One of the coolest hole-in-the-wall places I’ve ever been to. The wonderful ladies making the food at Crowns have been working here since 1972! They were extremely welcoming and charming to us. The food is all homemade and delivered fresh to your plate in front of you. The BBQ sauce has a hint of spice which is to die for. For a pound of ribs, 2 bottles of water, grilled bread and peppers the meal cost $ 13. Try this place if you’re in the area!

This is just what I’ve been looking for! Delicious, inexpensive food with that home cooked taste. The chopped beef sandwich on toast was so good that that I’ll probably go back TONIGHT!!!

Probably the best BBQ in Dallas/Fort Worth! A tiny stand-alone building in Grand Prairie, south of Jefferson, these gals put out the best chopped beef BBQ sandwiches around. And the ribs — oh my! They fall off the bones and are smoked perfectly. Of course, you have to get a little container of their sauce to dip the ribs in. Awesome. They have pretty good coleslaw and ‘tater salad, too. DH loves their BBQ bologna — I can’t get up the courage to try that, though. Highly recommend if you’re in the neighborhood — or worth the trip if you’re not!

Family owned & operated. Get there early because they run out of the goodies often due to a loyal following. This place has been open since I have been in the states & run by my Grandmothers cousin Ms. Gay & her daughter/sons. Since going gluten free I don’t eat the beef on toast, so they pile it into a container & load it w/jalapenos, onions & pickles. On fridays they usually do a deep fried catfish, but by two p.m. you may miss out. This place is nestled in a neighborly ‘hood’ across from a church & within walking distance from St. Johns Baptist Church, amongst several others, a community barber by the name Black, an elementary school & the Dalworth Recreational Center. Great place, friendly folks. Also a sign that says: No Shirt, No Shoes, No Service is how I grew into such a mannerable young woman. Visit my & be nice. You’re walking into history.

Wonderful old serious barbeque joint: been around since 1972. Hot links, mild sausage, brisket, ribs, chicken(Wednesdays or call ahead), or ham. Sides of beans, potato salad, or cole slaw. Large sandwiches come on Texas toast, small sandwiches come on buns. Canned pop is 75 cents a can(no diet sodas). Cash only — will usually be less than $ 10.00 per person. Worth the trip and worth the wait! Lockheed Martin employees try to keep this place to themselves. Don’t let ‘em! Go try Crown’s!
