There are literally a dozen places in town where I can get a sub sandwich, but there is only one place I WANT to get it from and it’s Boardwalk subs. First off its a sub shop. Not gourmet dining but every time I have been there its been clean, the kids behind the counter(because lets face it this is the type of place to get your feet wet in the world of employment) have been polite and the service has been good. Yes sometimes the workers chit chat a bit and yes sometimes there is a line. I am totally fine with that because all the fresh slicing of meat and cheese makes it worth it. Their subs range from the super simple to the everything but the kitchen sink. I love their toppings and they are so generous with them. Once at another sub place I wont mention but rhymes with Ubhay I asked for black olives and the dear worker actually put on 3 little pieces and said that was«per the sub recipe» ha. So at boardwalk when you ask for black olives you get heaping handfuls of nicely minced(olives, pickles, onions whatever). Their bread is fresh and their sauces are nice. One of the best things is that if you take the time to look through your junk mail in Grand Rapids you can usually find a buy one get one free coupon which makes this place a heck of a deal.

Never been here before and will never go again, unless I have time to REALLY spare! No joke we stood in line from 6:55 to 7:15 with THREEPEOPLEINFRONTOFUS!!! Two people working who had no sense Of urgency! One blonde girl and some tall skinny guy who had the worst attitude! He even made a face when talking that indicated his disgust! Then I show him my student ID for the 10% discount and he doesn’t give me it! I didn’t say anything cause I was over it, after waiting in line for so long! Ugh awful experience

Wow. Pretty pricy place for VERY mediocre sandwiches. I feel bad for the girl behind the counter. I don’t think she was trained very well as she seemed unsure of everything she was doing. The quality wasn’t quite there either. Toppings were plopped on meat that was falling off the bread. Lettuce was brown. The only good thing about this place was that the seating area was clean. Won’t be back.

Another great sandwich. Bread was fresh as usual and the meats sliced to order. Love this place.

Great little sub shop. Fresh bread toppings. Better than the standard subway and jimmy johns options.

I took my daughter for lunch and the girl making the subs dropped some of the toppings on the floor so she proceeded to clean the mess up on the floor and then handled both of mine and my daughters subs to be toasted with dirty gloves. She made no effort at all to change her gloves or anything. Totally unacceptable so we walked out feeling totally bad for the guy in line behind us who was also getting his sub prepared by the girl with dirty gloves. How gross!

Good sandwiches with very fresh ingredients. Often they are a little skimpy with the toppings though. I prefer Jersey Giant on Plainfield Road… that’s a delicious sandwich.

Great Jersey Style Subs. Meat and cheese is all sliced to order. Although limited their toppings are very fresh and their homemade dressing choices are delicious. Chip selection is great. Thanks again.

The sub’s are huge, the meat is fresh and there are tons of options for combos. While they could use more options in the bread department, what they do have is superb and always fresh. Staff is friendly and I’ve never had an issue with them running out of things like other reviewers. A five out of five!

Yum, yum, yum. Good food with a good meat selection that they’ll let you try. On the 50 bus route if you are a GV student(or not… it’s not like they check i.ds.). I really liked this place until I came once and it was summer and there were flies around(right around the veggies!). While I enjoyed the food I haven’t been back since to be honest. But hey, I would still recommend it for others.

This place is hit or miss. You go in one day they have everything on the menu another half of it is gone. How do you have a special for the day and run out at 4pm? On a Friday. This is what has happened to us the last two times we went and have not been back since

This place is 5 stars all the way. I’m not going to dock the 2 because of styrofoam. These subs are top notch. Super fresh toppings and meats. Sliced for your sandwich. No they don’t have a salad bars worth of variety for their subs toppings but the subs are tasty without it. The bread is fresh and has a good texture to it. And as a side note they always have cute GVSU students working there.

This sub shop is awesome!!! One of the best subs i ever tasted!!! A MUSTTRY!!! Boardwalk slices all the meats and cheeses you want on your sub fresh in front of your face!!! They do lack in toppings, but i think that there subs are all about the freshness and quality of all their meats and cheeses. Their Staff, homemade cookies, and soups are the BOMB as well!!!

This New Jersey style(fo-get about it) sandwich shop has premium cut, thinly sliced deli meats, but lacks the numerous toppings one finds in franchise sandwich shops. They make a solidly good sandwich… no frills. Wheat or white bread. Half or full(by full I mean LARGE). Most people would be satisfied with the half-size. Here you get just lettuce, tomato, and onion. That’s it. No foo-foo toppings here. I had the half wheat turkey, pristini(thinly sliced ham cooked in pepper), and cheese with mustard and all three of the previous toppings(call me crazy) which was very tasty and filling. Also, I just love how they cut the sandwich into bite size sections like mom use to do. Only thing I disliked was that drinks come in styrofoam, but I just love that jersey attitude in not caring what environmental nut jobs think… even though using styrofoam is naughty. Plenty of big windows to watch the traffic and people go by on a nice sunny day. 10% discount for college students.
