I’ve eaten at Junct’n Square several times in the past and have always enjoyed the food. Today, not so much. My companion had the spaghetti which was edible but tasteless. It was bland. Period. There was nothing to redeem it. I had pizza which was also bland, and the toppings, like the spaghetti sauce, were obviously canned. I asked the waiter if the restaurant had changed management lately because I thought maybe the new owners downgraded their ingredients, but he said it was under the same management, so all I can assume is that the same owners have decided to go with cheaper and less savory ingredients. I am sorry to say that I will not be going back to Junct’n Square.

Best pizza in junction! Anybody who say otherwise is probably a fan of little Cesar’s. Weirdos

This is the first place I beg my mom to go for lunch or dinner anytime I visit home. I associate Junction Square with home and when I lived in Denver, I used to get large antipasto salads to go every time I went home for a weekend and eat them for the next week. Yes, I now live in Chicago and everyone says I’m so lucky to get such great pizza here, but frankly, I’ll take Junction Square over any Chicago pizza any day. First, the square pizza corners are fantastic. I really like how they get crispy. They are buttery and delicious. Second, the antipasto salad is incredible. Meat, cheese, and lettuce? Yes please. I usually mix ranch and Italian for my dressing– both are great. Service when dining in can be spotty, but I’m never in a rush so I really don’t care.

I stopped there to try out a new(to me) pizza place, but was disappointed in their pizza. I grew up with very flavorful pizzas with stringing mozzarella cheese, blobs of Italian sausage and fennel taste in the Chicago area plus a couple of years eating pizza in New Jersey – both of which were usually good. Junct’n Square uses a mixture of cheese which includes an orange version such as cheddar. It must not be mozzarella since it doesn’t string like mozzarella. I ordered a sausage and mushroom thin crust pizza. It had almost no tomato-based sauce, little sausage sprinkled on it, and 1 – 2 slices of a mushroom on each wedge of 8 in the small pizza. Service was ok, but not great. Seemed pricey. Pizza Hut has at least as good a pizza, as does Papa John’s(although I have not tried Papa John’s in GJ.) I’ll keep eating my way around my new town. Maybe Junct’n Square will add a Chicago or NJ style pizza to their menu. One can hope.

I love this place so much. It’s my go to spot for lunch or dinner when I visit family in Grand Junction. The restaurant has been fully renovated and looks good, though the plates and cups need updated now. The family always gets a medium antipasta salad that is a crisp bed of shredded iceberg lettuce, topped with tiny diced cubes of cheese, ham, salami and tomatoes all served with a creamy Italian dressing. I always say that’s satisfying where I don’t need pizza, but who am I kidding!?! The deep dish Detroit style pizza has crispy edges and is the perfect amount of cheese and sauce. The thin round pizza is good but a deep dish is a must have! Eat well, tip well and enjoy.

