Do not eat here! I feel it is my duty to warn others! Quite possibly the worst service I have ever had or seen. Every table there had an issue with either not getting the correct order or their bill or just waiting forever for a server to come to their table. For us we ordered a drink that was never delivered and food that was ordered but never delivered. The«boil» is not a boil it’s a bag of sea food. Just all and all not as advertised! Oh ps they were out of oysters which was the reason we went there in the first place! Not the place to go if you are a consumer that values good service when paying for something!

So, when this place first opened up we tried it twice and while the food was delicious, the wait staff seemed ill prepared and unable to manage their sections. Our first time there we sat for quite some time until we went to the bar and asked who our server was. We only gave it a second try because it’s the only place close for great crab. We didn’t go back for a while and then tried it again the other day — and I must say, our waiter was very attentive and the service was excellent. I’m so glad — we gave it another try. We’ll definitely be back. :)

Food is awesome but our waitress was slow and ditzy. She never wrote anything down which caused one of the members of our party to get her food almost at the time everyone else was getting finished. The fact that we were celebrating saved the waitress since we were having fun. They were not remotely busy, either.

Just okay. My gumbo was good but the shrimp po-boy was bland. Doubt I will go back since it’s so far from me.

Food was really great. I had the shrimp and grits and a bowl of their gumbo. All was great. That was my first time ever having shrimp and grits EVER. Big ups to this place for setting the tone for such a platter. Would definitely go back. Margarita wasnt bad either.

This was my second visit to Crazee Crab. The first time with my wife we were looking for a place closer to home. We usually travel from Cedar Hill to Farmers Branch for the low country boil. After living out in California and visiting Boiling Crab there, we have been trying to find a place here that can compare. My wife was born and raised in New Orleans, so she knows how everything should taste. On to the visit. Our first visit was very impressive. The food was good, border great and warranted a return visit. My only complaint is the corn and potatoes are sold individual. The crab, shrimp and sausage was really good. Wife requested a return visit for her birthday. Could not get her there so I decided on take out. I don’t recommend this at all. I ordered at the front desk the crazee boil. Took about 15 — 20 minutes for the food to arrive. Again, not a problem. Got the food home(15 minutes) when things took a turn for the worst. First, the crab legs, both king and queen were soft! They did not crack. I’ve never experienced that before. The shrimp appeared to be over cooked. I couldn’t peel 60% of them! They turned to shrimp mashed potatoes. The corn did have a lot of flavor, but again appeared over cooked. The sausage is okay, but sliced thin. Don’t think I will be back. Going back to Crab and Claw 35 miles away.

I have to say, I was really looking forward to this place. I even bookmarked it on my phone after seeing posting from FB. Came here yesterday for the first time and I was not impress. Sorry guys, this is just what I experienced. My friend never had soft shell crab so I ordered for him to try. I posted a photo and little did I know it tasted fishy. It was actually deep friend in a whole crab instead of cutting it up first then deep drive it. The way they did it, the crab juice was still inside so it tasted very fishy. The Fresh oyster was not quite fresh. I was also looking forward to the charbroiled oyster and was disappointed. The cheese that they used was not melted completely and you can still see chunks of it. Overall not impressed at all. It was their signature dish is what I was told. Crawfish is final fish that came out. It was $ 9 a pound and consider as «fresh». Sorry it was not. Half of it I had to throw away. I didn’t expect it to be big or somewhat fresh like when it’s crawfish season. But majority of the batch I had to throw away. Growing up in the food industry, I had to let the staff know for improvement. He apologize sweetly and such a nice gentlemen. The manager then came over, apologized and told us they been selling it all day and it was ok. Well maybe I just got the last bad batch? Who knows but I was not impress with the«crazee» sauce either. She offered us 3 free pounds next week and told her i live 45 mins from her restaurant. Just was in that area so decided to stop in since I bookmarked it. I told her this so they can improve and was not looking to get any freebies. She took my opinion well and that’s how business will grow. Overall, my food experienced was not a good one. The staff and how clean the place was made it up hence I rate it at a 3 star. I may give them another try when crawfish season comes around if I am in the area. Overall I walked away feeling hungry

The food here is delicious! We started off with a bowl of seafood gumbo, having a bunch of Cajun friends and tasting their gumbo this place surpassed any gumbo I’ve ever had. It had plenty of seafood and sausage and the spice was perfect not too hot and not whimpy! I had the pork chop with red beans and rice… all I can say is GOOD! We will be back.

