We really love it here! Our friends we stayed with while visiting come here regularly and I see why! The food was so delicious and friendly, but also quick, service. I highly recommend coming here!

I dream of their granola pancakes! Service is blah but the food makes up for it

Oldest restaurant in the city, and, by far, the best breakfast eatery. Service is top shelf, and the servers are some of the friendliest in town who will not shy away from allowing you to order«off the menu» to accommodate preferences and needs. Owner and staff are truly just wonderful!

Service is grumpy and the food is just ok. Much better choices in this area I will pass.

Not sure what everyone loves about this place? I was irritatedly underwhelmed. The atmosphere was dark and depressing and smelled and unfortunately tasted like a wet dog. I felt like I was at a weird great aunts house whose blind and does all of her own«cleaning», cooking and decorating. The décor was all dollar store, garage sales items that didn’t go together at all. And then the menu was just as disappointing. Nothing enticing that grabs your eye, I kept rereading the menu thinking I’d missed something. After 10 minutes not finding anything in the menu to settle on I asked the waitress what she’d recommend, the tanga she said so I agreed. Finally after a long miserable wait our food arrived. I took a bite and thought it just didn’t taste good because I couldn’t get past the wet dog smell so I tried another bite– same thing. Yeahhh that was a complete waste of time and money.

Cute little spot. At here for a late breakfast. Couldn’t decide between the Eggs Florentine or the Crab Cake Eggs Benedict. When I asked the server for a recommendation, she said«that’s when you just split it and get one serving of each!»… Fantastic idea, and that’s what I did. They both were good, but I’d choose the Florentine as the winner. It was really delicious. Our server was fantastic and the prices were all very reasonable. Great place for breakfast.

I’m an avid supporter of local restaurants. I’ve heard of this place but usually as a second or third choice after places like Real Food, Marie Catrib and Anna’s House. It was Good Friday so we decided to finally give it a try. The place has an old vibe, not only when it comes to the exterior of the building and the interior décor, but when we came in, most of the customers where seasoned individuals, which gives you the impression that the place has credibility. The food came quick: the Nutella crepes were very sweet and«eggy» tasting, but for those with a sweet tooth, you’d love it. The almond coconut pancakes were too overwhelming: it felts as if they dump too much of each of the ingredients. It was like eating an Almond Joy bar with a little pancake batter. Again, for those with an extreme sweet tooth, this is paradise. I had a southwestern frittata and it was excellent! The salsa is store-bought, and it still tasted amazing! The hash browns could’ve used more time on the grille. The only disappointment I had was with the bad joke of the waitress. As we were ordering, I asked her if I could get a side of blueberry pancakes. Usually in other places the side of pancakes are plain buttermilk. Her response: «you can get whatever you can pay for on the menu». See, this could’ve been funny among friends, but we were not only customers, but a biracial, Hispanic family. The only people of color in the room at the time. We considered that to be a tasteless response. Hopefully someone will take notice and train their staff to be more aware of silly jokes that can be taken as if the customers do not belong in the restaurant. We left a good tip for the less than amazing service we received.

Cute little spot that feels vintage but the food is lacking. Lumberperson is a slight step above chain breakfast joints.

Worth the wait! The chicken and chorizo omelette is off the hook along with the crab cake benedict, shakshuka, and the sausage egg bake. The weekend specials are always exciting as well.

One of the best breakfast places in grab rapids mi. They have breakfast till 3 pm everyday hey naught be closed one day a week I’m not sure. I have been ordering crab Benedict for over 7 years in row. The other specials from time to time portobello Benedict is also great. The lunches are fresh healthy refreshing. This is a gay friendly place and I would give them shunning star for impeccable service and ability to always hire attentive staff. The prices are very affordable parking on street is available. My favorite spot in Grand Rapids located in cherry st east town

First time there– food was amazing, I had crab cake Benedict and French toast. Also, Hazelnut coffee is awesome. Only negative is food took pretty long and tables are small. Other than that very great experience and food. I will be back!

This place is way bigger than it looks from the outside. I ordered the chicken tinga and it was excellent. The have a decent sized menu and a handful of specials. We got a table at 11am on a Saturday almost immediately! Great service and cool atmosphere. This is the oldest restaurant is Grand Rapids! Definitely worth checking out.

The crab cake benedict visits me often in my brunch time fantasies. Yeah, I’m weird like that. Small, lots of character, and, true to great GR area breakfast spots, BUSY on the weekends. However, don’t think twice about it. It’s 100% worth the wait.