I’ve been wanting to try this place for a long time. But, lots of great pizza in the area, so I only now got there for lunch. First, I want to commend the servers — both were friendly, welcoming and helpful. Because I always am hungry and pizza takes a little while, I ordered a salad and a half order of bread sticks with marinara sauce. You have 3 salad choices: Antipasta(sic), Vegetarian antipasta, or Andy’s Ultimate Antipasta Salad. The Andy’s has additions of pepperoni, ham, olives, tomatoes, green peppers and olives to the basic version(with tomatoes and salami). The bread sticks were disappointingly doughy to me. Like the accompanying marinara sauce, not horrible, but not compelling. Still — they come fast and are something to munch on while eating(a half order is 3 bread sticks and a full is 6). The Andy’s Ultimate Antipasta Salad has gotten such good reviews(on-line and from family) and I was looking forward to it. We shared a small(there are 4 sizes, starting at mini and going to large). Looking at it, I was happy — lots of meat chopped small, good crisp lettuce and veggies, and a circle of pepperoni around the bowl. We were given tongs to serve ourselves and a little pitcher of an Italian-esque dressing. Everything was SO cold that there was no discernible flavor. Might be better as a take out. And definitely needed some acid — either some pepperoncini peppers or a sharper dressing. To me it was bland. They did one really good thing — they layered the ingredients through the salad, they were not just plopped on top. By this time, I didn’t have high hopes for the pizza. We had ordered the small deep-dish square version with additions of sausage and green peppers. I was aware they serve a «Detroit» style deep dish(as opposed to the VERY different Chicago or Sicilian styles). I liked it. The edges had climbed up the sides just a little, giving some very thin tendrils of cheese and dough that almost felt fried to a crunch. The pizza dough was tender, but chewy(probably the same as the bread sticks, but it works better here). The toppings were not generous — the sausage was nicely sprinkled over the top, but the green pepper was one sliver per slice. I wanted more. But, all in all, I liked the chew of this pie and I loved the fact that the tomato sauce was ladled over the top. Nice moistness. Also the pizza was not overly cheesy, which is a huge plus to me. Felt light, but satisfying. I had been wishing that they had a «deluxe» or «special» version instead of having to get a plain pizza and add ingredients. When I asked(later), I was told that they do have one. But, on their menu, it is listed under«House Specials» below a pasta combination meal. And, it isn’t called out as pizza — just as a small or large Special. Hmm. Menu could use work — there is no definition of what the salads are composed of, what the style of pizza is, and how big the sizes of salads or appetizers are. Ambiance is clean and modern. There are 2 levels — lower has booths and small tables, upper has tables. Nothing really to look at here, though. The restrooms are very clean and have nice décor. There is a small outside dining area for the summer. Beer and wine are available(and they include New Belgium beers). So, I’m saying A-OK. Probably go back for the deep dish again sometime. Or try one of their well priced lunch deals. Glad I went.

The pizza here rocks!!! Being a New York boy, I am used to some pretty badass pizza. I also dislike thick crust pizza. This pizza kicked my butt! It is not thick crust, but thinner and crispy(little hint, tell them you want it well done until the cheese is bubbling brown). Unlocks another layer of flavors and a great crisp crust. It tastes good the next day as well. heat it up in a big pre-heated skillet or in a(convection) oven so air gets under it and allows the crust to get crispy again. One of GJ’s little secrets!

The salad was plenty, tasted good, but was not very imaginative. I asked for a mushroom pizza; I got a cheese pizza with a slice of mushroom on each of the 8 quadrants. IMHO, THISWASSUBSTANTIALLYINSUFFICIENTFOR A PLACEWANTINGTOBEKNOWNAS A PIZZASHOP.

This review is based on two visits within the past few weeks. Some of the reviews from 2011 were pretty harsh and I believe no longer justified. The service has been good on both recent visits with friendly servers who were attentive to getting our drinks refilled constantly. They took our orders promptly and our food arrived in a timely manner. The«square» pizza is their deep dish variety and I find the sauce pretty tasty. One thing that Junction Square has that is better than the other pizza places in town is their ground beef pizza topping which is well seasoned and flavorful compared to the bland offerings elsewhere. Some reviewers have knocked the salad which contains iceberg lettuce. If you want those chi chi greens that look like a weed from your yard, then yes, you will be disappointed. Personally, I view the role of the iceberg lettuce to be solely as a delivery vehicle for the yummy salad dressing and a holder for the little cubes of ham, salami, and cheese. Viewed in that context, I enjoy their antipasta salad. The other dish that we had was manicotti and it was decent but if cost is a concern, go on Tuesday nights when pasta is two for the price of one. So, overall, I think it is a solid place by Grand Junction standards.

I’ve lived here for years, Finally had lunch at Junction Square, service was good, The Lasagna was Spot on. I’m a foodie, I have a love affair with Italian food the meal was great, the bread sticks were addiction quality, I met the new owner and she really put her culinary education ro work here. I’m gonna go have lunch thier next week and give thier Detroit style deep dish pizza a road test.

