My friend and I love trying new places, so we decided to give The Grafted Root a try. We were not disappointed ! The restaurant is primarily a breakfast place. The breakfast options far surpassed the lunch/dinner options. We came on a Thursday and it was create your own pizza night. The owner explained how we could select our own sauces(4 options), various cheeses, meats and vegetables. My friend loves margarita pizza and asked the owner if she had any fresh basil so she could have a margarita pizza. The owner said she would go into her garden and get some fresh basil. It was very kind of her and it made for a great pizza. I wasn’t in the mood for pizza, so I ended up getting a side salad and soup. The salad was small, but amazing. It had a ton of peppers, mushrooms, cucumbers, celery, carrots, tomatoes and very fresh lettuce. It was dressed perfectly with a nice balsamic vinaigrette. I loved it! The soup, on the other hand, I didn’t care for. It was supposed to be vegetables in a spicy chicken broth, but that wasn’t the case. There were plenty of vegetables, but the broth wasn’t spicy. It was a little sweet. I didn’t care for it. I should mention, we had an appetizer of Brie with raspberry jam to start our meal. The taste was great. I could have gone for a tad more cheese. Overall, the restaurant is great. Fresh, organic ingredients in a quaint setting, with great service. In addition, It’s in a nice location, with plenty of parking. I can’t wait to come back for breakfast. I highly recommend!

Quaint setting, excellent service so a little bummed that the food wasn’t better. Home fries had no seasoning, maybe a little salt and pepper? Some onions? Little bits of fresh jalapeño cooked in? Eggs ordered over medium but were closer to over hard. Turkey sausage bland as well. The good… excellent jam, tasty pancake(not hot though). Maybe heat the syrup since it’s served in a separate cup? Maybe we’ll give it another try if they make a few changes.

I love this place and wish I could go more often. It is very much like a small, family owned restaurant you might find in France or Italy. I highly recommend this place as a special destination to bring visitors. There is no place like it for MILES. Grand Blanc needs more restaurants like this!

Went on a Friday night figuring there would be a good selection based on what I saw on facebook. Their facebook page should be updated daily with the menu, but it’s not. When we arrived, we found the menu pretty limited. Salmon and two or three chicken dishes. I was hoping there would be some type of beef on there — was jonesin’ for a steak. The atmosphere is OK… tables and chairs a retro and not very sturdy. Music was great. We paid $ 22 for a Salmon dinner — and split it. Meh… don’t think we’ll go back.

Okay… I know this place has great reviews so I was really looking forward to dining here. The owner was there and she is very sweet and friendly and treats everyone like a regular. My food was by no means«bad» but I did feel like I got the dregs while everyone else enjoyed their meals. I got the special which was a pancake, 2 eggs and home fries. The eggs were just eggs, the pancake was dry so I needed a lot of butter and syrup on it and my potatoes included the black char from the bottom of a cast iron skillet — ew. Even the hot chocolate tastes weird. But, the orange juice and jam was very good. Service was very slow and there were not crowded. I heard from the other people at my table that the frittatas and French Toast were good so I guess I will have to try one of those if I make it back here. Again… not exactly bad, but nothing special.

Not what we expected. I guess it’s ok if you are a organic foodie. Not much selection and extremely over priced.($ 3 for 2 sausage links!?) Very disapointed. There was only room for about 8 people to be seated inside. We showed up around 9:30am and it was empty which should have told us something. We will not be back.

