beyond well done to the border of uneatable, his comment was that it must have been reheated 4 or 5 times. Mine though Medium rare had no taste. It’s been 2 years since we tried CBH, it will be at least that long before if ever we try again.