Have been going here for 20+ years. They just always struggle with service. The food itself is good — mostly. It’s a good thing because it seems to carry them. I’ll try them every year or so cuz I crave their antipasto salads with the tangy dressing and chunks of salami and their deep dish pizza with the crusty crust. But back for my annual re-try I was told their credit card machine was not working and they wouldn’t take my local check. Was asked repeatedly if I could pay with cash. Sorry, cash doesn’t magically appear just because you need me to use it. Walked out without my order… Maybe I’ll wait longer than a year this time…

This place has been here for as long as I can remember. Their pizza is yummy and the salad is especially good.(The anti-pasta that is.) The service is nice and I just am so happy they are still in the area. :)

Great local icon. As stated in previous reviews, the antipasto is nicely done, as are the pizzas and calones. Nice family feel without being trashy or overly snobby either. reasonable prices for what you get. Great place to eat for a day of shopping.

Disclaimer: I grew up in the area and was a young adult here, and now live in Utah, so getting my Junct’n Square fix only occurs annually for me, so I’m biased to love it. Well, the antipasta salad anyway. The antipasta salad(or is it antipasto? As the menu has it spelled both ways…) is extreme comfort food for me. I’ve loved it since my first experience as a teenager. Simple ingredients(iceberg lettuce, ham, salami, mozzarella cheese, and of course tomatoes) topped with the thickest, zestiest, woefully unhealthy yet wonderful Italian dressing you’ll ever have in your life. We tried to emulate this salad at pot-lucks by using a Kraft brand from the grocery store(and, of course, *not* the light version), which gets you about 60% there, but it’s just not the same. Additionally, the way they«cube» all of the ingredients is part of the magic. As for the pizza, I would say it’s an acquired style(the crust is too doughy for some), although I’ve never been a big fan of it… I’d rate it «average.» I’ve never had any of their pasta. Five stars for the salad, three for the pizza. So here’s what you do if you’re staying in a hotel… you order an antipasta salad as take out, and pair it with some Papa John’s pizza back at your room. We did that last night, and I’m still craving more salad. I could probably eat a medium one by myself. Seriously. We did eat in the restaurant last year, and I noticed a twist on the salad — «Andy’s style» — which adds more pizza topping ingredients. I didn’t go for that version then, but am going to try it next time.

Junct’n Square served us a great meal the night before the Tour of the Moon bike race. Carb load? This is the place! I had tasty thick crust pizza, and my buddy a plate of pasta. Fancy? No way. But tasty!

As good as I remember when I was growing up in GJ. Junct’n square has a great dowtown location with a patio seating that was perfect for the summer afternoon that I was there. The salad which was one of my favorites as a kid was delicious and fresh. The deep dish pizza was served hot and was excellent. The interior of Junct’n square has been remodeled and was clean and modern. It is great to see a local business that has been around for so long still serve up great food.

Visiting from Las Vegas and was craving pizza, I walked down Main Street and found this amazing little place. I walked in and the set up was amazing, great music, good vibes and the staff was very friendly. This pizza is amazing, it is served in deep dish tray which I have never seen before. The marinara sauce and the fresh plump home made bread sticks melted in my mouth. I went with a couple of friends so we also ordered the spaghetti and meat balls that I would also recommend. If any one ever visits Grand Junction Colorado and would like to have the BEST pizza in town please make sure to stop by! :)

Some pretty harsh reviews for a place that’s actually pretty good! I’d give the pizza a 3.5. The crust is thick and buttery, the sauce has a good flavor, and the ingredients that top it are fresh. Plus it’s always baked really well. The antipasta salad is worth mentioning – topped with a heaping mound of salami and a good Italian dressing. The place has undergone great upgrades inside and out and looks a lot more modern and clean nowadays. This place only earns an overall 3 to me because it’s pricey, the menu options are limited, and I can’t order water here(their tap water desperately needs a filter; it’s terrible, and no amount of lemon juice has ever made it better.)
