I really thought this hotel was great for the price I paid. As soon as we walked in the door it smelled wonderful. The lobby was very welcoming with a fireplace and fresh coffee. Checking in was fast and the hotel staff were very friendly. Our room had two double beds which were very comfortable with nice fluffy bedding and pillows. Everything about this hotel was very clean including the pool and hot tub. We stayed for a softball tournament and the hotel had many other families staying for sporting events so I was very surprised at how quiet it was in our room. The breakfast was very good. They offer juices, cereal, bagels, muffins, other pastries, yogurt and fruit, eggs, potatoes, bacon or sausage and waffles. They even had nutragrain bars out if you would like to take something in the run. The only negative we experienced were the curtains in our room. Our room was facing the Meijer parking lot and the lights from the parking lot stay on all night. They only have sheer curtains in the room. It would be much better if they had black out curtains to pull shut for the rooms on that side of the building. I still gave this hotel 5 stars because the beds were so comfy that I went right to sleep and the light didn’t bother me too bad. The next time I stay I would request to stay on the opposite side of the building though.

Very good service visited back in 2002 and 2003! Clean and a great swimming pool! Breakfast was really good! Really like the fireplace in the lobby!

There were a few wear and tear issues with our room that kept this from being 5 stars but other that this was top notch. Mini fridge. Check. Microwave check. Hot breakfast. Check. Loved the waffle maker and the juice machine. Loved the coffe bar with flavored creamers. Loved the real plates and mugs. Loved the covered porch by the entrance and the patio gazebo across the parking lot. Loved the close proximity to a meijer if you need something. LOVELOVELOVE the VERY fair pet policy. The nightly charge was very fair in my opinion for all the amenities offered compared to many of their competitors in the area. I believe it was Andy who was the assistant manager who was on staff when we checked in who was VERY friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. Have never stayed at a Country Inn & Suites before but can say they will definitely. Be my first choice next time!

We usually stay in this area when visiting family in GR. This location is convenient and easy to get to. We’ve either stayed here or at the Holiday Inn Express just next door most of the time we’re in to see family. It’s not particularly scenic as its near the expressway and a Meijer’s(been in there several times as with family pot luck-type gets, you often have to pick up some snacks or beer to take with). Its fine for an overnight stay. The last time we stayed here, it was just a few days after a storm, so the remotes on some of the entrance doors didn’t work(so we couldn’t just park our car near the entrance closest to our room and enter), plus Tim reports that the Internet was a bit spotty. Breakfast was your typical chain hotel«meh». Oddly enough, Tim was«guest of the day», a fact I discovered when spotting a flashing sign near the desk as we were checking in that shared that fact with everyone. We had a voucher for a free room that we won in a charity auction, and Tim signed up for the loyalty program when reserving the room… guess that made him the guest du jour… so he got a small bag of treats when we checked in(a bit of candy, a breakfast bar, a bottle of water). We thought the staff was quite friendly. The place itself could use a bit of work, but it was in pretty much typical been-here-for-a-few-years-chain-hotel shape.

The description«Meh, I’ve experienced better.» sums up this hotel perfectly. Checking in and out was easy and the room was decent but you could clearly see the hotel could use some TLC. The walls were paper thin, the toilet didn’t flush great, and the beds weren’t very comfortable. Also, some of the tv channels barely came in, which was frustrating. Thankfully I wasn’t in the room much during my visit, otherwise I would have complained about some of these things.

Horrible experience. The power went out in half of the hotel for half of our stay which means the elevator didn’t work and the pumps for the pool and hot tub did not work.(yuck).The emergency lights for the stairs, only one out of three were working so we were walking up stairs in darkness(huge violation)… The light dinner was mixed veg and mashed potatoes??? That’s a meal?!? The breakfast was just as bad with powdered eggs, frozen french toast and heat and eat sausage. Won’t back there anytime soon!!! ugh!

Hotels tend to be generic, but my favorite two flavors at Country Inn and Kimpton. Although no longer new, this is one of my favorite Country Inn locations: it has a great hot tub, and has better food than usual: heavy hors d’oeuvres(last week fajitas) at dinner and a full breakfast. It is also across the parking lot from a Meijer store which means ample opportunities to buy amazing Michigan wine to take back home. I prefer rooms with a lake view.
