This is a family owned consignment shop with a great feel, a pretty great selection, and low prices. When I went Emily was the only person working but she worked with us and had some great suggestions for bridal gowns. She obviously cared about me finding a dress rather than the money. I didn’t find anything for myself at this store, but she suggested another place nearby without hesitation. I actually found my dress at the place she suggested! If you’re looking for a salon experience this isn’t the place. But if you’re looking for a place this makes you feel personally valued rather than your wallet, I definitely suggest The Dowry. Plus Emily was really fun to talk to and was super helpful. I would go back here and suggest it to a friend in a heartbeat.

By far the best experience! I loved my experience with Emily so much, I went back for another purchase. If I had a dozed daughters to purchase wedding dresses for, I’d purchase a dozen. She is smart, courteous, personable, and more helpful than you can imagine. I just can’t say enough about how amazing this place is! So many choices of gowns for all occasions! I’ll be back time and time again.

I personally don’t believe in paying hundreds to thousands of dollars for a dress I’ll wear for only one day, so when I got engaged, I knew I didn’t want to spend more than $ 500 for the dress and any alterations that are necessary. Given that we’re only having a 7-month long engagement, going to bridal salons and ordering gowns was out of the question. In comes the Dowry to save the day! Staff: The staff is really friendly and helpful. The place is owned by Emily, a really sweet girl who really tries to accommodate you, even if it means she has to go out of her way. I made an appointment and worked with Anita, one of the store employees who is incredibly supportive and attentive. She greeted me warmly when I arrived and asked me what I was looking for in a wedding dress. True to what I described, she picked gowns that fit the description and stayed under the budget I gave her. Selection: The store is full of dresses that have never been worn at a steal of a price but there are also consigned gowns, too. I’ve seen labels like Pronovias and Allure on their racks. They have everything from sheaths to full-blown princess dresses. The dress I fell in love with is a Dere Kiang gown that seemed to be consigned to the store; it even had the original veil with it! There are even some evening formal dresses and special occasion dresses in their store, so if you have a formal event coming up, stop by to take a look! Overall experience: I was able to put my dress on hold for a week but ended up going back a few days later with a friend to get a second opinion and try it on a second time. I couldn’t walk away the second time but was able to get the dress and the veil for under $ 300! Each time I talked to Emily or Anita, I was met and received with friendliness and genuine concern for what I wanted. I would DEFINITELY recommend the Dowry to anyone who is looking to do a wedding on a low budget or if you’re like me and just think it’s ridiculous to pay an arm and a leg for a dress ;)