The Cherie Inn is one of the oldest restaurants in Michigan. The ambiance is everything it should be, simply tasteful. It doesn’t try to be anything it isn’t. It is simply delicious and Grand Rapids best and favorite weekend brunch location. ARRIVEEARLY or risk the hangry weekend morning wait. A favorite of mine is their many types of Eggs Benedict. The smoked salmon is always a winner. The sea scallop is different however my personal favorite along with their staple menu classic Eggs Florentine Benedict with bacon. These are served best with their Cheesy Brunch Potatoes and AMAZING in-house hollandaise sauce. As a French style boutique restaurant, my only reservation(pun intended) is the lack of espresso based beverages. Although their black coffee options are widely celebrated, something that I have always yearned for is a hand crafted Café Latte while enjoying my Sunday morning brunch. 4.5 stars from me.

We miss Cherie Inn so much. It has always been our favorite breakfast joint in the Grand Rapids area. Everything they serve up is done right. Personal favorite is the crabcake benedict. Next is the ham and cheese omelette. Next is anything on special. They do it up right daily. We actually had our wedding reception here back in 2008, so Cherie Inn will always hold a special spot in our hearts! Michael the owner is simply amazing!

My wife and I visited on a Saturday morning to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We have heard good things about the Cherie Inn so I was excited to try it. The service was fair; nothing was terrible yet nothing was outstanding. The poached egg I ordered was too runny and lukewarm. The portion of fruit served with the meal was nice, but the kiwi fruit was not ripe yet. And…am I the only one who notices dust on fixtures, décor and the building itself? There was a fair amount of dust and grime on the fake greenery that lines the windows. Additionally, am I the only one slightly concerned of a health issue with the jar of jam at each table? How do I know if the people who sat at my table before me didn’t use their utensil, that had already been in their mouth, to scoop out more jam??? The restroom I used was very small and awkward to get in and out of. Not sure if there is any easy fix to that, though.

Cherie Inn is one of my all-time favorite breakfast places in GR! Their weekly specials are always interesting but I usually end up getting my go-to, the eggs Florentine with bacon. The eggs are always perfectly poached and it has tons of spinach! I also love the cheesy brunch potatoes that come as a side with most of the specials. The service is always outstanding, no matter how busy it is. You can call ahead and put your name on the list if it’s going to be busy(and it will be on the weekends).

I enjoy the breakfast at Cherie Inn and find it a comfy spot to grab a bite when it’s a bit dreary outside, as it was today. The food is good(no, not the best breakfast I’ve ever had, but it is consistently good), reasonably priced and I’ve not personally experienced any poor service. I do enjoy being able to get freshly squeezed juice with my breakfast as well as having a carafe of cold water on the table. Today I got the Sausage Bake Scramble. The pork sausage it came with was very good and I only wished there was a tad more of it. The eggs were good and it came with a generous amount of cheddar and a fairly large«dollop» of sour cream. The croissant it was placed on was indeed tender and buttery. I added an extra egg and a side of hash browns as well. The hash browns were a bit too oily for my taste, but I was ravenous, so I finished them anyway. My waiter was friendly and the service good. I do enjoy this place and it will always be on my radar when I’m working on this side of town.

My husband and I went to Cherie Inn for an impromptu child-free breakfast. Greeted and seated immediately, off to a great start! Our server recommended the Eggs Benedict so the mister got the classic and I ordered the Crab Cakes Benedict, with some cheesy hash browns and rosemary potatoes on the side, respectively. DATHOLLANDAISE! I can’t say I’ve ever had it better. I could do shots of it! An excellent breakfast, carefully and expertly-prepared. I can only imagine how nutty it gets on weekends, so I think we’ll save this place for those rare weekdays when we have a morning to ourselves.

I told my child I’d take him for breakfast today, but he had to try a new place. He made me promise it wouldn’t be weird. Cherie Inn is not weird. He loved it upon entry. When we were seated in a corner alcove near Lake Drive he declared it «cute». He ate chocolate chip pancakes, I ate a Mexican Omelette. Both meals were fantastic. He loved the way his pancakes soaked up the syrup. Big bonus for us fruit lovers: a pineapple wedge for garnish! Our server was busy as could be, but kind and friendly. I am glad we can add Cherie Inn to the list of places Henry deems«not weird».