I’m so sad to leave this review. I love eating places that are independently owned and serve local food. It’s something I’m passionate about. My husband ordered the macaroni and cheese and I ordered a chicken arugula pesto sandwich. The macaroni was pretty bad at first. The cook let us know she was trying a new recipe and hoped we liked it. The spelt noodles just don’t go well with Mac and cheese and there wasn’t enough cheese at all. The cook added more cheese which made it edible. I was so disappointed in my sandwich:(. The bread came out spongy because the pesto was put on too soon making my toasty bread soggy. The chicken was literally 1⁄8 inch thick and did not taste seasoned. I’m not picky but I could not eat the rest because of the lack of flavor and spongy bread. We so desperately wanted to love this place but are sad to say we won’t be going back. A couple tips for the owner. Please season your food properly. Even if the chicken had salt and pepper, it could have worked better. When advertising a sandwich with meat, make sure the customer knows it’s there and doesn’t have to search to find it. Try out all new recipes before serving them to your paying guests. Lastly, when a couple waits over 45 minutes for their food in an empty restaurant, it may not be wise to have your staff sitting beside them chowing down on their own food. Your restaurant has huge potential and with a few tweaks it could be amazing. Our server was fantastic!

Small and lovely place managed by family or this what it seems like. Warm welcome and traditional atmosphere. I went to this place for breakfast. The food is so so, I expected something better than what I got. I will give it another try but at evening.

Simply Amazing. I’m a native of this area, and when we decided to grab breakfast this morning instead of going to our usual Cracker Barrel I said let’s see what’s around and oh boy we were pleased. After finding the building which wasn’t labeled as I thought it would be, we walked into the restaurant greeted with a warm hello and open seating. We sat next to the window because the sun was beautiful outside. From our seat we could see«Grandma» in the kitchen making deliciousness. Most of Everything is home made, and purchased locally and it’s mentioned on the menu where the items come from(local farms) I got the blueberry French toast and she got the pancakes with sausage. We were shocked to see how cheap the bill was. I think we’ve found our new usual

We had breakfast. It was well priced, the same as a greasy spoon. However, the food was not greasy at all. It was thoughtfully prepared and I didn’t feel sick after eating. The dining room is super cute, the waitress was helpful. The real maple syrup with homemade bread french toast for five dollars for four large halves or one four ounce p[portion of awesome jam from a large selection was hugely exciting. The fruit was the biggest surprise, for two bucks we got a big fruit plate with five different kinds of fruit. The star deduction is because the french toast was not soaked in the custard long enough and was dry.

Beautiful, Old fashioned family eatery with excellent homemade Fritatas, French toast, Strawberry jams with big pieces of strawberry and Pork Sausages. Great ambience and old time American music. Really worth visiting when you are in Grand Blanc, Michigan

Had our anniversary breakfast there this morning. The food was fresh and delicious, service was personable, and very reasonably priced. I had a Frittata with spinach, mushrooms and peppers, and half order of French toast with Slow Jam BlackBerry and ginger jam. Yum. And a latte. Both the latte and coffee were great. Can’t wait to try this for lunch and dinner. Meredith was an excellent server. Attentive without being annoying. We’ll be back for sure. Under $ 30 with tip.

Absolutely love restaurants like The Grafted Root Eatery that are unique, healthy and have great customer service. I enjoyed the Quiche Lorraine and I also ordered one of their organic hot teas. The restaurant is on the smaller side but it has a comfy feeling. On weekends they have entertainment where certain artists come in and perform. I appreciate the lower prices. Breakfast, lunch and dinner items are available all day. There is also a bar in the restaurant as well. I would highly recommend it!

It’s so awesome to finally find an eatery in Grand Blanc who utilizes local suppliers to make creative food. The prices are a little high but if you are looking for a unique experience in this area it is worth it. A full bar with several MI beers on tap is a plus! I will be coming back.

Grafted Root is my favorite local organic breakfast spot! Their french toast and frittatas always leave me wanting to come back again and again. In addition, I love that they change up their menu seasonally. Grafted Root is a small place, but it gives it that warm, welcoming feel when you enter the door. If it was advertised better it would probably become more of a «hit» breakfast place, but I have always had good service and great food here and will be returning again and again!

Small clean quaint restaurant with a limited menu and the daily specials. The service was great and the food was fresh, seasoned perfectly with perfect portions. I had the white fish with a honey mustard and a small wonderful salad. This place is a nice find and worth trying. If I was a local I would be here often.