My husband and I have passed by this place for at least 6 months and each time we day we are going to stop. We finally stopped and it was truly worth the wait. While we could tell they we’re short staff our waiter Chris attempted to accommodate as best he could. We started with an cup of Gumbo, which was the best I’ve had in a long time. My only regret is I didn’t get a bowl instead of a cup. The couple behind us had crab legs and they looked wonderful. A couple across from us had the Po Boy catfish sandwich which was HUGE. A added plus is happy hour is everyday until 7p.m. I selected the shrimp plate with fries, coleslaw and hush puppies and everything was delicious. Don’t just pass by as we did for months.

I’ve been to Crazees and love it every time. I order a pound of crab legs with the«crazee» boil and it is the best but quite messy but well worth it. I recommended Crazees to sooo many people and they all fall in love. The waitresses are great and always remember me but they are very busy. I think this is a new growing business who do not lwant to be overstaffed so, that is something to keep in mind.

Let me start by saying i LOVE seafood; it’s an unhealthy obsession really. I’ve been here 2 times, and I got to try something different each time. I’ve had oysters(baked), fried pickles, gumbo, and their house margaritas. All of which were pretty good! I’m not exactly the biggest fan of pickles, but the fried pickles were pretty on point. The gumbo was too spicy for my taste, and they put salt instead of sugar on my margarita, but it was still good. BUTTHEBEST is hands down the oysters. «Oyster» is in their name, so I wouldn’t put it past them to be known for their delicious, fresh oysters. Yum! This location has changed businesses several times. I haven’t been here since it was Ginza. I really do hope this place finds success and stays in business though. Their servers are excellent as well! Vivian and Laura are great! Definitely will be a good experience if they’re helping you. Swing by for some fresh seafood if you’re in the area!

I’ve been here 3 to 4 times and each time, the food is delicious and service is great. They are usually understaffed so the service is a little slower than expected(the first couple times it was slow). Everyone is really nice and attentive though. We ordered the shrimp and grits and the jambalaya. WOW. Both were delicious and seasoned really well. The shrimp were Gulf shrimp and they were huge. And there were about 8 – 9 shrimp per plate. Cost for each plate was $ 15 but really worth it. I’ve had Shrimp and Grits at a couple of places in DFW(the last place was Neighborhood Services) and Crazee Crab was definitely better and more worth the money. When it is crawfish season, we usually order the jumbo crawfish at $ 8/lb and we get the Crazee seasoning. This stuff is addictive. We add on some sausage links and corn as well. Thinking about this meal makes me wish it was crawfish season again!

I love crawfish and drove 45 minutes to try this place. It was at best just okay. The service was okay. It was a Saturday and only about 5 or 6 tables were there but we waited quite a bit of time for everything we ordered. I wanted a drink a saw on the website but when I got there, there was no menu and the response was«we just make whatever you ask for» that did me no help. So I ordered a hurricane… one of the worst hurricanes I have ever tasted. I could actually taste that they had to have used the cheapest rum they could find. I had to go into the restaurant to get a server because nobody came out to check on me. They were all in there folding napkins and standing around. The only reason they have three stars is because the crawfish were decent. Not spicy enough but had decent flavor. I would return but would not be in any type of rush. Now that I wrote the review I’m dropping it to two stars lol.

My wish as always is there were ½ stars on Unilocal. I’ll start with the good: 1. Our server, she was very sweet. She knew the menu very well and I was so pleased that I listened to her suggestion. 2. The food was excellent. I had the Crawfish po-boy with chicken and sausage gumbo. The gumbo was just the right amount of spiciness and the roux was very complex and there was just enough rice. The half po-boy that came with it was the size of a full po-boy I’m sure at many places. The crawfish were crispy and fresh the batter was well seasoned. All the elements of a great po-boy were there, crusty French bread on the outside but soft on the inside, lettuce, tomatoes, red onion and a delicious Remoulade sauce. I was full and happy with my meal. The Bad: The wait, I don’t mean the wait for our food to come out but the wait to get a table. We pulled up and although shaded the restaurant didn’t look full but we were told 30 – 45 minutes and I decided to stick it out. It was a 43 minute wait and sitting in the lobby there were at least 4 other people that came in with small parties(less than 3) who left because of the wait. When we were seated there were 4 empty 4 tops in the section we sat in. The goal of any restaurant should be to have a long wait because you don’t have any empty tables. That wasn’t the case as we sat and dined and just talked 2 of the 4 tables never got seated. Another friend had warned about the wait but bragged about the food. I understand why. The wait really isn’t acceptable. I will say once our order was placed it wasn’t long before our food came out. My observation is the place is really understaffed. Bottom line is would I return? Not on a weekend, no way! Would I recommend? Yes but with a warning about the wait and that in itself will be a deterrent to some. There were a few other items I would like to try so I may return during the week and probably between lunch and dinner. Hopefully the wait times will improve. We shall see.

Crazee Crab has been a hot spot on all of my social media as of late so I had to go check it out for myself. This same spot used to be a sushi restaurant by the name of Koi. Yolanda M. and I decided to go in on a Friday night and grab some dinner. We waited a good 45 minutes to be seated, despite the fact that there were plenty of tables available. Honestly, had it not been for fellow Unilocaler Yolanda M. I would have been long gone to another restaurant down the way. But she checked with the hostess and we were taken back within 2 minutes of her checking. Once we were taken back to our table, we were greeted by our waitress Felicia. Felicia took our drink orders, told us to ask if we had any questions about anything on the menu, and left us to check the menu out. She came back to follow up and answer questions that we had. Once our questions were answered, we ordered and our food came out surprisingly fast. The food itself was great. I ordered a shrimp po’boy, which comes with fries, and a side of chicken and andouille gumbo. The po’boy was fabulous! I had never eaten a po’boy before coming to Crazee Crab but that po’boy was everything a po’boy should be. The bread was fresh, vegetables were fresh, and the shrimp was fried to perfection. The fries were a bit over seasoned for me but they were still decent. The gumbo wasn’t my favorite but it wasn’t the worst I’ve ever tasted. Crazee Crab has the potential to be a really good restaurant. They are clearly and severely understaffed. Felicia was a great waitress but she was running all over the restaurant serving customers in different sections. Several people also walked away because of the ridiculous wait(upwards of 45 minutes). Will those customers come back? Probably not. Will I go back to Crazee Crab? Most definitely. Their food is incredible and while slow, the employees are nice despite the extreme delays. This is still a relatively new restaurant so they will hopefully work their problems out sooner rather than later. My expert tip would be to come on a week day and you will probably eat within 30 minutes as opposed to an hour and 30 minutes.

The crawfish here are great. The flavor is there, and it’s delicious. HOWEVER… I cannot give crazee crab more than two stars for it’s lack of… Everything else. Their crawfish here is $ 8.99/lb. I ordered 2 lbs of «the crazee»(all 3 flavors; lemon pepper, garlic and cajun) and I swear it did not feel like 2 lbs. My usual is 2 lbs anywhere else I go and my bag was tiny and felt like maybe 1 ½ lbs. Usually after eating 2 lbs, I am satisfied but this time, I felt jipped. Kellys 1 lb bag looked like half a pound! This is frustrating since I am paying a dollar more for crawfish when I could go to joes cajun, boiling crab, or anywhere else for only $ 7.99/lb. what’s also frustrating is that you have to trust the chefs/server to pack your crawfish and own up to however many pounds you ordered. I never had a trust issue until now. Crazee charges .50 cents per corn and per red potato. $ 7.99 for a lb of sausage. The red potato they provided were about the size of a quarter. I KIDYOUNOT.(See photos). I cannot believe they have the audacity to charge .50 cents for a potato the size of a quarter. I DIDNTEVENKNOWPOTATOSCOULDBETHATSMALL!!! The sausage was OK, I don’t care for it. There was nothing great about them and it didn’t soak up the flavor of the crawfish. I tried some of Kelly’s gumbo and it was awful. It tasted like they used some kind of powder base to make the gumbo. It didn’t even taste like gumbo. I don’t even know what it was. Just when I thought I had enough to complain about… Tuesday’s HH was $ 4 Jack all day. Great deal, yes, but not when your Jack and sprite tastes like rubbing alcohol. Im a whiskey type of girl. I will slam shots and drink it on the rocks, so when kelly and I have to hold our nose to drink our Jack, there’s something wrong with it. I really want to like crazee. It’s only 5 minutes from my house and the crawfish flavor is good. I just can’t justify paying an extra dollar for crawfish, especially when I feel like I am being jipped. Sorry crazee but I’m not too crazee about you. Lol

Seafood. Spicy Crawfish, crab legs(both Snow and King), boiled Shrimp, fresh Oysters on the half-shell, fried or chargrilled. I’d never had chargrilled so I ordered them on my last visit. Oh Muh Gawd! It was like a revelation to me. A tiny drop of butter and some garlic on top of grilled oyster halfshells. Toss a smidge of Lousiana hot sauce on and fire it down the hatch. 1 dozen wasn’t nearly enough and I can see myself stopping here simply for those. I’ve also had the crawfish and the king-crab legs. While pricey($ 30/lb) for the crab, the measurement seemed approximate(more) and it was more than enough meat to satisfy. The key though to Crazee Crab’s food is the spice-blend they use on everything. It’s floral yet sweet yet spicy yet pungent. Very unique and definitely crave-worthy. In speaking with Carol, the owner, the chefs are both from LA(NOLO if I remember correctly) with experience cooking this oh-so-lovely cuisine. Service wasn’t the quickest so consider that if you’re pressed for time. Everybody was so damned nice though and the drinks were pleasant. Go get crazee y’all!
